The Berkley Powerbait Ripple Shad features a sleek profile complete with extremely life-like details, including 3D eyes and compelling coloring. The ribs or ripples extending all the way to the bait's tail set it apart from other similar baits on the market, creating additional water disturbance and vibration. The paddle tail still imparts its characteristic vibration and the classic swimming motion of a swimbait, while the Ripple Shad's thick head makes rigging easy and is perfect for holding the keeper of a swimbait hook. The Ripple Shad also benefits from Berkley's legendary Powerbait scent infused into every bait. The Powerbait formula generates a bite when nothing else works and causes fish to hold on 18 times longer than unscented baits. Try fishing the 4" model as a swimbait or on a jig head and the 3" on a drop shot rig. Very verstatile, both sizes of the Berkley Powerbait Ripple Shad will perform in a variety of applications.
Comments: By far one of better swimbaits available. Little tail is perfect for cold water. It's a shame Berkley screws the bait up painting them which makes them stiff. The packaging can also lend itself to bent tails. Glad I know a guy that has a similar mold and get super soft ones that are consistent as well as productive. From: Unknown: Harrisburg, PA 11/16/20
Comments: I've been using these for a few years now and I catch a lot of walleyes and smallmouth bass on them. Most of the time, I rig them on a 1/8 ounce jig with 6# or 8# mono. I especially like using them when fishing rivers from the bank. The clear/gold hologram/black back is easily my favorite color.

Comments: These are the best plastic shad type baits out there for walleyes, sauger and perch. The first time that I used them I was a fan. I was using a regular lift/drop retrieve with a 3" model and could feel the tail vibrate every time I lifted the lure. On my second cast with a 3" pear with a chartreuse tail I got a good thump as the lure swam down to the bottom. I set the hook and pulled in a nice jumbo perch. I caught a dozen more perch that day and a few walleyes as well. During the week I continued to catch big perch, walleye, sauger and a couple bass. The lures held up great, but what I liked the best was that vibrating feeling whenever I lifted the rod tip. It felt like a crankbait vibration. I used 3" and 3.5" lures on 1/8-1/4 ounce jigs and could feel that vibration on every one I used. Great lures and a great price.

Comments: I didn't like these for bass all that much, but the 5" on a 1/2 oz jighead is great for rockfish and lingcod. I caught over 20 in one day with a package.

Comments: The preferred hook to use on these is a jig head but I've been using a 4/0 1/8oz weighted swimbait hook and it works great rigged like that. This is my go to bait and definitely recommend trying to the racy shad color or smelt color.

Comments: SWEET little swimbaits BUT packaging method can have you buying a bag full of tweaked tail baits. YES you can fix them, but just be aware that you may have to.

Comments: What I do with these is a buy a chatter bait mini take the skirt off and add a 3 inch smelt ripple shad and game on kills the smallmouth in my local river.

Comments: fishing this in ontario i had a HUGE follow on the 5" with a 9/0 owner swimbait hook. I think it was a musky, probably 15+ lbs. Followed it all the way back to the dock but didnt commit. Great action, just wish they had some better colours. From: Josh: Canada
