**Closed length of 9' Telescopic rod is 7'8"**
Comments: I have the 7'6" mh and the 6'8" mh. Both really good blanks.6'8" makes a really good squarebill, spinnerbait and lighter bladed jig rod, good for around tight cover. 7'6" is what I throw 5xds,6xds and any other crankbaits that weigh over a 1/2 oz. like others have said the only downside of these rods is the guides. They are some very tiny micro guides that look like they are going to break. I have never had a problem but I have only ever used 12-15 pound floroclear. Would not use with braid and defiantly not with braid to leader. You will rip some guides clean off with a leader knot. Really good blanks tho.

Comments: I got the Med 7 footer. It's more like a MH. That is about only thing I don't like about it, as I needed a M action crank rod, not an MH. It's a sensitive rod but a little cumbersome because it is like a broomstick down by the handle. I cranked all day with it and I'm a little worn out, honestly.
From: Jason: 10/3/22
Comments: I've used this rod approximately 10 times & liked it alot, until it snapped in half while casting a squarebill! This is the 2nd lew's rod that I've had that snapped in half, while casting! Love their reels but their rods are crap! Very disappointed.
From: Tom T.: Goose Creek 7/31/22
Comments: I fished with mine yesterday for the first time. Yes, the blank is like a broomstick near the reel handle, but the rod is light and not cumbersome. I am a fan!

Comments: The Lew's 9'0 cranking rod paired with a Mann's 30+ deep diving crank bait will get you to depths unknown. This is a tournament winner no doubt. Put your crank bait in front of Bass that are use to seeing jigs and worms and you will have a blast. Go to depths where no crank bait has gone before.

Comments: Last year I purchased the 7'6" Medium Heavy - Moderate action and used it several times before the exact same problem others reported with a very pronounced "grinding" noise developed when reeling. This eventually culminated in me losing one of my best True South chatterbaits when it eventually cut the line and sent it sailing off in the distance. The positives... the rod mid-section itself is very stout for horsing fish and strong hooksets, and the upper & tip have good action and hook setting for vibrating jigs and medium diving cranks. Negatives... I had the guides removed, then reinstalled guides from a broken Dobyns rod and now it works great... but it cost me another $80 to the rod repair shop. For that price, I could have purchased a more premium MH cranking rod, saved my chatterbait from the abyss and saved myself headache and effort. I'm a big Lew's fan, but it is disappointing that Lews Pro Staff and David Fritts obviously did not conduct multiple day lake tests on this rod or they would have seen the inferior quality of the guides.
From: Mike: Climax, NC 10/17/21
Comments: Bought this rod to run cranks from a 4.0 squarebill to a 10xd. Im a little nervous about the guides popping out and the tip shredding my line. So, I did an old man's trick, clear fingernail polish around the guide inserts. Used it a few times and haven't had any issues thus far. I suppose if the end guide starts to shred my braid, I will remove all of the inserts and go alum inserts.
From: Unknown: 7/4/21
Comments: I gave these rods a chance because of the price and the name on them. The medium rod was ok for shallow crankbaits and rattle traps but the MH was a board. I could not get use to throwing deep crankbaits on it. Finally, like the rest of the comments the guides failed. First, making a grinding noise when I retrieved my baits then breaking my line when I was trying to lip a fish. Switched rods and the problems are gone. Do not buy!
From: Ted: Virginia 6/13/21
Comments: I was excited for this rod at this price-point, but was sorely disappointed. The blank is pretty good, but as many other reviews have pointed out, the guides are awful. I used this rod maybe 4 or 5 outings before the tip started shredding my line. I was using 8lbs P-line CXX mono too, so not thick stuff. I returned it and will be looking elsewhere. You'd think with multiple negative reviews about just one single issue, Lew's would make some changes.
From: Patrick: 11/28/20
Comments: I bought this rod because I have always been a Lews fan, that really messed this one up. I had the rod two weeks and I hooked into a e pounder on a 10XDand the rod snapped. Extremely disappointed. From: Unknown: 5/14/20
Comments: I paired this (MH) with a Lew's LFS 6:8:1 and 12lb suffix flouro. Have been utilizing it for 15-25ft crankbaits. Has worked very well for me. No problems so far. Used it multiple times over the last couple months at Bay Springs for big spots. Throws 3/8 & 1/2oz lures very well and feels great in hand. From: Billy: Mississippi 12/4/19
Comments: Killer blank, be prepared to change the guides please keep that in mind! If you use a braid to flouro connection. It took two casts with a 5inch swim bait to completely remove the inserts on the top 6 guides. Come on lews get it right, especially with David Fritts name on it what a shame. From: Michael: Ormond Beach 10/20/19
Comments: Good rod for the money. I use it for medium diving crank baits and LV500s. Worked great for a few months then the rod tip guide started chewing line up. Ended up cutting the tip off and replacing it out on the water. Seems to be a trend with the Fritts series rods. The rod is light for a glass rod and the handle feels good in the hand for hours at a time. Would consider buying another but I would replace the tip first thing.
From: Tim: California 9/3/19
Comments: The 9' 0" MH crank bait rod is perfect. The tip is fast, it bends into back bone very nicely. The rod is very.....Light weight!! Good stick, all around. From: David: Oakley 7/8/19
Comments: 7'11" I throw 1/8th to 1/4oz underspins for speckled trout/reds/flounder with it a very long way.Have a tournament mb on it balances well fish for hours no complaints, will buy another.Thank you tackle warehouse for excellent shipping/packing:) as always.Excellent company both lew's and tackle warehouse! From: Michael: Ormond Beach 6/7/19
Comments: These rods are great. The rod actually is 92 percent glass, and the rest is graphite. The rod it self is great. BUT!!!!!!!! like most of the other reviews, there is one issue. There is a guide that tears up the fishing line. I have two of these rods, and both of them have the same issue. I think it is the tip, the very tip top guide that is tearing up the line. I can hear it, but am unsure as to which guide it is. If anyone happens to figure it out, please post a review.
From: David: Oakley 7/1/19
Comments: Bought this rod a couple months ago, used three times, and the top line guide cracked. It's not a bad rod, it just don't have good enough guides for how quality the rod is. Also I feel the only thing else besides the guides that needs a change is the grip, it's too short and hard handle and cast. Other then that it's what you expect from a $80 rod, might have to buy a replacement guide for the tips if you buy this rod. From: Zach: Michigan 5/18/19
Comments: Alright all, first I bought the more expensive graphite rods for cranking and (probably due to inexperience) kept missing fish at the boat even when I didn't allow slack. Anyway since I bought these, with fiberglass composite construction, I have not had one throw my lure. No eyelet problems yet but got tired of missing fish with the more expensive stuff. My two cents and let someone else catch that hawg!
From: Greg: Santee Cooper 5/24/18
Comments: The guides are pure junk. I actually love the blank and still love the feel of this in my hand, but it gets old replacing guides on a brand new rod because they crack and shred your line. I have barely used this rod, and keep all my sticks in a rod glove when I'm not using them. You can probably tell I'm a little bitter about this.
From: Zack: WV 3/5/18
Comments: We had 75* weather in February this week. I got out and through a 110 with this rod and it handled the 2lbers that I caught. Not very light weight but light in terms of glass rods. Well balanced. I look forward to spring when I can run this rod though the ringer.
From: Unknown - New Jersey 2/23/18
Comments: Santa brought me this rod last Christmas. I have used it many days catching lots of fish. From big stripers to smallies and largemouth, it has been great catching all kinds of fish. I have it paired with a Lews BB1 and it casts a mile. Great feel and sensitivity. Very good at hooksets. Love the quality of this rod. Have thrown anything from Bandit 100 to Norman DD22 and it casts them all very well. Great rod for the money.
From: Brian: Henderson, NV 7/20/17
Comments: Rod was lighter than the Wright McGill I have, so that was good. The bad was the the guides are pretty cruddy. First time out, the tip shreds my line. I get to replace the tip and re-spool. Yes, I could return it, but if the same thing happens again, I'm right back where I started. So, I just decided to go ahead and replace the tip. Maybe next time I will get to use it more than a few casts.

Comments: Picked up a 6'8 mh from local shop, sorry tw. Love the cork handle. Feels pretty lite and balanced. Have used it with Flourocarbon and braid. Handles braid pretty good. Soft tip but great backbone. I went down to my own pond yesterday to try a pop-r with braid on it and landed one that went 8.6. With all the rain we have had the bank was flooded and pretty slick so I was nervous but I picked it up and flipped it onto the bank. And I still have a rod in one piece. Will be buying other sizes if I don't switch brands. Am not sponsored by anyone just like to use all one brand.
From: Joe: Eubank, KY 5/8/17
Comments: I spent 80$ wanting to get into crankbait fishing and thank god I went with this rod. Cheap, dependable, and a workhorse. I can throw small square bills as well as 6XDs and haul fish in no problem. Have won some good money on this rod.
From: Unknown Austin,Texas 3/6/17
Comments: I have fished on the tournament trail with this rod and it was very dependable. It held up well to boat abuse and shore line fishing in some rugged places. The rod guides are very strong. The parabolic flex of this glass composite rod was great for throwing swim baits, traps, spinner baits, crankbaits and chatterbaits from the Upper Bay to the Potomac. My hook up percentage was in the high 90's. I rarely lost a fish. Whether they hit at the end of a long cast or short striked at the boat the rod performed great. I bagged my PB of 5.6 lbs with this rod and it was able to handle it with no problems. Don't let the price fool you this is a great rod!
From: Rocky74: Maryland 12/15/16
Comments: Purchased the 6'8" MH, awesome rod. With the moderate action, used it for spinnerbait chatterbait & swim jig. rod action sets the hook no problem on these baits.
From: Mike: CT 5/9/16
Comments: This is the best crankbait rod I have ever used & I have used a lot of different brands. The tip is very soft but the rod has great backbone when you need it. For a glass/graphite composite rod it is very light well balanced.
From: Nutty: Greenbow, AL 9/10/15
Comments: I recently purchased one of these, and on the second cast, the rod snapped about 3 guides down. Not saying its bad quality, maybe I cast too hard. I emailed them about it and I instantly had a replacement in the mail. Great customer service!
From: Chance: Hayward, WI 8/11/15
Comments: All I can say is it's the best rod I've ever owned in this price range. Launches big cranks a mile, nice sensitivity, handles fish like a glass rod should, not light but not heavy (like most glass rods), looks great and has nice micro line guides toward the tip. Buy it if you need a nice, surprisingly cheap deep cranking riod!
From: John: Houston, TX 5/26/15
Comments: very good quality rod. Handles the fish well and has soft enough tip not to rip the hook out. I definitely recommend this rod for anyone looking for a good crank bait rod.
