2015 Bassmasters Classic Release
Built to perfectly “shadow” the natural movements of a dying baitfish, the Rapala Shadow Rap Deep allows anglers to utilize the erratic attraction of the Shadow Rap in a slightly deeper arena. Designed with flat sides and a larger bill, the Rapala Shadow Rap Deep shimmies and flickers on a horizontal plane with very little forward movement, prolonging the time spent in a fish’s strike zone.On the inside, the Rapala Shadow Rap Deep is constructed with a fixed weighting system that acts like a minnow’s swim bladder, causing it to sink with a mouthwatering shimmy. As it fades into the darkness, a sharp snap of the rod tip brings the Rapala Shadow Rap Deep back to life with a bursting flutter that causes fish to strike out of sheer impulse.Armed with a trio of razor-sharp VMC trebles, the Rapala Shadow Rap Deep knocks on death’s door with an expiring presentation that perfectly captures the subtleties of a dying baitfish as it fades into the “shadows.”
Upgrade Your Treble Hooks!
Comments: Not sure why I own any other color than the ghost shad (but I do...). agree with most posts; flat out catches fish down here on the TN river chain. Use the deeper diver in the river with the quick depth breaks.

Comments: Awesome jerkbait for the price and it's worked when Megabass hasn't. If you fish water with pike in it, it's a great alternative to more expensive jerkbaits. Dives to the listed depth and sinks extremely slowly. Casts very well and has a hard side to side action. I've even caught fish on it slowly swimming it over grass. Be prepared to change out the hooks, they break easily.

Comments: Love this jerkbait.toss the megabass 110's a lot...just get bit a lot with the rapala.cast/jerk or even trolling. From: Willie: Chickamauga 11/6/20Comments:This was my favorite deep jerk bait until summer 2018 when 5 of my shadow raps and 3 rip stops blew up and expanded to look like over ripe green beans in the same box as 20 year old husky jerks . Rapalla customer service said it was my fault for leaving them in the heat .I Have used Rapalla baits for 30 years with no issues . Why didn't the 20 year old husky jerks blow up? Poor quality on the new baits . They catch fish but so do othe baits made by companies that stand behind their products.
From:Dave: New Hampshire 7/14/18
Comments:This is my favorite deep diving jerkbait. It'll run at 5 to 8 feet consistently and despite a bigger lip, still retains a good side to side dart on the rip. Only downfall is the durability isn't fantastic, and it doesn't cast particularly well. For that reason I feel it's best fished on spinning gear.
From: Tyler:Grand Junction, CO3/24/18
Comments: This bait is straight trash. I used a bone colored jerkbait for the first time, and I had only caught 1 fish on it and bounced it off some wood and rocks. A couple hours later two treble hooks were bent, and there was a spilt on the back and the bottom. THIS PRODUCT IS TRASH I'M SENDING IT BACKwill
From: Unknown 3/5/18
Comments:This was a unbelievable jerkbait from a fish catching standpoint. I caught a ton of bass on it in the fall. But it is not a sturdy bait. I broke 3 of them but I still kept fishing it because it was such a fish catcher. I'm looking for another jerkbait that can hold up better. I would recommend this bait but you really have to be carful with it.
From: Dylan Morgan: Maine 11/23/17
Comments:Shadow rap and shadow rap shad is hands down my favorite jerk bait. I recently cleared all other makes out of my box . My jerk bait box consists only of shadows and shadow taps, a few x raps . Today I caught over eight walleyes and a handful of smallie sin 52 degree water. All hail the shadow rap!
From: Nick smallz: Brighton colorado 11/13/17
Comments:I have the Ghost Shiner and this bait just catches fish. Caught a ton of fish on it yesterday and was amazed. Went out today and caught a 6 pounder! Doesn't break the bank and is a very sturdy trust worthy lure!
From: Matt - PA 4/26/17
Comments:Shadow rap deep is absolute money. It suspends and slow-falls perfectly horizontally, regardless of water temperature and line size. You can't say that with many jerkbaits, especially those at this price point. Rip it over schools of bait and let it sit, and the bass will travel a long ways to come get it.Only downsides are the hooks (change them out with Mustad or Gamakatsu) and the weight of the lure- it can be difficult to cast as far as others because it is relatively light.
From: Unknown Minneapolis, MN 4/6/17
Comments:Fantastic lure! I'd rate a 11/10! I was impressed with the rapala x-rap & one I started throwing the shadow rap I put more fish on the boat. Every twitch is a full 180 degree turn. Great bait for early season smallie fishing
From: Keiran: Amherst, NH 4/3/16
Comments:Best jerkbait out there! I caught several 2lbers & even a 5 on this bait. This definitely bait definitely has a place in my tackle box.
From: Zachary: Edmond, OK 2/17/16
Comments:This lure rocks! You can really feel the vibration with each slap of your rod. Hooked into several great fish with the purpledescent color. Caught a 4 lb er just yesterday with this bait. If you want to catch fish pick up a few.
From: Phillip: Beebe, AR 12/20/15
Comments:Normally a bait with a ton of hype like the Shadow Rap got usually ends with disappointment, but not this one, it really did live up to the hype. The first time I used it, the very first cast with it and I had a 3lb largemouth & it has been great ever since. If you have water that is between 40 and 50 degrees with 3' of visibility, then the Shadow Rap will work, I was a little skeptical but not any more.
From: DD: Reading, PA 9/12/15
Comments:This lure is amazing. It has incredible action. I used this lure at a lake where it is hard to catch a single bass in a day and I caught 5 in one hour with this lure. This is now my favorite jerkbait and maybe my favorite lure.
From: Jacob: Gilbert, AZ 8/26/15
Comments:This bait is responsible for my Personal Best. First time out using it. The action is remarkable. Something about the flat sides just gives it the little extra that other jerk baits don't seem to have. Have bought just about every color now. They work wonders. Especially in colder waters. Thank you Rapala
From: Andy: IN 7/23/15
Comments:These are my favorite jerk-bait! They catch a lot of bass. Work them slow like the manufacture suggests or fast. The bass cant resist them. I own several of them now.
From: David: Angola, IN 6/15/15
Comments:This bait has a very tight wobble at the end of every jerk. It looks just like a dying bait fish, and is a good and less expensive alternative to the Megabass 110+1.
From: Ryan: Winber, PA 6/9/15
Comments:wow, what can I say, this bait is truly amazing. I used it this weekend with amazing results. Caught 30 largemouth bass on an area lake and even had a double after trying some other techniques with luck but the quantity and quality wasn't there this bait first cast was the deal for the next two hours . Hooked every fish that struck at the bait. Easy to use and looks amazing in the water too. I am going to load the jerkbait box with a bunch more. I highly recommend this bait when all else fails.
