Comments: I don't know where to begin with this bait. I will say that I fish 3 tournament trails, and I did a few grand in tournament winnings last year, and not one tournament did I not weigh in at least one fish from The Brat! I fish the 6" diving one almost exclusively. You can throw it up shallow and it will come through everything. Deflects well in wood, has an extreme action really works well around rip rap because when it deflects it will jump sideways, and 75% of my bites come off the defection. I have fished multiple banks where I go down it with a different Squarebill, and not even a sniff, grab a brat and go down the same bank and put multiple fish in the boat. Best Squarebill on the market hands down!! I simply just change my colors with the season and water clarity! Don't let the small size fool you either, I caught multiple 5lb+ fish last year and 3 over 6! It's a fish catcher in general!!

Comments: I needed a small crank that casts well, doesn't go too deep, doesn't have a cheesy loud rattle, and has a less pronounced wobble. Found it! Might upsize the hooks but that's about all I will tinker with.

Comments: My little brat got eaten by a 6lb largemouth while catching numerous 2-3lb smallies, gotta love those surprises. I was a little reluctant to throw it for largemouth because of its small size, I was wrong. Dives quick, cast good and has wooden crank action. Looking forward to the mid size brat. Hooks are very small so I did up size and works great

Comments: I like this bait a lot. Balsa breaks easily but the plastic coating really makes this bait quite durable while maintaining that same balsa action. These are hard to find but if you can get your hands on some you will catch fish.

Comments: Catches them pretty good but the bill's on these for me have shattered easily.

Comments: I am really excited about the BX Brat #6 crankbait. I am a spinning reel fanatic and this lure fits in nicely with my arsenal. I use a MH rod and 10-pound Trilene XL in low visibility green. I would compare this lure to the Storm Wiggle Wart but in a smaller version. It has a fairly wide wobble with great action. I'm sure that if you used a longer rod and lighter line that you might be able to get it to dive down to 6 feet. But typically for me it reaches 3 or 4 feet. The hooks are sticky sharp but a little bit brittle and have broken. But its no problem to change out the hooks if that happens. From: Ken: Tulsa, OK 3/30/20
Comments: Fastly becoming my favorite shallow squarebill. It's size is smaller but it will catch large fish. It is very castable and will occasionally foul up on the cast but not nearly as bad as some of my other go to cranks. The colors look great online but are better in person. From: Jimmy: Virginia 9/14/19
Comments: Fantastic squarebill. Has a good wobble and somewhat of a hunting action. The color selection is great, and it's compact size really appeals to bass in less than ideal conditions. Fished this guy at Lake Powell recently and absolutely nailed both large and smallmouth bass on it, deflecting it off of shallow rocks and gravel. Also caught walleye and striper on it. My new favorite shallow crank.

Comments: Currently my go to square bill. I'm a square bill junkie and own/use them all. This one just seems to get more bites and work through heavy cover better than the rest. I upgrade the hooks to short shank #4 & #6 Gamakatsu EWGs with all of them including this one. The one I have tied on at the moment is completely beat up from all the fish I have put in the boat with it including missing one eye. That doesn't seem to bother the fish though.

Comments: I bought this little gem at the beginning of the season, for a number of reasons. 1. being it was bright orange (Blaze, as most lakes I fish are stained) and 2. it had a max depth of 3' which would allow me to target shallow water. I was a bit concerned about the size of only 2" not catching the big fish. Well, color me surprised. Not only did this little lure deliver, but it is durable as all get out. I was easily able to retrieve this over rocky bottoms without it getting snagged or bent hooks and the action is simply incredible. In one evening I caught 10 good sized northern and 2 large bass and the lure held up with minor scratches. I did not have any issues with this lure getting tangled in the line like I do most other crank baits and we had a good with of 14mph. I would highly recommend this bait and I myself with be buying many other colors.

Comments: I finally had a good opportunity to try this lure. Cast good, great action, and catches fish on cast that everything goes smoothly. I seemed to have lots of trouble with the hook catching the line and fouling

Comments: Big fan of squarebills and the Rapala BX Brat has quickly become my favorite. Caught many bass including my PB 12-10 last week. Great action and the copolymer case over balsa is extremely durable. Color detail and flash is superb, my favorite is silver. Deflects off wood as well as any out there. One point here. Don't be fooled into thinking squarebills are snagproof. If you fish wood as I do you will lose some baits. If you don't you will not catch many bass. The 2 inch size is perfect and the 3/8 oz. allows for long casts, especially with spinning tackle. I don't care for the small (even for 6's) stock trebles and lost a couple of nice fish. I replaced with Gamakatzu G-finesse TGW Nano no. 5 trebles. With these trebles I've yet to lose a fish (though I'm sure I will eventually). Great squarebill, give it a try, you won't be disappointed. This and Rapala X-rap my most productive fall and winter hard baits. Good fishing to all.

Comments: The Rapala Balsa Xtreme BX Brat Square Bill Crankbait is my favorite Crankbait. I have caught a lot of Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass on the BXB-6 Haymaker color. I use it on a 7foot medium action baitcaster with 12lb Trilene XL Clear Blue Florescent line.

Comments: Brought two of these in "rock solid" color, size 3 and 6 last month. I have caught smallmouth and largemouth bass, white perch and pickerel up here in Maine trolling and casting. I've been amazed at what a fish magnet these are! I will buy more.
From: Steven - Maine 10/18/17
Comments: I llike the BX Brat, there are very few small square bill crankbaits that can dive down to 6'. They have been effective for me for LMB, SMB, and Spots. I changed the hooks like I normally do, but didn't change the split rings. I managed to straighten out one of the split rings, which I will now replace.

Comments: Awesome squarebill crankbait ! I love the Brat's ability to catch fish. Now if Rapala could only make a eight to ten foot running Brat squarebill this lineup would be complete. The Balsa Xtreme BX Brat Squarebill Crankbait is one of the hottest, fish catching lures available this fall. Try one today!
