Comments: This style drop shot hook is similar to the Gamakatsu Drop Shot / Split Shot Hook : While the quality and consistency are great - the hook design is flawed in that there is not enough gap between the hook point and the hook shank itself to consistently stick fish good and then land the fish. More fish are merely skin hooked and get off easy - however, there is a remedy: Take two pairs of needle nose plyers - one pair to hold the hook shank firmly and the other pair to hold the hook point just behind the barb then gently pull the hook point up / out 1 to 2 degrees to open the hook point up slightly. This will result in an improvement in hooking fish more solidly resulting in more landed fish. The remedy to improve the hook plus hook up percentage is quick and easy. If you prefer not to deal with manually improving this style hook before using then there are better drop shot hooks to be found on the TW website (such as the Owner Mosquito Light hook or the Decoy Shot Rig hooks) for drop shotting with their improved, wider gap design.

Comments: I live and guide on Lake Hartwell, we drop shot all the time. These are my hook of preference, against any other on the market. I recently tried others in the B.A.S.S. Open because I couldn't find any of these, and they failed me miserably. This is thee Drop Shot hook, hands down.

Comments: Not sure where some folks get off calling these garbage..literally have landed every fish ive hooked with these. Super sharp hooks. They have done more then fine on a dropshot. Berkley has honestly impressed me with the quality of these hooks. Ive been fishing all the different models since they have hit the market & these are essentially my budget gamakatsu's.

Comments: I agree with the first review, these hooks have a very low hookup to land percentage. I hooked 8 fish and lost 7 of them the first time they jumped. The one I did land was barely skin hooked. Don't know why they are so bad. Will never use again.

Comments: These are excellent hooks. Normally, I am not a Berkley fan but after using these hooks I am a believer. I have used pretty much every drop shot hook on the market and always occasionally lose fish when they come up and shake their head. After using Fusion19 hooks, I have caught well over 50 fish without losing one. I am not sure what is different but I would recommend these hooks and will be using them tournament time.

Comments: not sure what the other review is complaining about. Historically, Berkley has not been good quality. However, i bought these hooks because they were the only drop hooks in a store. The were sharp, thin enough wire, strong, and had a great hook-up ratio. If you are having hook up ratio problems, I recommend you take a pair of pliers and give the hook a bit of an offset.
