Overview
If you are faced with cold front conditions, increased fishing pressure, or small forage, the Missile Jigs Ike’s Micro Football Jig was developed by 2003 Bassmaster Classic Champion, Mike Iaconelli, to deliver incredible fish catching performance in the toughest scenarios. Featuring a football head shape that is ideal for crawling over rough structure, the Missile Jigs Ike’s Micro Football Jig offers an ultra-compact profile that is deadly when fish are in a negative mood. A 90-degree line tie and weight forward design also allow the jig to track true and keep your soft plastic trailer pointed upward in a defensive position to entice wary bass into biting. A thinned-out frog hair skirt provides less bulk compared to traditional silicone for a more subtle action as well.
Another crucial element of the Missile Jigs Ike’s Micro Football Jig is its razor sharp 1/0 Gamakatsu hook that delivers lightning fast hook penetration even when anglers are forced to use ultra-light fishing line due to the conditions present. Providing versatility for different scenarios as well, it includes an unattached weedguard so that anglers can fish it without a weedguard for superior hook setting performance or fish it with the weedguard when around cover to reduce snags. Complete with a 360-degree bait keeper that locks soft plastics in place, the Missile Jigs Ike’s Micro Football Jig delivers unbeatable performance for difficult fishing conditions.
Includes

Comments: Pros: Smallmouth love them.... Cons: Weed guard has to be glued in or will fall out. Gets snagged easy, have broken the hooks on two of them using 10 lbs braid and 8 lbs flouro after pulling it out of a snag. Should check hook anyways, but definitely with this jig. I missed several fish in a tourney cause I didn't check it.

Comments: I bought some of these and the weed guards fell out. Tried to put them back in and they didn't fit. Pulled them apart and made smaller and glued them in! Issue needs to be fixed! Don't buy until missile addresses problem!

Comments: I gave these things a shot and have to say that I'm pretty pleased with them. I have caught several fish on this and a couple of decent ones. I tend to fish these in a pretty clear lake without a ton of weeds. I don't use the weed guards and probably won't now, based on the other reviews. My only issue with these is that the skirt appears to have worn out pretty quickly. It, along with my small ned bug trailer, slide down the hook. I can put it back up on the keeper but it doesn't stay there for long. Regardless, I do like this jig and will likely buy them again.

Comments: Just got back from northern WI doing a ton of sight fishing smallmouth on beds in super clear water. I bought a few packs of these in addition to Bass Patrol football jigs, which are also great but these are a touch smaller. Long story short, I only had ONE tied on all week. These jigs are awesome. Came through the rubble well and fooled finicky smallies over and over again. I easily caught 40-50 fish, and the hook was still sticky. Combined with the YUM Ned craw or Z man crawz, you get a killer smallmouth bait. Pick them up if you're looking for a similar application.

Comments: Got into some fish on these the other day. Caught every fish that took a jab at it surprisingly. The weed guards don't fit, like at all. Not so sure the guard would be really effective for any kind of cover that is solid. I think they are really a means of confidence and piece of mind more so then a functional guard. Not so sure flipping this thing into wood or thick grass would be a great idea with the smaller hook. I did actually stick a 5.4 yesterday and kept him out of a bush while keeping him under the trunk of a laydown I was near. Had to use my thumb to slow him down and stick my rod in the water to stop the mono from rubbing on the bark and breaking. Surprisingly the hook didn't really bend at all, a couple mm at most but looks as it did when it was brand new. Not crazy about the penetration of the hook, but I didn't set it like I was trying to break the rod or anything. The hook just about fell out almost every time like it was totally barbless. Probably a combination of factors like using really cheap mono with a ton of stretch and a med pwr rod. I cant say anything bad about it other than the weed guard issue having caught every fish I swung on with it. I prefer the Keitech football jigs, they have a much better skirt, better keeper, smaller head and better hook. If you don't want to pay for the tungsten or think you are likely to lose a few and don't want to risk the keitechs these aren't a bad choice at all.

Comments: Finally got my hands on some love them only problem is the holes for the weed guards needed cleaned out to get them in, but since they just came out I'm sure that will be fixed. Will be buying more

Comments: Garbage! None of the weed guards fit. Get hung up fairly quickly.

Comments: These little jigs are trick. Just got them and that little Gami hook is sharp and plenty strong. I like that I can leave out the brush guard or insert it. I will be buying more of these guys when I get out on the water.

Comments: These are barley bigger than the micro jigs with the round head, just a hair smaller than the model 2 keitech football jigs. The hook seems to be a better quality than the round head micro jigs which in my opinion was much needed improvement. None of the brush guards would fit in the jigs which isn't cool, but I imagine that problem will be remedied shortly. If you fish lakes with educated fish especially in the winter give them a try. A trd or ring craw fit well and I imagine will be combo ill be using for a while.
