Overview

Spectra is the registered trademark of Honeywell International for a special formulation of the same space-age material that bullet-proof vests and other tough protective gear is made from. Spectra is tiny filaments of super strong material that when braided together produce extremely strong, extremely thin line that is perfect for some fishing applications. Power Pro designed this Spectra line to feel smooth to the touch, which means this line won't cut your guides, and with less friction it will cast farther. It will also enhance knot performance and will lay better on the spool, which will also help increase casting distance. The near zero stretch of Spectra lines means you will have the ultimate in sensitivity so every twitch will be transmitted to your hand. Power Pro Spectra Line offers premium line at a reasonable price.

GreatI have used this line for any freshwater fishing trip I went on. Doesn’t matter if it was a walleye or Muskie or bass fishing trip. The 50lbs test stayed strong throughout the trips and still is strong from a basic competitive bass fisher man I am.

Line broke within minutesI had my buzzbait tied on with the 40 lb power pro. Within the first 20 casts, the line snapped on a cast sending my buzzbait flying. Luckily the line snapped about 20 feet from my lure, so I was able to retrieve my buzzbait by pulling on the line that was still floating. I don’t leave reviews often but when I do it’s either really good or really bad.

Best braidI’ve had this line snap on me several times during a fishing trip, but I realized a few hours in I had a nice chip in the eyelet of my rod which was cutting the line, this is my go to and my all time favorite brand, if your line is breaking check your eyelets

Great LineI have used this line all my years fishing and I love it. Every time someone asks what braid to buy I recommend power pro. I use it in tournaments and for normal use, have never had problems. It's a great line and I will continue to use it.

Only Braid I UseThis line right here is the stuff. I've tried using way too many different brand but this braid seems to be the only one that works on any bait caster or spinning reel I own without problems. It is well worth the high price because I have never had any wind knots with this stuff and it is waxed so it doesn't really ever bird nest. Very impressive line!

awful line1st review after many years buying on tackle warehouse. Read reviews before purchasing, this line is not good anymore. Line broke off on casts, tying knots, and hooksets. After 3 days of fishing i had burned through 150 yds of line. Contacted tackle warehouse via email and they gave a full refund no questions asked. Tackle warehouse is an awesome company. Bad line.

Great list be for many yearsI use this line in 8, 10, 20, 30, and 40lb strength, and have never had an issue with it. Either tying to a bait or leader with an FG or Alberto knot, knot strength is fantastic. Casts great, lasts a long time, is really strong, and is fairly priced. It’s the OG braid, but is still a great product.

Agree with negative reviewsBought two spools of 15lb. Hooked up but line broke somewhere above hook knot. Tried to tie leader to braid three times, but line broke with sharp tug. Second spool, same result. Something gone wrong with Power Pro.

Previous Feedback

Comments: Some spools are a strong as wire, some are completely and utterly defective. I lost a brand new frog I got for my birthday, two texas rigs, and a swim jig because of this line. Stay away!

From: Unknown: Indianapolis, Indiana 7/3/23

Comments: This line is not what it used to be. Powerpro has developed some issues. I would've sworn by this line 5 years ago, you could flip all year with the same spool of 65lb and it used to never break. Now I find myself breaking it regularly. I have tried buying spools from TW and from other local stores, it's all been the same result. Frays easier, the color is inconsistent, the line doesn't even feel the same as it used to. Sooner or later in a day of flipping, you are going to break it.

From: Patrick: AL 10/25/22

Comments: I'm gonna be honest, this fishing line sucks, I got the 20 pound test and was fishing with it, a few days later the line was frayed, I casted a 1/4 ounce chatterbait and the line snapped, this is best selling fishing line so why did it break me off??? The price of this isn't cheap either so I basically just wasted 20+ dollars

From: Isaac: Minnesota 10/4/22

Comments: Power Pro 4 carrier braid is having qc issues, I purchased 2 150yd spools and put on 2 spinning reels. While spooling the line on the reels both had bad sections in the middle of the 150yd spool. They were about 10 ft long and looked like the line had been burned half through. I will be going back to Siffix 832 forever. Not happy especially for the price of this line.

From: Dave: Lakeland, FL 7/23/22

Comments: Not very impressed. I don't think I've had it break on a fish(I know I haven't caught one over 4lbs with it), but it's broken before my fc leader more than once when I was snagged. I was using 20lb Power Pro to 14lb fc. I would think the fc would break at the knot first. It has helped cement the fc I will always use. Thank you Power Pro.

From: Tony: South Carolina 7/4/22

Comments: I bought some 50lb for my frogging rod to increase line capacity. I have been using 65lb Daiwa J-Braid. I didn't pay attention to the diameter of the line, and I just found out 50lb PP is the same diameter of 65lb J-Braid.  There goes my extra line capacity. I guess I need to buy some Daiwa J-braid in 50lb that has the diameter of 40lb Power Pro. Power Pro could be better line though, and Daiwa could be overrating their line, but who really knows.

From: Chris: Cincinnati, OH 1/20/22

Comments: Good consistent performance out of this line. I've tried other brands around this price range and just didn't find anything comparable to Power Pro. Never had any break offs or issues with color fade. Only need to change it out once a year. I use fluoro whenever I can get away with it, but use 50lb powerpro for frogging and flipping/punching heavy cover and 10lb main line on all spinning reels.

From: Ryan: Christiansburg 1/10/22

Comments: I've used it for years on my spinning rods with a leader and with fishing frogs. I see no reason to change.

From: Jerry: Unknown 11/2/21

Comments: Best braid I have ever owned!! I use 20 pound in the moss green color to a 12 pound fluro leader and it's great.

From: Luke: California 4/6/21

Comments: I have used PP for years without any issues. HOWEVER, the past 2 years have been different. I broke off a bass on a hookset with 40 # and sent a hollow frog flying with 50#. Both broke within a few feet of the rod tip so I know it was not my knots. Out of curiosity a few weeks ago I took a 2' section of 50lb PP , tied a surgeon knot on both ends and put one loop on my vice handle and the other on my digital scale. It broke between 16 and 21 pounds EVERY SINGLE TIME I TESTED IT INCHES AWAY FROM THE KNOTS. So, I went and bought another brand new spool (50#)  from a different store two days ago and did the same test and got the same results over and over again. I can assure you it is not my knots. PP is having quality control issues. I am returning the spool I bought and will only use 15# for my spinning  reels from now on. Very very disappointed with PP. recently. Going to buy other braid brands and do the same test and will go with whatever they one is closest to its rating. I n
eed reliable braid for frogging and heavy flipping and have completely lost faith in PP for those techniques.

From: Frank: Smyrna, DE 4/2/21

Comments: Cost, durability and handling make this line a must have. I use 50lb to 15lb on bait caster and spinning reels never had a problem. Casting distance is good a little noisy on retrieve but it lessens after a while. Will last a fishing season.

From: Kevin: MD 3/6/21

Comments: Best braid in the game for the money! I have thrown #50 & #65 on my flipping and frogging setups for years and wouldn't trust anything else, especially in a tournament situation. Just like any other moss green braid, UV light makes the color fade but nothing a fat tipped permanent marker can't fix in a quick hurry. I also use the #20 hi-viz yellow to a fluorocarbon leader on some of my finesse spinning setups, can't say enough good things about it!

From: Chris K: Mt Pleasant 10/27/20

Comments: I recently started using braid , I was brought up on mono but I'm so impressed with sensitivity I feel everything but anyway I started with 20 lb Spider wire and I lost four frogs on fish I guess it was breaking so I tried regular power pro and it worked well casting and knots and such then I went to Bass Pro braid that was 2 for 1 price that was a mistake now i'm running P-line because the big boys promote it and it does well also I caught a 7 lb bass just today on my Dobyns heavy with P-line and all went well but my next line from now on will be Power Pro regular in green my only gripe is it's loud reeling in a fish but that's nothing , Power Pro at a good price beats all the high end brands in my opinion

From: Christopher: Elizabethtown 7/12/20

Comments: There are some negative experiences written up here, and maybe there is a QC issue at PP, but I have also read that there is a lot of fake Power Pro out there.  Any time that you have a good relatively expensive (compared to mono) product you will have pirates selling fake product.  Buy from quality dealers and know how your new line has been stored by the dealer. I got a chuckle out of JM with his 40-100 fish a day comment and ending with "I was generous with my catch numbers." LOL  Who doesn't love a cold beer and a good fish story?

From: Unknown 6/1/20

Comments: Always been my go to braided line still is. Dont buy the bulk spool tho. Bought the 50lb 1500yd spool and it looks like used braid. All faded and lightly frayed already looks like the line has already been fished for the spring or half the season. Was pretty disappointed after buying that and now I have to buy even more. This time I'll stick to the normal spools and just buy a couple of them.

From: Unknown: 3/6/20

Comments: I have the 20lb spooled on my baitcaster reel and have mixed feelings about this line. It's very smooth, casts a mile and it holds its color a long time. I could love it. However I found it also snaps very easily if the spool stops turning while the lure is in the air (on a bad cast usually). A frog made it break that way so it's not because the lure was too heavy and the knot isn't in cause as it broke way above it (like 15 feet). It's like if the line has some weak spots which really don't handle shocks at all. Didn't have that on some other lines.

From: JM: 11/1/19

Comments: I've fished regular power pro green for years at Texoma for Stripers from 1-25 lbs or so. Because of the way I fish I Lick my drag down to set hook then loosen it up. I have had zero break offs!  Zero!!  Occasionally I tr 1-3 feet off my braid if it's worn.  If you do that you are golden provided you tie good knows. I use a 25 lb fluorocarbon leader. This line is awesome.  I've caught 3000 plus Stripers with zero break offs!!! I average 40 -100 plus a day. I have never written a line review anywhere but wanted to share. However I have tried power pro slick 8 because I thought it would produce easier casts and distance.  It did but with break off even on casting with new line. Regular power pro is bullet proof !Hope this helps people.  And I was generous on the numbers of fish!!!!!

From: Kendall : Oklahoma  3/18/19

Comments: power pro in 50# is my absolute all the time go to line, never had a failure, strongest line out there,if im fishing a lighter application i just tie the appropriate leader and its good to go,power pro 50 wont disappoint!!

From: Alvis: 2/20/19

Comments: i can't decide if i like this line or not. seems like some spools are very good and other are defective and break with a pull of both hands.... 40lb power pro broke multiple times with me pulling it with my bare hands! and other times i can pull 4lb bass out of heavy cover with no issue. Make sure you aren't buying from EBAY, 3rd party dealers and other sketchy places. very conflicted, 20$ wasted!

From: Zach - Florida 1/2/19

Comments: 10+ years of using Power Pro, from the 5lb to the 80lb, from finessing bass to power fishing muskie, there is no beating this braid.

From: Steve - Minnesota 12/19/18

Comments: Best braid ive ever used hands down. 50 lb for topwater, 65 lb for flippin. Holds its color for a good while. All around good line, highly recommended!

From: Jeremy - Seminole, FL 10/6/18

Comments: Been using power pro for a couple years now, it's great, always go back to it, never really had breakage issues, but I just have gotten a bad roll of 30lb, had it on a baitcaster for less than 2 months and have had it snap repeatedly pulling through cover, pulling out snags. First one was on a cast, was lucky enough my spinner hit the shoreline on the other side and I got it back. I was certain it had to just be a weak spot I missed, from running on wood.... So I retie and carry on. Then again... This time I reached down grabbed the line and easily pulled my jig from a snag, and luckily retrieved it. I kept losing a bit of line every time as well so pretty soon I was down to fresh line, which I kept inspecting and not finding anything to seem out of the ordinary. After a few times of very luckily getting some lures back I gave up and pulled it off. Not the first time I've heard about this with the 30, and actually just saw another comment here, so I thought I'd share. Probably switch to suffix performance until the new v2 slicks are in....

From: Danny: Longmont,CO  9/24/18

Comments: I have been using Power Pro since they first came out with this line close to 20 years ago and every now and then I will try what is supposed to be the next best thing as far as braided line and guess what ? I always end up going back to original Power Pro green line. I mostly use this line for flipping/pitching and frogs in heavy matts and have never broken off with 50lb test. This line holds it's color the best and not very often does it dig into its self. My only complaint is I wish it was more quiet going through heavy matts.

From: Hammer: Lake Champlain Vermont 7/4/18

Comments: Best braid out there and I have tried them all, cast great and unbelievable strength.

From: John - Okeechobee 5/21/18

Comments: I LOVE regular PowerPro. Super strong, no issues. I use 30 pound to a 20lb fluoro leader for general purpose stuff, 50 lb for frogging (I've never broken off), and 65 pound for big swimbaits.

From: Adam: FL 5/16/18

Comments: I have used this for 5 years. Not once have I had breakage issues. I flip it in nasty cover, never even close to a break. Someone has some bad guides they need to check cause this won't break. Best braid of all time.

From: Unknonwn 3/22/18

Comments: Best braid out there. Use a Trilene Knot (double clinch knot) and you will NEVER have a knot failure. Have used this line spooled on reels and have gone 2 yrs without needing to respool. Use a large green sharpie with a notch in the middle to touch up your last 2-3 feet when color fades over time and you are golden. I have been using this line for 20+ yrs and have experimented with others (spiderwire, fireline, etc) but I am a Power Pro lifer. Also ties well to fluoro leaders using a crazy alberto knot with no slippage issues.

From: Unknown - Massachusetts 3/22/18

Comments: Great braid, especially for the price. I use #65 on my frogging setup and I've never had a break off. Great strength and knot strength.

From: David: Ohio 3/20/18

Comments: Best braid out there! I have used many different braids and this is by far the best i've ever used! Goes through the guides like butter, very very strong. Relatively inexpensive, color doesn't fade. I use #10 and #20 for drop shots and finesse all the way up to #50 for frogging. Best braid out there im my opinion, will never use any braid again.

From: Cavan: VA 2/28/18

Comments: Used power pro for over 10 years never had a problem except a few breakoffs due to not retying enough but that's human error. Absolutely no braid even touches this stuff hands down the king of Braids

From: Mark: Amherstview Ontario 2/19/18

Comments: i have used this line since it came out almost 20 years ago. i have tried many other braids out of curiosity and regular PP is still the best especially for the price. to all the guys having trouble, it is your fault. if the line is fraying near your lure, cut it back to where it is not fraying. if you are experiencing breaks during the hook set or while fighting fish, it is your knot's fault, not the line. it is slipping or cutting off in the eye where it meets the shank because it is sliding down. when i get hung up i have to wrap my line around a cleat and use the trolling motor to break the line.

From: CJR: USA 1/24/18

Comments: Tried the 30lb on bait caster throwing swim bait with weighted swim bait hook on a med action rod. Repeatedly broke anywhere from 3 to 10yds up the spool on 2 different rod/reels both on casts and hook sets. Pulled all off and re-spooled with the spare in the boat. Same exact issue. Has nothing to do with knot tying for the guys saying "get your knot tying up to speed". Second issue was the strands started coming apart. This was all on the first day of use. Must have been a bad batch as I bought both spools at the same time. I didn't have any birds nest issues, but because of the quality issues I couldn't recommend the 30lb.

From: Unknown 1/17/18

Comments: honestly this line is amazing i used this for my spinning so far and i did have in on my baitcaster but recently just changed my baitcater to full mono leader for you people that say you have problems with the line fix your knot tying this line is amazing i never had a fish snap my leader or my line only time i snap is from rocks this braided line is amazing 10 out of 10 line good price range too

From: Bixler - 11/29/17

Comments: This is by far the best braided line have never had any issues other than casting 1 lure off which is user error.  For everyone who has casted off a lure that is your fault not the lines, with braided line after a hook set or two the line can dig into itself and if you try to muscle a lure out there will all your strength it will likely break.  Braid is not designed to have so much force on it on such a small portion of line, I'm not telling you not to cast hard but you don't need to throw every ounce of power you got for every cast.

From: Finn - Ontario 11/29/17

Comments: Only braid I use!  I like the 10# hi-vis yellow on spinning gear, for the more finesse-type applications where line-watching is critical, and 50# green on baitcasting gear for the heavier cover situations.  I have not had problems with knot slippage, fraying or random breaks.  It just works!  I can concentrate on fishing and not be second-guessing my line choices.

From: Tony: High Point, NC 11/17/17

Comments: I spooled a flipping rod and frog rod with 50lb Power Pro Spectra and fished it Spring through Fall without a single break. From docks to heavy vegetation, I pulled fish from every type of cover imaginable without a hiccup. Phenomenal braided line.

From: NYAngler 10/20/17

Comments: I have been using this line for at least 7 years. I have not had any problems with it and I will sometimes not change it for 2 plus years on the spool. I simply pull it out to the backing and put it on in reverse with the used portion tied to my backing. I use almost all the pond tests on reels for different forms of fishing. Love it.I wish tackle warehouse would carry the ten pond test in the 300 yard spools so that I wouldn't waste any portion of line when trying to figure out how much I have spooled on to the reel. I use the 10 pound test the most, especially for drop shoting. I have stopped tying on a leader because of the small diameter and have not found any difference in catch rate. Please get the 10lb test in 300 yard spools tackle warehouse.

From: Virgil: wisconsin 10/5/17

Comments: Decided to try this out instead of sufix 832 I usually have on my curado 70. The color retention is much better compared to the 832. I tie braid to mono leader, 40lb braid to 17lb mono with a blood knot. I have not had any issues with tying or break offs. Can't beat it for the price, will buy again over 832.

From: Zac: Wisconsin 9/20/17

Comments: i got this stuff in #65 and i have broke it twice now. both recent. this first break i thought i was just very unlucky but the seomd time i knew it's weak. the first break was within 1 WEEK of me buying it. i broke off on a big bass on a frog in open water. the seomd time i was punching heavy grass and i hooked a another big bass and it came up and flopped on the mat then broke and the fish was just sitting in top with my rig and about 5 feet of lime with it. didn't get the fish it feel back in the water . i've always punched heavy grass and never had a problem with my line. i figured i try this and IT WAS BS LINE, DONT BUY THIS UNLESS ITS FOR SPINNING TACKLE

From: nick: va 9/17/17

Comments: For all you people that are saying that they have had lured fly off their line. Get your knot tying game up because this line is the best I have ever used. Very abrasion resistant.

From: John - Massachusetts 9/9/17

Comments: Power pro 4 life!!Iv tryed just about every braid, and I always go back to pp, because it's the best!!! With any line ull have to have commen Sence , if it's fraid, stretched, or just plain worn, replace it!!! Easy as tying a new knot!! Never cuts spool wen setting on hogs!! And I never nest.. Setting your reel is key.... Best casting an retrieving braid out thare!!! Thanks power pro!!

From: Justin P: Plenty of fish MINNESOTA 8/16/17

Comments: I have used the 50# of this braid for all of my braid applications and not once have I ever been failed by it. Always this braid performs perfectly. I've never had the line break on me when casting, backlashes are always easy to get out, and the color fades somewhat but still keeps a darker green color. Can't go wrong with this braid if you know how to take care of it.

Comments: I have been using this braid for quite some time now. 8#-65#. Yesterday I went to a local pond by my house using  a brand new NF60 frog, and I got a backlash. The line broke and there went my frog! On 50#! How does that happen? I am going to be making the switch because it has happened more than once now.

From: Jet: Arkansas 6/14/17

Comments: I would consider myself an experienced power pro fisherman, I have used power pro for almost 5 years. Every year I fish more than I did the last year, and every year I feel like i'm getting ripped of from power pro. The braid is good for the first two months, but later on you will find the the braid has frayed. I have broken off over 60$ worth of tackle. This year I finally decided to branch off, and decided to try Suffix 832 Superline. Please, take my recommendation and get a different braid.

From: Wyane: GRAND RAPIDS  6/8/17

Comments: best braid ever almost no backlash and if a backlash , very easy to get out. If you want to get brait get this braid, you won't regret.

From: Unknown 6/8/17

Comments: After using this braid for awhile I think it's time to switch.  Abrasion resistance is mediocre, as is color retention.  It digs pretty badly, and if you backlash then your lure is almost for sure flying off. For backing to leader applications it holds up well, but as far as straight braid applications go I would look elsewhere.

From: Ashton: Texas 5/7/17

Comments: Best braid i have ever bought!!! 50# braid and i fish it in all kind of covers never snapped on when when throwing lures or catching big fishes and i can tie one lure and go multiple days of fishing without having to retie it! Have caught pikes and big muskies on this line! The color on the line stays moss green for a while before the color starts to fade!

From: Unknown 3/1/17

Comments: like the price but this braid is trash. i was using 30lb throwing a strike king popper and every time i had a tiny backlash it would snap. same when i used it for punching if i didnt reel down on the fish totally the line would snap like nothing. Find yourself some seagur smackdown this stuff belongs in the garbage. 2/10

From: Sammy: Lino Lakes, MN 2/20/17

Comments: I liked Power Pro in the past. I use the 50# on a Shimano Zodias H XF & a Shimano Chronarch Ci4+ for frogging. It seems that every time I hook into a pike that engulfs the frog the line gets straight cut when I set the hook. I don't know if this is due to the pikes teeth or fraying in the line.  Never get this problem with Sunline FX2 braid. IMO FX2 is the best braid ever made. Way thinner & without a DOUBT smoother and quieter than this stuff.

From: Lex: MN 10/3/16

Comments: Used the 40lb braid with a live target frog today, tied the frog on first thing this morning & didn't have to re tie all day. One knot all day, caught 40 bass with a buddy on a local strip cut lake, never had one problem. Awesome braid, it allows me to throw that frog a mile & drive those hooks home to put big bass in the boat.

From: Tyler: IL 7/16/16

Comments: This is my favorite braid for everything. From 80lb for muskies, 65lb & 50lb for the slop, 30lb for pretty much everything & 20lb on spinning rods, it has never failed me. Nothing bad to say, even though the color does fade pretty fast but it still stays green. Do not use when flipping rocks, it just gets shredded but that's normal for braid. I would recommend this line to anyone.

From: Max: VT 5/19/16

Comments: I put this line (20 pound) on my ugly stik gx2 & it was a pretty good combination. Never lost a single fish & it handled everything that I put it through. I recommend others to try it.

From: Justin: Burlington, NC 5/18/16

Comments: A real staple here. I spooled my revo with 30 pound for swim jigs & ended up tossing a red eye shad at my cabin & caught well over 80 fish in two days. Multiple pike & only had to retie once after a 33" pike. I love this stuff for the price & it is and will be the only braid i trust.

From: Will: Jordan, MN  5/12/16

Comments: Not my go to line by any means, but when money is tight & you want to fill up a spool or two. $15 for 300 yards is absolutely no complaints. Color fades, doesn't perform the greatest In cold water, tournament time I'm using FX2 frogging & flipping line, but I've used this line for just about every topwater & flip'n pitch technique possible & besides the obvious you get what you pay for problems of getting a cheaper line this line gets the job done & won't make you think twice about retying a bunch of times. GREAT PRODUCT FOR THE PRICE JUST REMEMBER YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR

4/4/16

Comments: use this braid mainly for froggin and punching/flippin. Good braid, no complaints, gets the job done, color fades rather quickly especially when it is in the upper 90s tossing the frog around all day, doesn't affect the performance, just a cosmetic issue.

From: Kyle: Tomah, WI 3/1/16

Comments: I am a die-hard Power Pro Original fan. I have been using PP braid for almost 10 years. I have tried PP Slick (complete junk), Spiderwire and Berkley Fireline. So far PP Original is the way to go.  Always use a line conditioner to make any braided line last longer. I primarily use 65lb but have some 30 lb. I am looking forward to trying the PP Quatro to compre the 2. Either way, PP Original rocks, stay away from the PP Slick (in my opinion)

From: Jeff: Canada 12/26/15

Comments: First year of using power pro, I use 50 lb on my frog rod. The line is great, I have pulled many bass out of very thick cover this past summer. No breakage and very little change in color. Casts like a dream. Super line!

From: Blake: Hannibal, MO 10/4/15

Comments: Very good braid. Been using it for a few seasons now had no issues till recently when my weight was fraying the line I had 4 breaks cause of that. I determined that it was the weight not the line. This stuff for the price is unbeatable and is very easy to work with. I agree with others to use KVD line and lure makes the casting much smoother.

From: James: IN 8/3/15

Comments: not the best braid they changed something in the line it is not the same. Broke this line so many times on hook sets, breaking in the knots and then 2 too 3 feet above the knot. This happened to me on new line the first time using it

From: Jason: Bowler, WI 8/1/15

Comments: Nothing compares to this line, I have used it for years and will not use anything else, 30 lb handles it all from heavy moss beds for largemouths, walleye, big cats, pike, you name it. As with anything else wear and tear takes its toll on anything and everything. Its not indestructible. But as for color fade, big deal. No other line compares to Power Pro. If you are a hardcore you will know this. Ty Power pro for making the best line on the market.

From: Sean: Rapid City, SD 7/13/15

Comments: Very good braid. I use 40 lb for Texas rigs, jigs, and pitching under trees. Good abrasion resistance and very minimal color los after a week of heavy use. Soft right off the spool, and it casts and pitches great. Just a side note, KVD Line & Lure makes it cast better as well. I'd recommend PowerPro to anyone.

From: SH: TX 3/31/15

Comments: Decided to try it. It's not bad. Still not on par with 832, but it is a vast improvement over Power Pro lines of the past. No breakage or knot issues, casts decent enough.

From: Mac: Longview, TX 3/14/15

Comments: I've had the same line on my spool for 3 years now. Haven't had one fish break off. Yes, it looses color but it won't go completely white. I use a permanent market to color the line anyway. Great line for flippin.

From: E.K.: NJ 2/15/15

Comments: Plain and simple the line is excellent. I am not one for reading reviews and not usually writing them. There are so many options out there but the Power Pro is the best. Buy it, you will not be disappointed.

From: Justin: Canada 1/30/15

Comments: For this price, it is good. If you lose the color, get a perm marker and fix it. Easy enough...

From: Jay6: USA 1/29/14

Comments: I started fishing braid a couple years ago when a fishing buddy introduced it to me. I was impressed with the durability and cast-ability of the line so i bought an expensive spool of Suffix performance series. The color wore out pretty quickly and had an occasional Frey. I bought this power pro when i noticed that my spool seemed a little low and right off the bat i put it to the test. My 30 lb. braid is perfect for bass fishing and its out preformed everything I've used. I've worked it to the max, with deep cranks and flipping jigs and beaver tails and tube baits through heavy cover under and out of the water. Ive ran the line through rocks and all over other trees. I haven't lost a single fish that I've been able to get a hold of and I'm in love with this line! It casts great and is very dependable. I recommend this line to everyone!

From: Bassaholic: CA 12/22/14

Comments: Pretty Good Braid I've tried a few braids such as this, spider wire stealth, Stren sonic, and Suffix 832. However I have found that this braid has been the best for me the color hasn't faded much and it is strong. Yes it is a bit tougher and will make more noise but I don't mind that. Overall you cannot beat it for the price.

From: James: Rural Valley, PA 12/12/14

Comments: this used to be one of the best most dependable lines on the market. over the last 6 months this line has turned to crap I don't know what they changed but I am done with it. It fades too fast and you have to really keep a close watch b/c it frays at the rod tip when you flip with it.

From: Pat: Lumberton, TX 9/28/14

Comments: Unless I'm fishing in ultra clear water i use only moss green power pro. I'm not a professional caster so i birds nest and i have taken a knife and dug it out and still had no line breakage. I was hung up once and snapped the pole before i broke the line. Great line love it!

From: Joe: WV 7/7/14

Comments: After only 5 outings with my 15lb line it started to turn white. With the money you pay for this line it should hold its color. Not sure if it is usable in the color it changes to.

From: Vernon: San Diego, CA 3/29/14

Comments: ive used many braids before. this braided line to me is the best of them all. Ive set hooks on 8 pounder after 8 pounder and never had have it snap on hook set and is awesome for tying knots. I highly recommend.

From: Zachary: Pearson, GA

Comments: I've run the gamut and I keep coming back to this stuff.  This year I will be using it exclusively.  Ditching the flouro for crankbaits, mono for topwaters etc...The possible benefits of those lines (debateable) are negated by their annoyance factor IMO.  It just takes the fun out of it when you start having line issues.  Besides you can use a flouro leader if you really think it helps.

From: Jep: USA

Comments: Can't beat this line for the price. I used the 10lb on my finesse spin combos and it did fine. For a floro leader I would recommend seaguar.

From: Jack: CT

Comments: My buddy has fished mono all of this life.  He didn't like braid because of his experiences in the old days (too much friction).  One cast with 50lb. PowerPro and he was shocked at how smooth it was.  This line is fantastic.

From: Cole

Comments: Best braid period! Don't pay attention to reviews like the one below. If your line is snapping on the hookset with 40lb. power pro it's user error for sure.

From: Nick: USA

Comments: Took some of this line 40# test to lake El Salto.  3 separate times the line snapped on hook sets.  Not even near my knot. On of the fish was a mere 2lber that jumped and laughed at me with my bait in his mouth.  I won't be using Power pro again.

From: Mike: USA

Comments: I have been a serious smallmouth fisherman for 20+ years and besides Tuf-Line XP, this is the only other braid I will spool up. I have used every different braid out there( literally everyone of them ), and nothing compares to these two braids. Casting distance is great, sensitivity is awsome, and abrasion resistance is excellent. Color fades a little but still stays a dark green.

From: Jesse: WV

Comments: i use this line for saltwater and let me say cuts through kelp and when i am fishing tight up close to the rock i am not worried about breaking a fish off im very confident in this line o and im using 65lb with a 40 lb leader thanks power pro tw

From: Kris: bakersfield ca

Comments: What a great braided line! It's the best braid I've ever used. It's tough as nails, casts amazingly, and stays usable for ages on my spool.

From: Adam: Orange County, CA

Comments: used 15lb or 20lb trolling crankbaits for walleye and worked good sometimes but lost ALOT of lures cuz the line must of freyed rubbing on rocks

From: Grant: Madison, WI

Comments: Best braid made. I have used the same spool to catch largemouth in Illinois to Blue Fish in North Carolina. Handles everything I have thrown at it. I have tried several other braids, but this is the real deal. Color fades a little over time, but not as fast as other braids.

From: Ryne: IL

Comments: i use 30 lbs test on my live bait riggs for cats and it didnt fray until my 4th mounth using it average fish 10lbs but caught a 34 pounder

From: Kee: IL, USA

Comments: Love this braid!! does everything i need it to do. super strong, slick, and smooth. i wont buy anything else!

From: Bass Assasin: OH

Comments: Best braid out there. Packs on reel nice. Cast nice and  very strong. When spooling on reel, wet the line so you can pack a lot more on.

From: Daniel: Ontario

Comments: Threw frogs into vegetation with it for the first time the other day. Super strong, supreme castability, and just an all around great braid. Only complaint is that the color bled and my thumb was dyed green.

From: Scotty: VA

Comments: Best Braid known to fishermen! Unless you don't know how to tie a knot, this line will NOT break. I"ve pulled "TOADS" outta slop, weeds, and sticks with no problems. Believe me, after using Power Pro for the first time, you'll never use another type of Braid again! 65lb for the flippin stick and frog rod, 30lb - 50lb for everything else!!!!

From: Vee: Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Comments: Best braid out there.   Shimano makes it so what more is there to say.  Does NOT fray like Spiderwire.  You won't be disappointed.  65lb for frogs and heavy cover!

From: Adam: Phila, PA

Comments: I have no idea why people would buy any other braid.  Only buyer beware warning is your hands, rod, and reel will be little black from this color the first few times you use it.

From: Josh: IL

Comments: the best line I have ever used. Perfect for getting bass out of heavy cover.

From: Mike: Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Comments: Use for flippin' and frog fishing.  It's all I need in a braided line.  Great stuff in every way!

From: Scott: KY

Comments: great braid i use it for all flippen pitchen and froggin for those things its a must have i have tried spider wire it is horrible compared to this get a spool or two you will not be disappointed!:)

From: Louis: LA

Comments: very bad braid, extreemly stiff, its horible, would never buy this braid again!!

From: Ben: Aus

Comments: By far the best braid on the market.I caught a 130lb tarpon on 15lb power pro with ease. Great from ultra light tw low all the way to flipping in heavy cover. 10 out of 10

From: Bobby: Miami, FL

Comments: very good braid for the lower cost compared to most braids no a days..the color fades some what but no to bad..but so does other braids..strong..makes noise when casting but so what..i like the sound

From: Don: Jersey

Comments: ive been using this line its worth it to buy it at only cheap price, cast very smooth and very tough in a thin diameter

From: Fitrii: Brune, Darussalam

Comments: For the price this is the braid you want. But it loses its color fast and frays fast. But if you charge your line alot this is the line for you

From: Sonny: East Wareham, MA

Comments: i love this line especially 15lbs as due to its strength n abrasive resistance when cast at rocky outcrops. the price is reasonable too

From: Siid: Brunei Darussalam

Comments: MY first braided line. Using 15 lbs. test on my main rod which I fish mostly wacky or texas rigged plastics.  I've caught two 4 lb. bass this season and line held fine.

From: Austin: St. Paul, MN

Comments: i used this line for cuda and for tuna man dose this stuff hold up to some powerful fish can't wait to test this line pn a mako yeah thats right i said it mako

From: Kris: San Diego, CA

Comments: Great line! I use it for my costom 6'6" Quatum Engry PT rod and a Shimano Curado for worms and spinnerbaits I used yellow 30 Lbs. test line great stuff it is rough but my costom rod was made for braid so bring it on!

From: Matt: Lima, OH

Comments: Power Pro Briad is the best braid out there ive fished them all before an theres no comparison ill keep usen the 40# on my casting rods an 20# for spiners an shacky heads way to go power pro
