Comments: My swimbait rod barely 2 years old exploded in 2 pieces on a cast and the warranty wouldn't cover it even after sending in both broken pieces and paying for insurance as Dobyns recommends so I had to essentially pay 160$ for a replacement smh. Dobyns rods perform ok but they are fragile AF. The line guides break so easily and I've never had issues with any other good brands. Just spend the extra money on st. Croix or something else and save your time and money.

Comments: They are alright. I don't throw any glides on most of the models. If your looking for a rod to throw hudds or buccas this is it.

Comments: I own four Champion Xp's all of them great rods 794,795,806,836 bucca bull shad collaboration all of those listed great for treble swimbaits the 806 being the stiffest and can probably handle the smaller huds but it doesn't handle the 5.5 oz Explorer Glide very well I think they're all rated way too high for lure weight imho I throw my bigger huds and explorer glide as it's biggest bait I have with an 807 it's made by F5 customs I'm sure the 867 or any of the 7 power rods by Dobyns are good enough for the bigger ones I would think. The Curado 300's and Tranx 300's are amazing on these rods.

Comments: Recently picked up my first Dobyns Champion heavy (2-8oz) Swimbait rod. It throws the 8" hudds perfectly for me. I paired it with the Curado 300 and the set up is light and sensitive. I felt my first bite no question after bouncing along the rocks for the first 10 casts or so. Overall very pleased with the sensitivity and weight.

Comments: I recently got the 806LH model and it's lighter than most Swimbait rods. It's rated 2-8oz but I don'tthink it can handle anything heavier than 3oz....casting an 8in hudds might be too much. Still a nice rod and a rod I fell is designed for the smaller lures...with that said I think it can handle big fish...caught a 4lber the first time out and man handled the fish so I know it's capable of handling bug fish just not sure it can cast big baits.....From: Alex: Los Angeles 12/5/20
Comments:I purchased the 795 SB. The rod seems very odd to me. It almost doesn't load enough to throw things like a 5.5" Shadalicious with a 3/4oz head. Casting distance is like, despite what reel and line I try. When I throw something heavier like a 5.5" Producer solid body swimbait with a 1oz head, the road feels underpowered. The rod is advertised as 1-5oz, but I would not be comfortable throwing anything near the upper range. From: Breck: Tennessee 2/13/20
Recently ordered the 795 SBMT to throw 1-3 ounce swimbaits and topwaters from my kayak. It arrived in perfect condition, as rods ordered from Tackle Warehouse always have for me. I wanted a rod that would do what I wanted but that didn't feel like a huge swimbait rod. This rod definitely doesn't feel like a huge swimbait rod. It is relatively light and has a short handle. It has a somewhat soft tip and throws lures from 1-2.25 ounces well for me. ONE BIG NOTE OF CAUTION: Though this rod is rated for 1-5 ounce lures, I absolutely can't imagine throwing anything above 3 ounces on it. In fact, I was throwing the 2.5oz Gantarel on it and that really felt like all the rod wanted to handle. So, my two cents: if you want a rod for throwing something above 2.25 or 2.5 oz, go for the 796 or the 806. If you want a rod that is going to do a great job throwing lures from 1 oz to 2.25 oz, this is a great option.

Comments:I bought the 867 as my dedicated big bait rod for large, treble hook swimbaits like the Deps 250. Don't trust the top end rating as listed on the rod as it probably handles weights up to 8oz comfortably...any more and the blank bends too much. Otherwise, when paired with a Calcutta 300TE, 400B, or Curado 300 the weight and balance is remarkably good for a very long rod (balance point roughly 1.5 to 2inch above the reel seat). Yes, the rear grip handle is pretty long, but it is why it balances so well, in addition to being a full handle. One thing to mention is that reel seat for this 867 does NOT have an open trigger design on the bottom so you can directly contact the blank. Not sure if this applies to perhaps all the beefier swimbait models. Rod blank is definitely more of a moderate to mod-fast taper which is great for treble hooked baits. Truly satisfied with this purchase!

Comments:The Dobyns Champion XP Swimbait Rod 794 is exactly what I wanted. I wanted a rod with enough backbone to throw 5" & 6" Bull Shads with & have enough tip to absorb the shock of braid. This rod has a good amount of flex to make long casts & plenty of power to fight & play the fish. Using braid with treble hook baits is no problem with this rod because it is more limber at the top so when a fish eats the bait, you don't rip the bait out of the fishes mouth on the hook set. Perfect rod for me & well worth the price. Thank you Dobyns!

Comments:Just got the 794SB rod & it's exactly what I was hoping for. Very lightweight & balanced. I'll have to get another one very soon. Great! I hope the 794SB rod will always been in the lineup of Dobyns rods.

Comments:The 806 XP is the greatest do-it-all swimbait rod available now that they added Fuji guides. I rarely pick up my other swimbait rods now. Perfect for 6" & 8" Hudds. Love the new look too.

Comments:I have 21 Dobyns rods, I have fished many of the top rods on the market & hands down these rods are my favorite, very light, very strong rods from pan fish to ocean rock fish they have a specific rod to handle the job. Thanks, now go rip some lips.

Comments:I recently got my 806 XP. I love it. I have the previous Swimbait rods: 795, 806, 807 champions. The new rod is just as balanced, just as light weight. the reel seat has a nicer finish on it that I like. The new decals are slick looking. The best part everyone will get stoked on... Fuji K-guides! I personally never had issues with my keagan guides over that last 5 years I've had them but I try to take care of my gear. Anyway... They made my favorite Swimbait rods that much better IMO.
