Overview
Designed by FLW Tour pro, Shinichi Fukae, the Gamakatsu G-Finesse Weedless Wacky Hook features a unique and an innovative weedguard system that allows anglers to get their finesse presentations into places that were previously impossible to reach. Featuring a double-pronged titanium wire weedguard that is solidly encased and directly molded to the hook shank so it won’t come loose, it is extremely thin gauge wire that retains its shape, but is flexible enough to compress with even the gentlest nibbles.
Made from Gamakatsu’s Tournament Grade Wire, which has a 20% thinner diameter wire faster hook penetration, it still maintains the strength to haul in the biggest bass in the lake. It also features Gamakatsu’s exclusive Nano Smooth Coat finish for a stealthier presentation and reduced friction during the hook set as well. Available in a wide range of sizes, the Gamakatsu G-Finesse Weedless Wacky Hook is the go-to hook for getting finesse presentations into heavy cover.

Comments: Hands down the best weedless wacky hook on the market. The weed guards are just stiff enough to keep from getting hung up but soft enough to get a solid hook up on fish. They hold up a lot better than others I've used too. Absolutely worth the money.

Comments: After getting beat by the wacky rig a zillion times, I decided to learn it. It works. This is the hook you need. I tried a lot of different hooks. Yeah, these cost, BUT if you dont waste a bunch of cash trying other hooks and go straight to these, it evens out.

Comments: Yes, they are expensive relative to other hooks. If I am going to throw wacky, and I know I am throwing it at ledges or areas where I think I can avoid needing a weed guard, I choose a cheaper option. If there is ever a doubt in my mind, or I want a bulletproof option. This is it. Period. As far as the weed guard. It is just seems to be luck of the draw. I had one where the only time I lost the guard is after I lost the whole hook. This is after pulling in fish all day, two consecutive days including two 6lbers. And I will tell you, to get that hook out you are sometimes cranking those guards any which way. I have had another ones where it seemed to randomly fall off after 1 fish. If I want zero doubt, this is the hook I use.

Comments: As others have echoed, the weed guard will eventually twist or break off --- HOWEVER --- after having fished many different hooks for the wacky presentation, this hook gives me the best chance to land a fish once its hooked. Using it almost exclusively to skip docks, I might loose 1 for every 10 I put in the boat. Other hooks I've tried don't come close.

Comments: Like others have stated below, the weed guard has a bad tendency to break off or slide down. With that said these hooks are extremely sharp and have an excellent hookup ratio compared to some of the other wacky hooks I have tried. Definitely on the pricey side at almost $2.50 PER HOOK. If I was going out to throw a wacky all day this probably would not be my hook of choice. However in a tournament setting where every bite counts, I go with these.

Comments: One of the best wacky hooks on the market. The weed guard will break and come loose after a few fish. I've started the epoxy the weed guard and this has made a huge difference.

Comments: These hooks are very strong for their size and sharp with a nice Nano Smooth Coat finish that I believe helps in hooking the fish. As far as I am concerned it is one of the best weedless wacky hooks out there. Great for pulling big fish out of heavy cover. The concept with a double pronged titanium wire weedguard is fantastic but as others have stated, not very durable. The weedguard has a tendency to come loose at the soldered base and the wire tends to breaks off after just a few fish. I have even tried to epoxy the weedguard in place which helps but it's not the answer. Gamakatsu offers quality hooks and would have a winner with this particular one if they could fix the weedguard issue.

Comments: Hands down the best wacky rig hook on the market. Pricey but worth every penny. The weed guard holds up really well unlike most others.

Comments: Weed guards break off after a handful of fish. 3 out of the 4 hooks have lost one or both of their guards after catching 5 or so fish each. The harness that holds the guards on the hook is metal (I think aluminum) and it seems to weaken the guards when they bend. Very sharp for good hook ups, but they're just not durable.

Comments: great hook however on the first fish the solder broke loose. which allowed the weedguard to slide down and spin.
