Comments: I've tried a lot of buzzbaits and this has to be my favorite. Takes a minute to figure out how to dial it in so that it is singing right. Once you figure it out you won't have to adjust the wire until after you catch one.

Comments: I threw the Black Plague in 3/8 oz. from just before daylight till 9:30 am with no trailer. Bent the wire up a tad to keep it from knocking and it squeals very nicely. Fish would not leave it alone. Had an extremely productive morning. If you are looking for a new buzz bait to try this is a good one. No mods needed except bend the arm to get the sound you want.

Comments: Ordered two of the 1/4oz version and I can say this bait is a catch and release beasr! Except the release comes every hookset for me. It was getting hit repeatedly and regardless of hookset I could not keep a single fish pinned on this. Hit two decent sized snakehead and a tank of a bass all shook it off. Miss two other smaller bass although one felt like a short strike so I can't entirely blame the lure. The others have no excuse. Five fish lost before a storm rolled in. Both lures are in the trashcan. This is my third disappointing lure from Nichols and my last.

Comments: I have been using the Nichols Reflex buzzbaits for over a year now, and they have renewed my faith in how effective buzzbaits can be--especially for big fish. The head design and hook are awesome, the length of the hook shank is perfect and you rarely miss a fish. The blade can be positioned down to come in contact with the head for a clacker sound, or sometimes I will pull it up a fraction of an inch for a non-clacker for calmer conditions/or a quieter approach. The toothpick keeper system is amazing, especially if you like to rig a toad or swimbait on the back in place of a skirt. Other buzzbaits only have a trailer keeper or barb, where you have to use superglue or just go through a bunch of plastics. I used one toad the other day on a local lake, and probably caught 25-30 fish (up to 5 lbs), before I had to replace my frog. Its the perfect keeper system, and I will not use another brand due to this. Excellent bait, high quality components from front to back. Way to go Nichols, super lure that I absolutely love!!
