Whether you are a weekend warrior or a seasoned pro, the Berkley Choppo is the ultimate chuck and wind bait that delivers explosive topwater action. Built with a super durable cupped propeller tail, the Berkley Choppo produces an enticing plopping sound and a generous amount of spray that calls fish to the surface to strike. The precision weighting of the Berkley Choppo also ensures that the tail begins spinning immediately and it swims perfectly straight at a variety of speeds.
Ideal for fishing in open water, around shallow cover, or boat docks, the Berkley Choppo does it all. Available in a wide range of colors and equipped with a pair of Berkley Fusion19 treble hooks, the Berkley Choppo is a must-have for every topwater enthusiast.
Choppo ReviewThe Choppo is an amazing bait and always gives joy, I use the Choppo every time I go fishing.

Comments: Good bait action & color choices. The hooks are decent but the durability/strength of the hook is somewhat questionable after the front/rear hooks bent out and lost me a large fish. So I would recommend a better quality hook, I went with a #4.

Comments: My favorite topwater, nice sound, nice tail, nice hooks and great durability. I've only had one choppo and I've caught around 15 fish on it
From: Isaac: Minnesota 10/10/22
Comments: Cheaper than a whopper plopper and works just as well. Great for covering water during late summer mornings and evenings and the blowups are huge. I use maverick when it's cloudy and at dusk, and pearl ghost when the sun is out. Lots of my bigger largemouth bass have been caught on these and they are a blast to fish

Comments: I'd take the Choppo over the Whopper Plopper ANYDAY, I think the noise is better, they as durable and with all the pike that hit it as well as bass, if you lose one it doesnt hurt the wallet as much. The Choppo has a squeaky kind of sound that fish like.

Comments: The Choppo has been a staple in my boat since they came out. They displace more water than the competitor and they have great durable paint jobs as well as awesome hooks. I can fish them around grass and the action is not killed most of the time. Keep it simple with the colors, but definitely pick one of these up.

Comments: Great bait I use it over weeds and I never had any problems with it so itâs the only bait that I would use over and over. I use the bait on days with chop no matter if itâs in Georgia or Florida just use the bait with chop on the water. Another thing to point out that if you hit the tail on a rock there may be a crack in the tail.

Comments: The berkley choppo is a great and cheaper sub for the whopper plopper. The hooks are really sharp and the 90 size is great for any bass 1 lb and up. Unfortunately I lost both of mine because of breaking off so I will be ordering more. Best way to go for color is one dark (Maverick) and one light (Ghost white). All Berkley topwaters are top notch baits at a decent price

Comments: Today (April 18), I used the 90 mm frog model and caught two bass within three minutes. I used both the 90 mm and 120 mm on fluorocarbon and had zero problems with lure performance. I highly recommend this lure and look forward to using it as the season advances and weather improves.

Comments: Bait is very temperamental to begin with. Then after landing a 3.5 lber, it won't plop unless I absolutely burn it, but then it's useless. Even before it 'stopped working' I felt like it produced too many wasted casts to be worth it.

Comments: Purchased one today for the local pond I've been fishing. Amazing action, when paired with braid line it was even more receptive to movement with great water displacement. Drove the bass crazy!

Comments: I have the Choppo 105 and am not impressed with its action. I run it on 50# braid to a 17# mono leader, and it seems very slow to start up before it begins to churn the surface, then runs at an angle. Won't buy another. I do use the Hi-Jacker walking bait and have caught some nice bass on it which practically hook themselves on the sharp Fusion hooks.

Comments: Bought this at Fleet Farm before we went out on the lake and was glad I did. We were fishing in about 8 ft of water with weeds and grass growing to about 2 feet under the surface, and I was just chugging this thing along, rod tip high then BAM! Easy topwater to use and I would match the hatch. Up in Minnesota, the main forage for bass are bluegills so I got MF bluegill

Comments: Pros: Great hooks and awesome paint jobs.
Cons: Very temperamental in regards to the speed, to slow and and it doesn't create hardly any water displacement, to fast and it rolls over and blows out of the water. It's the same problem that the Whopper Plopper 90 has. I'm disappointed in Berkley because they made it a point to advertise that the bait wouldn't have the same problems, but as far as I can tell it has the same exact problems.

Comments: These baits are fantastic! The Whopper Plopper 110 has been my favorite topwater since it came out and the Berkley Choppo 120 is every bit as good if not better. The hard tail seems to make a deeper/lower pitch plop sound and it just sounds awesome. My first time out with a Bone 120 Choppo landed me a 5.5 and two 3's in an hour (and a couple smaller fish). I also had what appeared to be an even bigger bass submarine over just under the surface from 10' away and nail it close to the boat but I got too excited and set the hook too soon before I felt her weight. I also have a 90 Choppo and I can tell you that it doesn't have any of the negative tendencies that the smaller Whopper Ploppers have which are rolling over and delayed startup. As soon as you start reeling the 90 the tail starts plopping like crazy. The Fusion 19 hooks on both baits are sticky sharp too. All in all I love these baits and will no longer be buying Whopper Ploppers for $17 when these are $10. They're well made, colors look great, they don't roll over, and the tail spins immediately when you start reeling... home run for Berkley on this one.
