Comments: There is NO WAY that a Duke is better than this bait. Why? This bait casts a mile and has caught fish for probably 20+ years now. How about that Duke? Nope. This bait is also WAY more versatile. Ignore the silly claims of others and try this one.
From: O'Billy Dudewright: 6/13/23
Comments: The LV 500 is quite simply the best heavy, loud lipless on the market. It's caught me bass, catfish, wipers, stripers, and trout. One thing though for the braid guys out there. These baits are 3/4 oz. I've seen braid up to 40# break instantly on several occasions on botched casts with these lures even with shock leaders. After snapping off many baits, I've now ditched the braid for this lure.

Comments: This isn't going to be a popular opinion but I just don't get the hype around these lipless. The paint comes off instantly, constantly foul hooking on itself. Is it better than the run of the mill sk lipless, sure? But it's nowhere near worth this price. I urge you to give the Duke 65 a try before spending this kind of money on the Lv. The Duke is better in every way. Period.

Comments: Fellas! I can't stress enough also work these baits like you would a spoon .. year round .. the lv500 is phenomenal when worked like a spoon .. I catch them on lake mead down to 80 feet .. striper love em.

Comments: So, like many other anglers, I thought that LC baits were expensive & that there were other baits that were just as good at 1/3 the price! Well, in this case, I was wrong...really wrong. Lol. At a recent tournament, my partner was throwing the LV 500 in a shad color. I was throwing a SK red eye in the same color. He caught 3 times more bass, until I put on the same bait & caught a 5.7lber! I can't explain what the difference is but I know that this bait out performed the 2 other lipless that I was throwing!

Comments: Purchased several in December 2020 in the ghost minnow and wakin color. Been fishing them all winter in 35-39 degree water on Cape Cod with great success. Well worth the investment!
From: Mike: Boston 3/1/21
Comments: Not sure what the over rated comment is about, however these baits are not. The LV500 is a solid lure that does catch more than your average amount of fish. I find that it most likely is due to a unique rattle that appears to put off a more dull, subtle vibration and for whatever reason, the fish smash this thing! It is worth the price tag for sure! From: JD: Florida 12/22/20
Comments: These are the most innovative lipless baits made. And the fact that they sink horizontal and sit upright on the bottom, which a Redeye Shad doesn't, makes these a terrific cold water lipless when fished with a yo-yo retrieve. Unbelievable fish catching action and tough as nails!! Just swap your hooks out to Mustad Triple Grips and you are golden. From: Rick: Shuqualak, MS 11/25/19
Comments: The LV 500 is my all time fav rattle trap. The added weight in the typical 3 inch size makes them so versatile no matter time of year - in the winter, drop them to the bottom - pull up a few feet till you feel the rattle - let them sink - more often then not you'll feel the strike on the downfall. In the summer - toss these a mile and just burn them back to the boat' it's that very unique brass & glass that makes them better, as well as finish. Give them a fair shake and I'm sure they'll end up being one of your confidence baits. They also make for one of the best lures to give a green angler to introduce to bass fishing.

Comments: These are overrated, they swim and feel the exact same way as red eye shads. From: Unknown: 6/23/19
Comments: A fishing buddy of mine has had great success with this Lucky Craft lipless, so even though it's pricey, I decided to give it a try. My first time using the bait was a cold December morning when I caught 9 bass ranging from 1.5 to 4.2 pounds. One week later I was on the same lake and caught my personal best, a 9.8 pound hawg. The Lucky Craft lipless cast a mile, seems to run straighter and certainly sinks faster than the other lipless I've been using for the past few years. I like them both, but the Lucky Craft appears to be worth the premium price.

Comments: Haven't hooked a fish just yet, but the paint job is really really nice on these lures. Like others have said this thing cast a mile which is awesome. Will definitely purchase more in the future.

Comments: Got this bait in the American shad color in a mystery tackle box, and after using it, i will never purchase a different lipless again. This bait outfishes every other lipless I've used by a large margin. While chucking and winding liplesses with a friend using a red eye shad in the same color, I was catching 3 fish to his 1.
From: Jacob: Wellington 9/3/17
Comments: I have a couple of these lures in chartreuse & American shad colors. If you want to make mile-long casts to cover flats, these lures are incredible! Their weight, vibration & sound will catch just about everything swimming; stripers, black bass, walleye. Great lure!
From: John: Knoxville, TN 10/13/15
Comments: Got this lure out in Ghost Baby Bluegill. Went to spot I haven't had much luck on and that changed they kept hitting this thing hard. Glad a made the jump for more expensive lure but the quality and action shows what your paying for. Rip this thing through grass or burn it, they'll hit it.
From: Justin: NY 7/21/15
Comments: I call it THA BOMBER. As in, you can bomb it to Berlin because it is so heavy. Usually comes back with a fish attached to it, which isn't a bad thing.
From: Jay6: USA 9/19/14
Comments: It's a beast in the water. They are fast and loud -- Not only can you cast it a mile, it sinks like a rock. Its great for covering deeper water. The detailing is by far the best amongst other lipless crankbaits. Runs true on every cast.
From: A Snod: Tulsa, OK 6/4/14
Comments: I have only had my LV 500 lures for less than a month and I honestly can not describe how pleased I am with these lures. I have caught several large mouth bass and as of Oct 4 2013 I just caught my first Salmon on the LV 500, 65 lb braid and BPS PQ reel while fishing for striped bass in the California Delta. This Salmon nearly ripped the rod out of my hand. Only problem this puppy was so large she bent out my hooks during the landing and escaped.
From: Percy: Elk Grove, CA
Comments: Big, heavy, mean and nasty. Just like I like my women!!! And they produce. I own two and only two. Gone through 8 million replacement hooks. Like that nerdy bodybuilder, they get picked on a little but they handle the abuse and bite back.
From: meatwad: slump bustin
Comments: One of my LV500s is literally so bruised and beaten that the inside rattles are rusting due to cracks in the bait. One eye and some paint is gone, but its all good. These baits are great, and the only reason mine looks the way it does is because its survived tons of fishing. Rusting, cracked, beat up, and still catching fish! Say what you want about $15 rattle baits, but this bait has a wonderful record of catching lots of big fish. Very much worth the money!
Comments: awesome year-round bait. catches em in most all situations. ive caught fish by burning them, jigging them , yoyo retrieves, ripping them back, and when cover permits, just straight up killing them. mine no longer are painted due to the many bass and pike that i have caught - but they are still just as effective! theyre that good!
From: Metro, MN
Comments: Great bait for post front and cooler water situations.
From: Trent: Redbud, IL
Comments: These baits are great! When I cant get a bite on anything else I always throw one of these! Highly reccomended!
From: Stephen: RI
Comments: painted bait. used for less than an hour and it went from aurora craw to a silver bait. sent two emails to luckycraft and no response. very sad that a bait this expensive does not last at all.
From: Michael: Malvern, AR
Comments: When I want to make some noise I turn to the LV 500. Unbelievably loud rattle, on a calm day you can hear the rattle thumping from the second it hits the water till you get it back to the boat. Casts like a bullet and runs true no matter how hard you crank it. Pair it with a high speed reel and burn it back in the spring and fall and you will crush some giants. Best colors for me have been ghost minnow and American shad.
