Maxima Ultragreen premium monofilament is precision manufactured in Germany to ensure the line maintains consistent diameter, yard after yard and spool after spool. Maxima Ultragreen is virtually invisible to fish because of it's ability to match the color of the surrounding water. Light is absorbed by the line rather than reflected, which means you'll get more hookups. Maxima Ultragreen's finish provides excellent abrasion resistance and extreme knot strength. Expect superior preformance and consistently high quality from Max Ultragreen. "The Best By Test"
Comments: The 5lb line is there for you finesse folks to use. It's what a lot of the big name dudes out West used to use and it still is awesome. Plenty of reasons to still use it today.
From: O'Billy Dudewright: 3/15/23
Comments: I've been using Maxima for the longest time and love it. Tried some other lines recently and I'm going back to Maxima. Yeah, it costs more but it's worth every penny. For those of you who fish mono. Do yourself a favor and give this a shot.

Comments: This stuff is dynamite. I waited until I fished it hard before I wrote this. Ive used everything from the 10# up to 30#. From shakey heads to my glide baits. Excellent for everything except squarebills. I use 20# tied to braid for flipping and jigs. The stretch of the mono aspect helps fight fish right next to the boat and helps absorb the shock. It can get beat to a pulp and still perform exceptionally well. Don't hesitate to try
From: Ryan: West Monroe, LA 12/24/21
Comments: I'm a power fisherman 100%. Straight braid or braid to leader 80% of the time, and straight fluoro rest of time. Used to mess around with braid to fluoro leaders but would break off on hook sets semi-regularly. Something has to absorb the shock of a Hookset... rod, line, or fish mouth. So after some in depth experimenting with many different line combo, I have found that this stuff is the perfect solution to my problem I was having of snapping leader lines. Perfect amount of stretch and plenty strong. Now if you hard-core again mono and love the thin aspect of flouro for your leaders try the SunlineFC100 leader system, this is what I use for swimming baits when I use a leader. Ultragreen for flipping and bottom contact baits, and FC100 for spinnerbaits, chatters, etc. Hope this helped... PS- tactical basin uses both this and FC100 and they are very reputable and Matt is super hook setter

Comments: Some people compare P Line CXX to this stuff but this is better in my opinion. I owned CXX before this and I snapped off a Huddleston like nothing. That made me really mad so I bought this like TacticalBassin said and it's working great so far. From: Cyrus: California 12/16/20
Comments: I ventured away from this to try the endless options of flourocarbon lines out there. I'm a braid to leader guy and I tried dozens of them, the thing with Maxima is it can flat get its ass kicked and still provide you strength. Flouro is garbage in my opinion and will never stray from Maxima as my leader material. Strength to diameter ratio is higher than most, extremely forgiving, abrasion resistant. It's the deal and you can go lower on on lb rating and still not sacrifice losing fish. From: Lance: Idaho 9/7/20
Comments: When i first got it i was not impressed with the line memory if you fish just straight mono look else were but for leader to braid its fantastic 30 minutes fishing cough a 3lb smallmouth got snagged on some structure and was able to get him out has excellent abrasion resistant
From: Virginia 8/15/20
Comments: I've not had a very good time with maxima ultragreen i spooled it for backing as braid and for topshot and litterly explodes off the spool and tangles around my reel and haven't even fished it yet and my line is all kinkedFrom: Unknown: 7/23/20
Comments: In larger test sizes its more difficult to put on a spinning reel but it does hands fool fish as light is absorbed rather than bouncing off it . If your gonna use heavy maxima like #20 lb as a main line for spinning you need to have it put on with proper tension of a line spooler not just applied lying on the floor or another person holding it for you applying tension. Properly spooled this line is flat out amazing. Also do not overfill the spool thinking it will give you longer casting distance, you will get birds nests instead as the line is to loose. So spool with the right tool and fill to the 1/8th inch of lip or marked fill level modern reels have.
Accidentally hooked a 238 lb ray on #20 lb maxima which dragged me through every part of a reef with 100lbs of kelp on the line as well and the line did its job perfectly. After the fight thought the line would be toast and instead found one small fray two feet up the line and the rest showed no signs of abuse. P line CXX has claims up to 40% stronger than many lines and thought this stuff was the best to use . Store was out of CXX so used Maxima instead and am sold this line is worth the extra cost.

Comments: After hearing the tactical guys recommend this line as a leader I gave it a try. I've always used straight power pro even for finesse applications so I was curious to see if this would change anything. I'm a believer man! Never again will I throw a finesse bait without a leader. I caught my PB large mouth on a ned rig the very first day I tied this on. I guarantee I would not have caught such a large fish if I didn't have a leader. I can't say I catch more fish now, but I can definitely tell you that I have been catching bigger fish. This line is extremely hard to detect in the water and it is very durable. (I use the 10lb line). I did break off once which probably wouldn't have happened with straight braid but I'll take that to continue catching quality fish.

Comments: I tried this because it was recommended by Tactical Bassin. Very consistent strength-wise but overall I did not like it. Way too much memory and not as sensitive as what I was using before.
From: Lou: NJ 5/2/19
Comments: ive tried every so many lines and this line for braid to leader is hands down the best ive caught more 5 plus pound fish than you can dream of cranking this set up 10 pound test is a beast cant break it and not to big that fish can see your line for lipless cranks it should be illegal its so good buy it!! but save me some plz i buy once every 2 weeks like keep my line fresh on reel !!
From: Austin: new york 5/2/19
Comments: Yes it's durable. As far as I can tell it's pretty much indestructible. I spooled some 12 lbs on and fished at lakes Kurth and Naconiche in East Texas were your options are to throw into nothing but hydrilla thickets or timber and it held up fine. Knot strength is great as well. That's where the fun ends though. Now granted I spooled it on as my main line to be used on my reaction bait set up but the memory is horrendous. I spooled it onto the reel in the evening and when it tried to rig up it up the following morning it spooled off looking like a slinky as I tried to run it through the eyelets. Another guy said it's recommended by TacticalBassin (the reason I bought it in the first place)....yes as leader line and in that regard I won't argue the point because like I said it's tough as boot leather and the knot strength is great BUT as a non-braid or flouro mainline I'd go with something else. P-line CXX or something like that because in my experience you get similar performance for about half the price.

Comments: This line has always been very popular with salmon & steelhead fishermen on the west coast. I started using it in 6 lb test over 30 years ago for smallmouth & trout & my strike ratio skyrocketed. I will usually try most of the new lines that show up but I always go back to this line- It's simply the best mono out there in terms of strength, low visibility & abrasion resistance. It is a bit stiff in the higher pound tests but will settle down with use. I have never had an issue with the 4 or 6 lb test. I will use the 4 lb in very clear water & have never lost a fish due to a broken line, catching Smallmouth up to 5 lbs & trout up to 10 lbs.

Comments: It is all I ever use! Dependable, reliable, easy handling, and great casting line! I was introduced to this line almost 20 years ago when moving in Minnesota after I ran out of Silver Thread AN40 supply from Alabama/Georgia. I fished for crappie, walleyes, and bass often on 4, 6 and 8 lbs test line exclusively. I never had to go past 8 lbs test line. Only time I would hit 10 lbs test line if I am throwing sinnerbaits, buzzbaits, and Carolina-rig. I have caught a lot of bass in 5-8 lbs range as well as a lot of walleyes 26"-31". I even used 2 lbs test line for icefishing and a lot of my buddies were amazed how tough this line handled after seeing me catch big crappies, bluegills, walleyes, and bass often. Even to today, I am home here in Alabama--this line will always be my mainstays on all of my rods/reels.

Comments: Terrible. Bad, bad memory. Cant believe it came highly recommended.
From: Taylor 6/16/18
Comments: The only mono I will use! It's amazing I buy it in bulk, typically in 12lb and 15lb. Stuff lands fish even in bathtub clear water.
From: Unknonwn: Florida 4/2/18
Comments: This is the leader line recommended by tacticalbassin. You better get it while u can :-)
From: Unknown - 6/26/17
Comments: Incredible line! Low stretch, casts a mile. It has all the qualities of good mono, without any of the disadvantages. It like 90% fluorocarbon, just shy of being as good as fluoro.
From: Jared: WI 6/11/17
Comments: It seems a bit thick but makes up for it in castability. I had many hook sets before the line broke. I guess I just took it for granted after a lot of success that was a error in my judgement but overall a great mono!
From: Harry: Del Rio, TX 2/16/15
Comments: This is the best mono period. It is very consistent from spool to spool and has never let me down. This stuff is getting harder to find, but is still the best. You won't be disappointed, every size is great, but 18lb and 6lb are what I typically use.
From: Chris: SW MO
Comments: I keep this stuff for spooling and leader in 8, 10, 12, 15, 18, 20 & 25lb. It's not great at any one thing, but has no weakness. This product has been around for many years. The reason why is because it is that good. From: Trio: NorCal
Comments: This is THE toughest line I've used! I throw it on my topwaters and m $40 crankbaits because this stuff will not break me off!
From: Tom
