9.1 pound bassI love throwing walking baits and this one is the best. I keep trying others but this one just gets bit more for some reason. I've tried the Vixen because of its reputation. To me nothing has the action or sound of the Rover. My 9.1lb PR was caught on the T1000.

Best topwater you can buy! This bait calls them from the depths! Had multiple spots completely launch themselves out of the water to kill it. Works in 5 to 30 ft.

Fish catching baitThis lure got me hooked on bass fishing and got me a third place finish in an ABA.

Comments: These Wisconsin Smallies absolutely kill the 128 in Funky Tiger or Bone colors. Walks easily and makes enough noise and commotion to call up bass wherever you're fishing. Must have for topwater guys like myself!

From: Jay: Wisconsin 5/17/23

Comments: Have the larger size and it's amazing. Walks well, makes a lot of commotion, and has held up perfectly threw tons of bass and pike both. Casts a mile as well which is always nice.

From: Hayden: Idaho 6/5/22

Comments: Love these baits, identical to a Vixen the best that I can tell, the sound is different but they both catch fish, I wasn't very impressed with the smaller size though, Definitely doesn't walk the same as the 128, so be warned, other than that well worth the money

From: Jared: Missouri 2/6/22

Comments: As many others have stated about this lure, the Rover 128 is very easy to walk, and has a wide, side to side walking action, with a very discernible knocking sound.  Colors are all great too. The hooks are a bit too beefy for my liking, and that may be the cause of one problem I'm having with this bait, which is casting distance.  The Rover 128 doesn't seem that aerodynamic.  I throw the Megabass Dog X Diamante, Lucky Craft's Super Sammy 128, and an Evergreen Shower Blows, and all three of these lures cast like a bullet when the wind is in the right direction.  The Rover 128 wants to tumble somewhat no matter what wind direction you're casting in, and I tie direct to the eyelet of the lure (no split ring) to reduce tumbling in the air. Maybe changing out the hooks, or removing the thick tail feather hook on it will help.

Comments: This bait was to be the vixens replacement. Built near the exact same as the cherished tournament winning vixen. but just not it's equal. the vixen has a shaper "ting" noise when walked. I've only one left and refuse to pay $100 for those selling their vixens. these rovers are nice. they do catch bass. the rover is one of the better top water baits you'll own. just not vixen is all. Be sure and buy in the 128 size

From: dean: Las Vegas, NV 9/30/20

Comments: Love the bait but whats with the smaller hook on the front I didnt realize it until I ordered more and looked at all of the ones I have and they all have a smaller hook on the front? Is this normal? Other then that the bait is awesome.

Comments: This is my go to top water bait when wanting a walk the dog style bait.  Has great action slow or fast and is really loud.  It out fishes a super spook 10 to 1.  Love the powder and you know it colors.  Buy it you wont be disappointed!

From: Brad: Kentucky 10/15/19

Comments: I hadn't used a Spook style lure often before, but I liked this lure. I got the large size, which was a bit bigger than I anticipated, but I still had no problem coaxing SMB into biting it. This thing is easy to walk fast or slow, loud and casts a mile.  The hooks are decent at not getting tangled while casting too, which I appreciate. Only downside was that the paint has chipped off a fair bit, but I don't think it makes much of a difference.

Comments: Good all around bait just change out the hooks

From: Unknown: 7/22/19

Comments: Can't say enough good about this bait, has won me money for the last three seasons. Easy to walk, tight turns, lots of splash, and a loud rattle. I like the 128 size, it sits high in the water even at rest so if your weeds run close to the surface its not usually an issue on this one like it is most others.

From: Carl: Detroit 6/26/19

Comments: When I first heard the phrase that Spots love Spooks, Fishing the Rover was not what I had in mind.  But now that I have fished this in several NorCal Reservoirs I can attest to the fact that spots do in fact love spooks.  Especially this one.  This bait has accounted for over 1/2 of my spots 2.5lbs or better this year including multiple 3.5-4lb spots, and good largemouth as well.  I have now tried Loon, Chrome/Black, Horizon Shad, Powder and Ghost Minnow.  Every color has stuck fish.  Construction is good, casts well but does helicopter some.  Easy to work, good splash when you want it but a wide glide on a softer/slower twitch.  Work it fast or slow it gets bit.  I only fish the 128mm size and have caught fish from 8" to 4lbs or so.  Will be buying more.  Yoda and Sooner will be the next two colors for me.

From: Mike: Nor Cal: 6/15/18

Comments: If there is the potential of a top water eat, I'm not going to leave home without at least 1 in the box.  This bait has (for me) out performed every other top water I have thrown this year in terms of hits and hook up ratio.  I throw the 128mm size in Ghost Minnow, Powder and Horizon Shad.  Killer top water.  Depending on how hard you twitch it, you can get a good splash out of the mouth if you need to, but you can also slow down just a touch and the bait will still walk wide.  This bait has a nearly obnoxiously loud rattle.  Plus even though it's a large bait, it isn't straining or tiring to work.  Short sharp twitches of the rod are all you need to get the bait to cover water.  Even the 128mm size is a killer bait for spots.  Will draw numbers as well as quality bites.

From: Mike - California 5/4/18

Comments: Just recently started throwing bigger baits, remembered i got the big size in one of my MTB boxes about a year ago and figured i would throw it and see what bites it. well this weekend i got to the lake around 11 pm it was pitch black and threw this for about a 30 minutes then got bit by a 5 pounder. next morning woke up and went out for the morning bite and got a couple quality fish and missed a monster. Confidence went way up. even caught a couple 1 and 2 pounders on it too. moral of the story good bait, easy walk the dog action. definitely gets bit.

From: jay: usa 10/16/17

Comments: Best underated walking bait on the market! The best and easiest bait to walk the dog. Great action and noise that drive fish crazy. Heard through resources that they will be discontinued soon so get them while you can before they will gone.

From: Dave: Paris, Alabama 5/28/17

Comments: Awesome bait s super loud draws the fish up!

From: Ryan: Temecula CA

Comments: If you Like Spooks and Vixens you need to try these. Very good sound, and walking action. Hooks are fair, got dull quick. Finish looks great new, but will wear kinda quick. Over all a great bait with good color combos, you will not be let down.

Comments: Awesome bait drives the bass crazy!

Comments: Was given one of these as a gift and had a quality issue with the bait.  I contacted River2sea and they sent out a replacement bait within 24hrs of my first email to them.  Top notch company to deal with!  Great walking bait that makes a good amount of commotion on the turn.
