Some experienced anglers have discovered the secret of a big, flat paddle tail. When you swim a soft plastic bait with these tails they will flap and vibrate with a thump hard enough you can feel it in your rod almost like a crankbait. Fish respond to this thump and the smaller profiles of the soft baits can get bit even better. Gambler has produced possibly the ultimate paddle tail soft bait, the Flappin' Shad. The front half of the Flappin' Shad is built like the standard fluke style soft jerk bait with a fish shape and a cut in the belly for your hook, but the back half features a long, thin tail with a big paddle for maximum flapping and thumping. Now, when you twitch your soft jerk bait you'll have the added advantage of the flapping tail, or rig the Flappin' Shad weedless on a darter head and swim it through heavy cover like a weedless crankbait for a presentation few fish have ever seen. As with all Gambler soft plastic baits the Flapping Shad is loaded with Bang pure crawdad and shad oils.
Comments: I love flippin and pitchin this bait behind others tossing jigs and creature baits. I like to Texas rig them on 3/16 oz. Bullet weight on 12# line.

Comments: Solid bait. When you fish it on a weightless texas rig, giving it a jerk really makes the tail kick. I find the best way to fish them is just like any other fluke-style bait. These things are also killer on a drop shot

Comments: Phenomenal bait that seemlessly transcends from fresh to saltwater. The 6" is my go to soft plastic for targeting big trout along the Texas Coast. Aside from being a little soft, the action and profile easily make up for it in terms of fish catching. Couldn't be more satisfied, just wish Tackle Wharehouse more of Gamblers colors.

Comments: Probably the best soft jerk bait I've ever used. Too many big fish to count. Great over and around pads, as well as, open water. Have hammered river smallies with the 4". Gambler got it right years ago. Just wish they still made the rainbow trout color.

Comments: works really well on the slow retrieve, has too much action as a trailer. Like a fluke with a ton of drawing power...
From: Unknown: 6/22/17
Comments: On a slow or even very slow retrieve, the flap gives that bait a natural swimming action that's better than anything else I've tried over the years. My favorite by far in spring & any time the water's cold. Also excellent under many other conditions using faster speeds.

Comments: one of the best baits of all time my dad caught a 12.9lb Lake Toho Giant on the color smoke & gold! this bait kinda died out for a lot of Florida boys but trust me its a true fish catcher!i have caught a bunch of nice bass on these as well!
From: Anthony: Florida 10/20/15
Comments: Great lure, super action whether swimming or on the drop. Hollow body improves hook set. Definitely requires no smaller than 4/0 hook. Nice colors too. Pretty durable considering the tail gets a lot of hits. Need to let the fish take and chew on it. From: Steve: West Milford, NJ
