Comments: This is a great frog in almost every department IF you tweak it a little bit after taking it out of the package. I like to boil these a little because the plastic is very tough, and I like to bend the hooks out because there isn't much room to hook the fish once they have the frog in their mouth. The hooks that come on these things are very high quality but are prone to dulling after heavy use. I would sharpen them every now and again. Overall, this is one of my favorite frogs I've ever used because of how well it spits and walks. I mostly use this frog around fairly heavy cover but I've seen people fish open water with this fella. If I could have one color it would be Gold Gill, but I usually use this system to match the hatch: -I pick up a Black Gill Gavacho: if the water is super dirty and I just wanna get bit -I pick up a Chart Strike Gill pattern Gavacho: if I'm fishing in the spring and the main forage is bluegill, -I pick up a Gold Gill Gavacho: if the water is not super stained and I want to see if they will bite a Gavacho, or if the main forage is bluegill but the bluegill don't have any chartreuse on them. -I pick up a Lime Frog Gavacho: If I see lots of bullfrogs in the water/I see bass feeding in areas with heavy vegetation/lily pads with frogs on them. -I pick up a Red Frog Gavacho: If bass could be feeding on frogs that ARENT bullfrogs, such as pickerel frogs/ also just a good all around clear water color. -I pick up a White Gavacho: If bass are feeding on baitfish like shad, etc../or if you are fishing areas were the bass are very active and you want to fire them up. Of course there are exceptions to this list, and sometimes the bass will eat any color as long as you put it in front of their face. This is just a good list to use if you are going in bling with this frog. Another thing with this frog is, I've found that because of the way that the hooks are shaped, you shouldn't set the hook straight up vertically. I like a diagonal hookset that is almost completely vertical but not quite, as I've found that it increases my hookup ratio. Be patient with this frog because sometimes sinks will have trouble getting it in their mouth. You will catch big fish on this bait if you put in the time. I know I just wrote a whole essay on this bait but I hope that it helps.

Comments: I call this the high risk high reward frog. It gets tons of bites. I've had 20+ bites in 2 trips with it and only hooked 1 fish but it was a 7lber. I tweaked the hooks and tried the legs and cannot hook any of my bites. I'm reeling down feeling the weight swing and all I get is a frog to my chest. But it walks super easy and it draws bites but what good is it when your 1 for 20???

Comments: You see this frog and think because of the thick/hard body that the hookup ratio will be terrible, but that is simply not the case. The hookup ratio is great, as good or better than any frog I use. This thing walks extremely well, and bass EAT it. Highly recommended.

Comments: As some have said, the body material is a tad stiffer than other frogs. But I don't know if I've just gotten lucky, or what, but my hook-up ratio is great with the Gavacho. Best walking frog I've ever tried, and I've tried pretty much everything. Easily my favorite frog for open water froggin'

Comments: This is an amazing frog!! They walk like a dream! The colors are also great. The body is a bit tough so I recommend boiling. Other than that it is an amazing frog!

Comments: Oaky! I did a frog comparison this evening. Yes-the Gavacho is unbelievably easy to walk, beats anything I've seen in other brands. BUT-I missed every fish that busted it tonight, which was several bass, at least eight or ten strikes. However, while fishing my other favorite frog- The Scum Frog Launch Series Sloppy Toad, difficult to walk, but it can be done. I caught and landed four out of five bass that hit it. A 2-1/2lb bass was the smallest of the four. YES! The Gavacho did get me twice the strikes, but was useless if you can't hook em and land em. I came home and used a pair of "needle nose type" Vise-Grips and forced the hooks out away from the body enough to see an air gap. I plan on laying it on the dashboard of my truck for a few days and hopefully soften it up a bit. Wish me luck---again this thing walks like a dream!

Comments: Have a love and hate relationship with this frog. It walks better than any frog i have used, you can work it fast or slow, unique shape, good in open water or over mats (which many popping frogs arent), and has caught me some big frog fish. The tough plastic isnt a huge issue, if the fish eats it good and you set the hook hard as you should it doesnt hinder the hookup. The issue i have with it is the hooks. They are sharp, and stout, won't ever bend out, but since they're round bend instead of wide gap frog hooks the bite is so small it lowers your hookup ratio and it makes it easier for them to get off. And i've also noticed that the large majority of my fish are hooked in the bottom of the mouth with 1 hook instead of top of the mouth with both (how i usually hook fish on a frog). Might be the combination of the hook type and how its positioned on the body to make it weedless. I can't stop throwing it because it gets bit like crazy and it does catch fish, but those few flaws are always worrying me in the back of my mind when i throw it. If they changed the hooks to wide gap and let them ride parallel to the body just a hint below the back of the bait i think itd be just as weedless but the hookups would skyrocket, you'd hook them better, and you'd have nothing to worry about while fighting them. Not sure if other people with some say so have expressed this to Jackall but id love to see a 2.0 of this bait.

Comments: Very simply out of all the frogs i have thrown this is easily, very easily the most productive frog i have ever used. And funny thing is it has taken me a year to finally just accept this sucker is an absolute rock star. Everytime i pick it up it produces. My draw back and why it has taken my stubbornness to except is when you first get this frog. Its a thicker and a little bit firmer from to the touch than most the other solid frogs out there. Just a little. And the way the hooks (which are super sharp) are designed on purpose to fit tight to the body in the slots alongside the frog and even after giving a tweak you still look at it and think how am i going to hook anything. Well dont be a fool as i have been. No other frog and i mean none has the hook up ratio i get with the Gavacho. And the amount of strikes i get on this compared to all the other brands is simply laughable. And i usually have four frogs on deck at all times. And as far as work ability? I cant even give this frog its due on the ease and different options and this frog has. If they want it fast you can work this like a spook, If they want it noisy no problem pop it like a Rico / Popper. Want is quite and subtle twitch in place like a Gunfish or a Vixen. The hooks are tucked like that cause the places i have put this bait are like no other spots i have over attempted in my life. After fishing tournaments for 30 years and now just doing it for the love it fires me up to learn more and more about bass fishing. Im in AZ and have been fishing in a less that a foot since May 7 in the same are on one of my favorite lakes in the world. Water temp has been in the mid 90's for almost 2 months and we have been over 110 almost every day. And the biggest fish in that damn lake are still up in inch of water but in stuff the normal angler would simply laugh if they seen where i throw. But this bait can do that. It get in there and gets out and has the toughness to rip through all the dead trees on those off cast where you arent going to even get close to get it out. If your a long time frogger or today is your first day to ever shop for fishing tackle. One of the first baits that need to be in your box is the Gavacho. HOME RUN. Would tell you my favorite but there isn't one in the united states of america available right now and i need a few. But you guys know the color. But honestly doesnt matter. I have them all and have caught with all of them.

Comments: This is a fish catcher, caught so many fish on it, multiple 3 and 4 pounders not big to many but solid fish, walks really well, great for matted grass due to the hook shape, I would definitely recommend, stout hooks, I use a medium heavy it's enough but tighten your drag and set the hook hardFrom: Unknown: 7/27/20
Comments: Amazing frog, easy to walk with great side to side action, if you fish Matted grass I definitely recommend it the hooks are positioned to perfectly avoid grass, use a heavy rod medium heavy will do but make sure you set the hook hard, hooks are stout, also leave it out a day smells like paint out of the package, great frog definitely a great baitFrom: Unknown: 7/20/20
Comments: IMO the hooks are way too low/tight to the body and the plastic is pretty tough so does not collapse a ton. It's weedless but the hookup ratio suffers. I tried bending the hooks out but the hook is very strong and I could not bend it.From: Jon: Texas 7/19/20
Comments: This thing is awesome first cast fish on, caught a couple first day I fished with it walks AMAZING super easy to walk, great around grass because of the way the hooks are kept, awesome just one thing is it has a strong paint smell, and paint comes of a bit fast but leave it out and the paint smell will come off but other than tht amazing frog would recommendFrom: Unknown: 6/24/20
Comments: If you can't walk this frog, your not a frog fisherman. By far my favorite frog. PERIOD! All I throw these days. Bend the hooks up and your in there for the WIN! Walk, walk, walk, then a pop and hold on. Favorite colors Black, White and Chart Gill. These things get CRUSHED! Pair them up with a high speed reel, heavy braid and a good heavy action frog rod and your in there. From: Unknown: Chipley, FL 6/4/20
Comments: Frog gets a lot of attention but it's not that soft and you need to bend the hooks way out. Maybe mine was just a dud but the paint was completely gone in two days. From: Keeton: Georgia 5/26/20
Comments: One of the best frogs I've ever thrown. Caught several fish this year alone, which is odd considering the temperatures in MO haven't been ideal for throwing frogs. The bass crush it. I'll be buying a few more to add to my collection. From: John: 5/8/20
Comments: Do you like bone breaking blow-ups? If so boy is this frog for you the bass absolutely pummel this thing they absolutely hate this frog but it's super easy to walk makes a lot of splash it's great from beginners and experts alike. Most definitely will buy moreFrom: Hunter: Dinwiddie, VA 3/28/20
Comments: This frog gets bit. Easiest frog to walk among the dozen brands I own. Hooks need to be bent waaay out. From: Unknown: Thomsons Station, TN 10/27/19
Comments: this frog walks so good you can prob walk it with a stick !! caught so many bass on it this year up to 5 pounds in the deepest of cover to open water points ! ill be using this frog for rest of my life, my bag of every other frog is just sitting there because this frog out fishes them all not even close, i would say my fav color but then they will be out of stock again haha turn hooks up and out a little just to be 100 percent hookup ratio and when there hooked boy there hooked also dont change hooks on these it messes up weight so once these hooks are done just buy more frogs !!From: Austin: NY 6/21/19
Comments: have no idea what don the guy below is saying. literally the easiest frog to walk. better than any spro i've ever used. if you can't walk this frog. its probably user error. will say that the plastic is a little tough so hook ups might go down a little but it sure attracts the big ones.
From: Unknown 8/29/18
Comments: The first sentence in the description of this bait is absolutely correct. Amazed how well the works in all aspects from action to hook-up ratio. Tournament win first time really using this frog.
From: Carl - Michigan 8/16/18
Comments: Wow....this may be the best frog on the market. Seems like it catches fish every time I throw it. Bass hit this thing so hard. Great hook up ratio too------ Just pull it out of the box and start popping, walking or slow twitching it......
From: JOHNNIE: Lancaster, KY 6/12/18
Comments: I like it. It is NOT easier to walk than any other frog though. It is not too difficult to walk it, but the Spro and Terminator are easier to walk for me. However it does get bit. Just another frog to fill my addiction. Hookup is again, about the same any others so far. Cool frog for sure, but nothing spectacular.
From: Don: OHIO 5/18/18
Comments: I love this frog! Pops and walks better than the Spro. Soft body provides an excellent hook up rate. Colors are very realistic.
From: Dave: California 9/26/17
Comments: I was originally attracted to this frog for it's aesthetics but after trying it a few times it is now my favorite hollow body popping lure. Like the other said, it walks extremely well and has a profile that would resemble a frog or a bait fish. What I love most about the frog is its versatile popping action. It can give subtle popping action to violent bursts and causing commotion in the water. The latter has worked well for me in moving water or slightly windy conditions when I really needed to get the bass' attention.
From: Profishency: Fairfax, VA 9/23/17
Comments: I have used many frogs over the years including the famous spro popping frog. However I will never buy another popping as long as this is being sold on the market. This thing walks easier than a spook, the hooks are great and I love to use the white ,the 3 legs imitates shad better than just the regular two legs which makes it a great frog when bass are eating shad. Best frog on the market hands down.
From: Zach: Kentucky 6/11/17
Comments: The Best Frog on the market! Walks with ease, aggressively pops or super subtle for the ultimate finesse approach. Hook up ratio is truly unmatched! Colors catch bass not just fisherman! If like Spro try the Gavacho it won't disappoint.
From: Big Wheelz Bassin: Apopka, FL 3/20/17
Comments: Wow. That is the best word for this frog. It walks better that a spro popping frog and better than some frogs that a made for walking. Make sure you have a heavy to extra heavy rod because the hooks are huge and take a lot to drive them all the way through. 9/10 great frog.
