Comments: So I have 2 of these roods a 6'6 med light and the crank bait casting rod. Now I don't have much to compare it to I've never use a 300 dollar rod. With that said these rods are great. They have served me very well with the spinning rod. Usually being my go-to I throw Texas rigs up to a quarter ounce and it handles it very well sensitive to. I believe for this price point one of the better rods you can get it definitely feel like I got my money worth doing this review after 1 year in with the rods

Comments: This Medium 703 is a very strange rod. Its stiffer than my 7-3" Sierra Med/Heavy. So if youre looking for a senstive worm rod or finesse rod this is definately not it. The grip is very thick. The rod is very stiff and thick for a medium. Everything about it is weird. If you want a sensitive spinning Fury, try the Med Light... because this one sure isnt the one for you.... or just get a Sierra. I absolutely love my Sierra.

Comments: The 7' medium spinning is a very stiff medium. I'd probably call it a med heavy. Its a very stout rod. The grip is huge and beefy. Not what I expected. It's stiffer than my Medium Heavy Sierra casting rod. It's a nice rod, but if you're looking for a sensitive worm medium... this is not the one.

Comments: I use the 703sf for weightless soft plastics and any heavier or weedless finesse techniques. It's an extremely versatile rod with enough power to throw a 1/2 oz topwater (all the way across the lake) and enough flex to cast a >1/10 oz ned rig (although the tip is relatively stiff). It's light and sensitive and if I could only take one of my rods to do everything this would probably be it. My only complaint is the handle: it's really short with no foregrip. I know this is a personal preference thing, but I like to hold a spinning rod with my entire hand above the reel leg. This leaves me holding just the blank and the locking nut, which I don't mind so much for certain techniques but it makes things like working a jerkbait really uncomfortable. If you hold a spinning rod like a normal human being (leg between index and middle finger), you'll probably love it.

Comments: The 703SF has been one of my main rods this year; mostly shakey-head & drop-shotting on it. Biggest I've brought in with this bad boy was six pounds, and it handled it great... loads up and has plenty of backbone. Comments: Bought the 7' to horse LMB out of grass in San Diego reservoirs. First time out must have caught and released eight bass in 4 hours. Largest was 3 # and rod worked as advertised. I'm happy with it and happy with Dobyns' philosophy of making an affordable product. As a retiree I cannot afford GLoomis type rods and don't believe many of them would provide the muscle needed for grass fishing anyway.

Comments: Bought the 7' med light for dropshot and small swimbaits and all I can say is what a great rod. The first fish i caught with it was a 3 pound catfish and it handled super well. Comments: Reviewing the 6'6 Med. LT... build quality is amazing and couldn't ask for a more sensitive rod. However this rod taught me a lesson in Rod Action/Power. I'm newer to bass fishing so I bought it as it was advertised as a Shakeyhead/Dropshot rod. I found it very difficult to get proper hook penetration even with exposed Owner Mosquito hooks, and it was nearly impossible to set the hook on a weedless Shakeyhead. That being said I plan on using the 6'6 for panfish in the future, and picking up the 7' Medium for drop shots and Shakeyheads. Overall I would recommend the Fury series and Dobyns as a company, their warranty is amazing and like I mentioned above the build quality is superb, just don't go off the "Recommended" uses for the rod.

Comments: These are great rods for the money. I have 8 fury series rods. Using a fast action tip for small cranks will pull the treble out of there mouth, you need something with moderate action to keep the fish pinned. I have made the same mistake in the past and lost fish.

Comments: I've had the 7' medium light rod for awhile now replacing a 13 fishing rod I dropped overboard in the delta. I was pretty excited to get this rod, but after fishing it for several months I don't particularly love it. Has pretty good hookup to landed ratio but the tips very soft and not overly sensitive. Basically just setting the hook when the rod loads. Not detecting any bites through the blank. Personally wouldn't buy again.

Comments: I recently bought the 6'6" medium, and I have to say, the power rating on that rod is laughably exaggerated. It says it's a good all-purpose spinning rod, but I couldn't keep 12" smallmouth pinned with it fishing anything other than treble-hook crankbaits. I do not recommend them for anything other than drop-shot. They just have no power.

Comments: Its simple, dont even consider another rod in the $100 range. This is the best rod that money can buy. It is lightweight, sensitive, durable and literally perfectly thought-out. I have owned the 7' MF since the day the Fury line came out and couldn't possibly be happier. I have spent more hours with this rod in my hand than any other I own. The reason for that, its the most versatile rod in the game able to do any finesse application out there from drop-shotting all the way to weightless. I have tried other rods of the price point like the Mojo Bass 7' MF and its just not as good. There is something to say about Dobyns rods as everyone I have ever spoken to swears by them. I have used every tier in the Dobyns line of rods(Fury all the way to Champ Extreme) and couldn't say one negative thing about them. To keep it simple, if youre considering buying a rod in the $100 range-dont. Just go ahead and get a Fury.

Comments: Great series! It has great sensitivity, it's reasonably light, and it feels solid. It has a good backbone, and some tip action but not a whole lot. I prefer this series for my "heavier" wire hooks, but still for finesse techniques. The 7ft medium is a great rod for ned rigs, small underspins or swimbaits, Neko rigs, and Shakey heads. This is definitely a type of rod that I'd buy 5-10 of the same rod just due to the overall Price and the quality. In my opinion it is equivalent to a loomis e6x, if not better, and that rod is double the price!! Get a few of these ( spinning and casting) Medium, med lt, and med heavy are the way to go for casting and spinning!

Comments: 7ft ML, Got this rod for dropshotting. Although you can fish dropshot on this rod with its soft tip, I was surprised with the backbone of this rod. I believe you can fish wacky rigs,shaky heads, and small Texas rigs on this rod. Very good and sensitive rod, with 15lb braid main line, and 10 lb flouro leader.

Comments: I bought the FR 661SF for smallmouth. After researching several Drop shot type rods, I settled on the Dobyns because it looked like it would fit the bill, reviews online and warranty. I finally got a chance to try it out this past weekend. The rod is every bit sensitive as I had hoped and some. I paired it w/ the Kastking Mela 1000 light weight spinning reel loaded w/ 20 lb. braid; could throw 1/8 oz. jig w/ a 3" grub a country mile effortlessly. I can't wait to start throwing weightless tube baits in that gin clear New River water! By the way, the guys at TW are great to work with!

Comments: Purchased the 663 and I like the backbone of the rod. The handle is a bit short and I agree with Jim from the previous comment that for people with large hands, it's tough to grip comfortably. The handle is a little shorter than I am used to as well. Still, I like the overall look and quality of the rod for this price range. The sensitivity is pretty decent. Overall, a good rod. Like it better than my St Croix's.

Comments: Great blank, mediocre handle. I picked the rod up for my finesse fishing a few weeks ago. I absolutely love the feel and it's very lightweight. I have it paired with a Mitchell 308 Pro. The blank is wonderful, and the guides are very nice. My hookups are good with the fast action for senkos. My only qualm is that the handle is awful. It's very small for larger hands, and there's no cork at all above the reel seat to rest the rest of your hand. If you hold your spinning reel with the support arm between your index and middle finger you might be okay. But the majority of folks I know hold their spinning reels with the support arm between their middle and ring finger, or are like me and hold the rod between their ring and pinky finger. If you hold your rod like this you'll be feeling mostly plastic. The handle seems to be made with casting setups in mind.

Comments: I have both of these rods, the lighter one paired with an Okuma Helios for dropshot and the heavier sporting a Shimano Sahara for senkos. I must say, the distance on the casts and the overall stiffness of the rods is outstanding for finesse applications. Normally you'd think the rod should be super light and flexible but these things are stiffer and balanced, perfect for wacky rigs and dropshot. Heck, I even throw jigs and frogs on the 703. Theyre also very durable as they have survived a few garage door incidents and several boat flipped fish. Great rods!

Comments: Just got this rod in the mail today, so I haven't got a chance to test it on some fish, but it feels great! The handle is a little short for what I'm used to but it really fits well. I got the medium light for dropshot and wacky rigging. It feels like I'm going to like it. As far as shipping goes, I had never ordered a rod online until now, and tackle warehouse did an excellent job with packaging. I will be getting a few more in the next couple weeks!
Comments: I recently purchased both the Dobyns Fury Med & Med Lt rods. I paired each with a Pflueger Supreme XT spinning reel. They both are very light and sensitive and I am very impressed with their performance for the price. I use them primarily for smallmouth and they haven't failed me yet

Comments: I purchased the 7" medium, fast action for bass fishing. I have had this rod for 4 days now and all I can say is wow. Over the past 4 days I have caught over 100 bass, a 32" carp, and a 46-50" Muskie. I am not even joking it's actually unbelievable. I paired it up with a Shimano Symetre 2500 with 10lb power pro. I have only fished with it for a few days but I'm confident you can fish any type of bait with. Definately the best bang for your buck with this combo.

Comments: I have a 7' fury spinning medium power I've used for walleye jigging 1/4 jig and minnow combos & bass fishing unweighted flukes and senkos it's a little stiff for a medium I would rate it as a xtra fast action note sure what dobyns has it listed as. Lightweight for this price point feels lighter than a bass mojo or a new E6x. The rod feels comparable to a Abu veritas which I also find lightweight and stiffer than the listed action . All around great rod I want more
