Less invasive, yet just as effective as the original, the River2Sea Whopper Plopper Silent delivers the same signature topwater disruption as its noisy brother, minus the internal acoustics. Perfect for targeting pressured and easily spooked fish, the River2Sea Whopper Plopper Silent features a stickbait style front-half and a rotating backside, which delivers a heavy sputter as it moves across the surface.Whether you crawl it super-slow along weed lines, burn it over miles of wind-blown bank, or employ slight twitches to generate an attention-grabbing splash, the River2Sea Whopper Plopper Silent flat-out gets bit. Built to cast like a bullet, the River2Sea Whopper Plopper Silent is incredibly effective at all speeds, making it a great tool for honing-in on the most productive speed and rhythm for that particular day.Armed with razor-sharp River2Sea treble hooks, the River2Sea Whopper Plopper Silent furthers the fish-catching prowess of the Whopper Plopper series, giving anglers another lethal option for provoking topwater strikes.

Comments: Here it is end of Summer/Early fall and the bass are chasing bait fish all over the lake so what do I do? I grab this bait in the 90 size in either I Know It or Bone. I really think the silent version is perfect for this time of year. I caught three today that were chasing bait. Splash splash, look over see shad being chased, throw the WP and booooom!

Comments: 60 size. I wanted these to work so bad. Not the case. Bought 4 of these. Everyone of them runs on its side or rolls. Tried everything, different knots, different line, swivels etc.

Comments: This bait draws strikes but like a frog fish do not stay stuck. I have much better luck using a medium heavy crank bait rod with some backbone, but the hooks are too big and thick for a moderate tip. Switch out sharper thinner barbed hooks and let the rod compensate. Also helps to bow the rod to the fish like a steelhead when they jump- and they inevitably will jump- to take away their leverage. Strikes are really cool though.

Comments: These are the best. I've tried Berkley's knockoff version and they pale in comparison to R2S original. Solid consist action and hookups. Will be adding more to my arsenal for sure. Some may find them a bit pricey, but in my opinion, you're paying for quality.

Comments: love the bait, amazing for pike, pickrel, smallies, largies, walleye caught my PB pickrel, first and biggest pike on the yoda color size 130 this summer on lake Winnipesaukee(i think that that's how you spell it). the one thing that I would change about the bait is adding is swiveled line tie so there is less twists in my line after. also if you are looking at one, make sure that the custom eye is there

Comments: Great bait as we all know but change out the split rings. Hooks are solid but had a split ring bend out. just a reminder so you don't have a heartbreak. From: Will H: Oregon 11/27/20
Comments: There is nothing more infuriating than spending over $15 on a lure to get it in your hands and realize it's a $7 lure with $8 added to the price tag for gimmicks or capitalizing on popularity. This is not the case with a Whopper Plopper.Paint and finish is top shelf, hooks are strong and sharp and the entire fit and finish of the bait is what you are paying for.As others have mentioned, it is a very durable bait and can have the everlovin snot beat out of it and does not break (case in point, one night fishing trip I misjudged the location of the bank and cast the 110 full speed into the truck of a tree with no issues).Yes, you can save a few bucks buying a Berkley Choppo (nothing against the Choppo, it is a fine budget prop bait) but holding them both hand in hand you can tell the where the extra money River2Sea is charging is going:the design, the hooks and you can hear it in the retrieve. From: Bill: Florida 10/26/20Comments: This is by far one of my favorite topwater lures (other than a booyah frog). It works like a charm, it catches big ones and small ones. I have the 90f size in bluegill and the 90f size in blueblood and let me say that the bluegill color works very well in the ponds that I fish. I feel like the 90f size is a good all around size and a bluegill color or a shad color work good as well. It comes with strong and sharp hooks and strong split rings. I throw this lure in all sorts of conditions, cloudy, sunny, windy, or calm and it works day in and day out. This is a great overall lure!!!

Comments: Haven't tried the bigger ones, but the 75 is flat out deadly.Have used it mostly in super clear water near and over grass.Catches everything from dink's to the toads, my best being 4.98 pounds so far.Loon and Bone are the best colors I've used so far.Aside from frogs this is my preferred topwater presentation.

Comments:Definitely has a place in everyone's tackle box. Took me a while to catch my first fish on a WP, but once the seal was broken, it became a go-to quickly. The 130 is great for larger fisheries and a bigger bite and the 110 is a great all-around size. That being said, the 75 is fantastic is you're after fish in clear, shallow or pressured waters. I also like the 75 in colder water, even into the 50's it will catch them. The 75 also still runs will with #2 ewg trebles if you like fishing close to coverFrom: Ryan: Dallas Fort-Worth, TX 1/8/20
Comments: I am writing this review not on the baits fish-catching ability because its know far and wide as a fish catching machine. i am here to tell you the insane durability this thing has. i have yanked it out of trees, banged it on rocks, and of course caught some giants on it. one thing that really spoke out to me was this weekend. i was out fishing a small private lake when i come across something white floating in the water ("I know it" best color btw) and when i picked it up, it was the same whopper plopper i lost to a bad know a few MONTHS ago. it must have been floating around since then. i know it was mine because of the size and color and the small scratch it has on its side from a sharp rock. heres the crazy part. it was completely fine. no rust whatsoever, the plopper still spun great. the only issue is the algae stuck on it! i never changed any hardware on it at all. i strongly urge you to get one of these things. worth the money and then some! From: Jake: 12/3/19
Comments:I live in a large city with few public ponds which are extremely pressured. I live close to one small pond in particular and there is almost always other anglers there, and there is little structure and no vegetation growing out of the water, just concrete surrounding the sides I bought the whopper plopper and did not expect to catch anything since the bite is almost always finesse or slow technique. I've tried poppers, spooks, and other topwaters many times with no success, so it was time to try the whopper plopper. I tried a few times and I did not give up, but today I FINALLY got one on TOPWATER with my whopper plopper in my local pond. Let me be clear. The bass in my pond are very skittish and they are mainly caught on dropshot or weightless plastics. Even though it took awhile, it is really amazing to get one with this noisy little lure. I feel that if it can do it in my local pressured pond, then it can do it almost anywhere with bass. I'm using a straight retrieve with the Monkey Butt Color in the 90 size. At first, after a long cast this bait wouldn't plop as well but I figured out that it is VERY IMPORTANT to hold the rod tip really high so that the front of the lure comes up and forces the prop into the water. Also, its not necessary to have a clear leader; staight braid is fine because the line dosen't even touch the water when the rod tip is held high enough. Hope this helps skeptics take a shot at the whopper plopper, even those who live in urban areas with pressured ponds

Comments:I've used the 110 in "Bluegill" and the 75 in "I know it"- i prefer the later. It catches big and small, works on a straight retrieve, with pauses and jerking. The trebles hooks are an upgrade from the 110- usually the fish are hooked on the 2 trebles. Just yesterday i caught 2 fish on the same cast- it's an addictive lure!

Comments:I've spent the last two seasons fishing the WP 90 and 110 and now the 75 to start this season. Fishing almost exclusively for river smallmouth I have found that I have the best hook up ratio with the 75 and 90. I would have to say I prefer the 75 at this point, that being said I have a hard time not using the 110 even though I tend lose a few fish at times. The reason being is the 110 is the most consistent no matter what retrieve you use... I'm sure I could also do a better job setting the hook at times, but this is just my honest two cents on those three sizes of the Whopper Plopper. Love the lure in general. From:Jeremy: Wisconsin 6/17/19
Comments:I have used the 110 and 130 size in blue blood and bluegill color. Mostly fishing from the bank I have found that fan casting using a steady medium fast retrieve, like you'd use to keep a spinnerbait just above grass. This speed spits a good amount of water and leave a nice bubble trail. Fishing it at that speed draws in strike from schooling fish and fish who are aggressive but spread out. When this speed doesn't work I parallel the bank with cast and reel just fast enough that the propellor spins and you can't hear it bubbling. I noticed that I have caught larger fish on this bait with this slow retrieve. Tend to have an average of a pound to two pounds with the fast retrieve while an average for the slow retrieve seems to be 2.5 pounds to 3.

Comments:Does anything else really need to be said about the Whopper Plopper? All of the pros and the few cons are well documented. Personally, theyve turned into one pf my go-to topwater lure for river Smallies! I've also caught Largemouth, Pike, Walleye, Crappie and one monster Rock Bass. I've only used the 90 size, but picked up a couple 75's this winter. Perch, Bluegill and Sooner are good colors for me. I feel like the action is the real draw here though.

Comments:If you haven't experienced the joy of catching fish on a WP, then you're missing out. They are my go to lure and frankly its hard to put them down. They have caught fish at all times of the day and in many conditions.Recently I was fishing a local river (Rouge) and the PIKE were literally jumping out of the water and attacking it.A couple of the topwater explosions were made for TV.The 90's have caught big fish so I've mainly stuck with them but I do have a few 110's that are good.My favorite WP are 1.) 90 Frog (limited) 2.) 90 Bone 3.) 110 PowderI might invest in a 130 next just for the heck of it...

Comments:I have fished all of the sizes and the best colors seem to be munky butt, and rainbow. I primarily use the 110, 90. I have just recently bought a couple size 75. They work great but do tend to roll at higher speeds. If I had to buy one size it would be the munky butt in 110.
From: Lake8/20/18
Comments:The 110 is the best size by far for Smallmouth or Largemouth and the only size ill use. The 90 rolls on its side and the 75's hooking percentage is terrible. The 110 is a great lure though.

Comments:The plop daddy is probably my favorite bait when it comes to topwater fishing. I just fished the whopper plopper 75 in the perch color and it is bigger and better than the 90 I out fished my friend who was also using a whopper plopper just in the 90. It make a bigger sound and throws more water
From: Luke:Utah 8/10/18
Comments:This absolutely killer top-water lure has become my all-time favorite bass bait in the course of just over a month. My Bone 110 is a total confidence lure that I throw when I need a bite. Casts a mile, catches fish on a number of varied retrieves, catches both numbers and size, and is plain fun to fish whether you're catching em or just watching it come back to the boat. Only negative is if there is grass in your lake, it seems to magnetize to the trebles and ruin your retrieve, usually at the far end of a 100 foot cast.Bottom line: If you like top-water bassin' (if you don't, what is wrong with you?) then you owe it to yourself to use this lure. My mother, who could not care less about fishing, insists I take her out again just because, in her words "I wanna Whopper Plop again!"

Comments:Bought the new Whopper Plopper 75 in bone color. Very good detail compared to the other sized WP. It's just shy of 5/8 oz, and it casts far on baitcast gear. Slow to medium retrieve is the sweet spot for this lure. If you try to reel fast or burn it, it will barrel roll or on a fast retrieve, it will swim on it's side. I'm surprised it does this since it has a fairly deep belly. I thought that would act like a keel, but it doesn't. I have added a black barrel swivel and black split ring to try out next time. I hope the action of the lure does not change adding these, but to lessen the chance of it twisting my line if it does a barrel roll. The sound of the tail sounds similar to the 110 size, It does not sound like the 90, which I think has a slightly higher sound.I used it this past Sunday, July 22 at a city park lake. On the 3rd cast, and just reeled in not to long, I get a huge blow up on the WP 75. I landed a 7 lb bass! Biggest bass I've caught on a WP and I have the 130, 110 and 90 sizes. What I do like about this lure are the stock treble hooks are stout, strong. The body is stubbier and compact than the other WP sizes. So when I hooked onto that bass, both treble hooks were on the bass. One in the mouth and the rear treble on the outside of the mouth. No way was this bass coming off, it was pinned. Also the weight of the WP 75, I can make long casts where the bass are.The bone color in the 75, I'm sold. I'm looking to getting the Loon color and one other in the 75 size.

Comments:Bought my second WP after I lost my first to a big pike last year without catching a bass on it. This season I have struggled to keep the bass off of it. It triggers the MOST aggressive strikes I have ever seen from a top water bait. I have fish from 5 inches to 5 pounds slamming this thing. They are also the kings of the night bite!!!

Comments:Two weekends ago I got up at 5:30 and got on the water and I knew EXACTLY what I was gonna throw. Half an hour later I had caught 6 bass all in the 3lb range, so I set up along this bank and make this big bomber cast and start reeling. It gets out to a little bit of open water and WHAM. This fish starts to dive to deep water and I'm thinking it's a 10 lber(keep in mind the lake record is 5lbs) and see this fish's head and I realize that it's a MASSIVE pike. I'm screaming cause I'm using 15lb test mono on a 6'6 medium casting rod. Completely the wrong gear. No leader, nothing. I net this fish and it's thrashing around and somehow it manages to slither it's slimy body right out of a hole. Meanwhile I'm just thinking hat's it, you know. So I'm trying to find something that'l help me land this fish and I see my lip grips. I throw these things in the water and get this fish and I'm just saying to myself, what now? I can't bring him in the kayak so I go over to someone else's property(I know them) and I drag this fish on land and I take my phone to call my grandpa and what do you know, no service. Just then I hear the guy who owns the property clear his throat behind me and I use his phone to call my grandpa and he comes over in his boat. We get back to the cottage and I get my scale and this fish weighs in at 15lbs. My PB. And what do you know it's on the 90 size Whopper Plopper which didn't brake the hooks didn't bend out. After rambling on and on I give the Whopper Plopper a 5/5. IG: oliverpelc(for proof of the fish).

Comments:I fish the 90 almost exclusively, but I have several 130's and two 110's. The 90 is quite possibly the best smallmouth topwater in history. In river systems, if you cast with the current and reel the bait back against the current is makes the smallies so mad that they absolutely CRUSH it. In lakes, fishing the 90 or 110 over rocky points or next to docks have landed me several 3lb+ smallies and two smallies over 4. This is the topwater chatterbait, there's no other way to describe it.
Comments:Love the 110's, the 90's.....not so much. I started with the 90's and like some others have said; unless I reel this thing REAL SLOW it tends to roll on me. I have tried keeping my rod tip up; I have tried reeling as slow as possible etc.; but it rolls on me half the time for some reason. I decided then to try the 110's and love them. I can reel them fast or slow and I still get great plopping action. I just sold all of my 90's and will only be using the 110's from here on out. The water is still a little cold here in PA (around 55 degrees); but Plopper season should be in full swing soon and the 110's are where it's at.

Comments:wrote a review for the regular whopper plopper. now that I have bought a couple of 110 silent models its another review time...this bait has great hooks/rings, just like the 130/190. colors are great. however I did notice more of a twisting action in the 110 than the 130. but not as bad as the 90. I should note here that I added ball bearing swivels to the front of these 110 models too. I guess the heavier the lure the more stable? lure floated just fine, so no sinking issues. cast like a bullet. as with the 130/190 models, I suggest using heavier bait casting tackle. at least a m.h.rod, braid and a good reel. no medium rods no spincast reels. my opinion is the bass want to kill this lure. they hit it hard. so cheesey equipment shouldn't be used. good luck and be safe on the water..

Comments: I've fish this lure every where and it has caught fish every single time but 1. I took it to Lake Aguamilpa in Mexico and never got one strike. In NC they out fish anything I own. My brother in law can't catch a fish and I gave him the Whopper in the Black Loom and he caught 27 bass in one hour in our farm pond. 7 fish were in 8 cast with 3 of them being over 4lb. I fished a buzz bait and a Texas rig and caught 3 in the same amount of time to show him how effective it is. It's the easiest lure I've ever seen to hook fish as they hook themselves. I have found that on smooth water days the smaller one catches more fish and large fish, if the water has a little chop to it fish the larger size. I fish it on a Bass Mojo topwater rod with 7 to 1 reel cranking it medium speed.

Comments:Purchased a 90 in bone last year and it has performed very well for me. I love top waters so I usually start out the morning with this one and it rarely disappoints me. I got more hook ups when I went up a hook size. Very well made and casts like a bullet. This bait is a killer over weeds or even in open water when fish are active.

Comments:Hum....where to start... i was watching videos on You Tube and i saw that they where throwing a whopper plopper...at first? My thoughts were, just another lure thats going to sit in the box and rust until i throw it out.So i ended up ordering 2 of the 110 size ones and honestly i thought of it as gage gift that i was going to give to my sons.First hands on impressions? Very solid lure, hooks were small for me as all lures seem to come with to small of a hook.Well fast foward, i ordered 3 more in the 90 and and i just cant put these things down..I catch fish all day long on these things. I dont know what it is about them and i just cant understand it but Bass just inhale these things...Suggestions? I would change out the front hook to a 2 for the 90.Also im,46 and have been fishing for years and have fished with just about everything under the sink and NOTHING comes close to working as good as these ploppers do.Get one and fish it, it will not disappoint.

Comments:Just got back from the lake using Whopper Plopper90's and caught several decent bass. We caught fish on these lures up until lunch time...when we came off the lake. This was my first time using this bait after several of the guys in our bass club came in on different club tournaments with good bags of fish. The only thing I didn't like about the lure was when you are trying to get as close to the bank as possible and getting hung up on things like rocks(2 cast, got hung up on the exact same rock) and twigs. When they get hung up, their hung up! Trust me, after getting hung up on the same damn rock twice and had to go to the bait in shallow water was a pain in the butt! Anyhow, I suggest you get you a couple and try them out. I think you will be pleased with the way they catch fish.

Comments:USE FOR FALSE ALBACORE AND BLUEFISH. The fish will murder this lure and bend out the treble hooks if you don't upgrade them and use with mono if ur fishing saltwater for bluefish and albies because they will cut through braid like butter and it is more forgiving on your gear with the low stretch. Reel this lure in at top speed over a bunker school for 100% topwater strikes.

Comments:Dont let the profile, or action of this lure scare you, ive caught the smallest bass i ever have caught on this lure, and ive caught multiple fish over 3, it catches all sizes of bass, the 90 at least, im getting the 110 next, the only problem with the 90 is the split rings, ive lost 4 hooks because they bent out and came off, so might wanna replace them, or get the 110 because the fixed the problem, throw this on 40-50 pound braid, the bait can tangle itself on the line which frays flouro or mono, and you can really bomb this lure on a full spool of braid and a 7'3 medium heavy, you barley have to hookset, just reel into it, i never lose fish. Best lure ever get it in yoda if you are buying one, but get it in bluegill and yoda if u get two

I WAS THROWING THE 130 ONLY AND CATCHING GOOD FISH AND REALLY DID NOT WANT TO SIZE DOWN TO THE 110, GLAD I DID! IT CATCHES THE GOOD FISH YOU WOULD EXPECT FROM THE 130 BUT ALSO CATCHES POUND AND HALF FISH AS WELL, THAT MEANS TWICE AS MANY BLOW UPS! THIS BAIT CATCHES THEM ANY TIME OF DAY AS WELL AND YOU CAN COVER TONS OF WATER WITH IT. I STILL KEEP TWO 130S TIED ON TO MIX IT UP A BIT. I JUST ORDERD 7 MORE 110s, HAVING THEM OVER NIGHTED BECAUSE I CAN'T WAIT TO GET MY HAND ON THEM! GOOD LUCK OUT THERE BE SAFE.

Comments:The thing is a beast. I've thrown it into weed mats as thick as a 2 by 4 and it still plops. Spool it on your flippin stick with 65 lb braid and, whoo baby, it's like slicing butter when you reel it in. It's made for open water, but it can handle all the crap you throw at it, or throw it into. I've hooked fish in the weeds, around tulees, heck I've even hooked logs and had fish strike it while I'm bringin this 50 lb log in. It's a soldier bro. I love this thing so much, it's even better than sex. Trust me when ya order the whopper plopper, it is a do it all, punch that fish right in the face and yank him outta them weeds with a magnet kinda bait. That's right it's a fish magnet. I've got em doin backflips 10 feet out just when this thing hits the water. And when I start crankin it in? That's a whole nuther story bro. You need to try it to see for yerself.

Comments:yup! this thing works like a charm on bass! i noticed that the sound the WP makes is identical to the sound fleeing bait fish make when busting the surface, and i think that's what sets this apart from other topwaters... was getting blanked walking the dog, so finally decided to tie one of these on...3rd cast, boom! lol managed 5 from the bank as i worked/varied the cadence to see how the fish wanted it, which was very slow with a pop on every revolution of the handle....next morning they wanted it slightly faster (only slightly) and picked up 2 more and 3 swings and misses (guy next to me had zero action w/ a torpedo)...one thing i've noticed about topwaters: fish like 'em best in clear! heddon, yo zuri, and now WP...the clearer the better! wierd, i know, but my top action has easily doubled when i switched to clear....in fact, i'm here ordering some clear cuz the local stores dont have 'em, altho the phantom has been working for me as described above... good luck y'all!

Comments:get one. do it now! it's not even topwater season, and this thing is catching 'em, and outcatching anything else i throw! start out with a very slow retrieve, with a mild pop, just enough to create a bit of splash and noise...if that ain't bringing 'em, speed it up slightly... when this thing plops the water it sounds identical to baitfish jumping outa the water...i think that's what the attraction is...pretty exciting to find something i like even more than the yo zuri pencil...and get the clearest model you can find....i throw tops 99% of the time, and a clear bait works twice as good as anything else... i have 8 or 9 of these, and i love throwing 'em! and if the fish prefer a walking the dog action, get one of the clear yo zuri topwaters...both od these are heads and tails above anything else...

Comments:Everyone on the Susquehanna River. YORK/LANCASTER COUNTIES rave about this lure. I bought one and the third cast BOOM! FISH ON. 2 THUMBS UP! This lure is really annoying to your fishing partner that is not fishing a WHOPPER PLOPPER! LOL!. HOOKED FOR LIFE!

Comments:The 90 is a fine lure right out of the box, but as it gets used, inevitably the forward part of the lure begins to spin resulting in bad line twist and a lure that simply will not catch fish. I tune lots of baits, but this one I cannot tune to run correctly. River2Sea needs to change the design to correct this flaw. Fins or a less round bait could help stabilize the lure as would more ballast. I have tried larger hooks, bending the line tie, and eyeballing the spinning shaft to straighten it, but I cannot get my used ploppers to run without turning over.

Comments:Not an everyday lure but when they are on it it is awesome. Just make sure to see how they want it. Some days moving slow. Some days they want it paused and done days they want it fast.

Comments:The Whopper Plopper has undoubtedly made its mark as a top notch top water lure, but what I've experienced after using the size 90 silent phantom shad color is that schooling largemouth & spotted bass prefer this lure over any other top water. It was even able to outdo a Strike King Sexy Dawg fished side by side. Fish cannot resist the action of the Plopper; especially when they're busting up on the top. This lure was my ace in the hole, helping me to land two extra keepers during a tournament!

Comments:Great lure, bought the perch color and took it to a new lake this weekend. Had a 6.1# and a 4.8# hammer it within 15 minutes of each other. One of them hit it so hard it's actually got a visible bite mark on the bottom. Easy to use, casts great, stock hooks did their job just fine. Well worth the money IMO.

Comments:Awesome topwater action. However, after sitting on the deck of my boat in the sun after a few days, the paint job faded on my bluegill pattern. Not sure if this is a quality issue with this one color pattern or all. It doesn't affect the performance of the bait, and technically the fish only see the belly. Its just too bad that a cool looking color pattern faded away.

Comments:Great bait Catches the big ones on a consistent basis. I threw out yesterday & had a mass explosion as the fish hit the bait. I thought I had a Muskie on but it turned out to be two large-mouth on the same bait. Both were over 3 pounds. Quite a fight to get them in the boat. Would not fish without this bait. It's the best.

Comments:Phenomenal lure. By far the best Topwater lure I have ever used. First cast with it, I pulled out a bass in a big reservoir. I was itching to try it and I finally got one and I am extremely pleased & will forsure buy more. Very sharp hooks, and great action in the water. Very pleased, nice job River2Sea.

Comments:I might have the size above the 130. It works awesome. Right before the sun goes down/night time or early morning. Catching 3-6lbers all day on it. Must have. I put an owner size 1 for the first hook & a owner size 2 for the back (so it wouldnt interfere with the tail). Great bait, great action, great price

Comments:great bait to use year round. has become my go to bait when trying to find fish along the banks of the basin! because of the cost of this bait, I fish it with braid & doing so when you set the hook the hooks come off because the splint rings coming apart. change the split rings & you shouldn't have no problems. other than that its a 5 star bait

Comments:River2Sea really raised the bar on these. Heavy duty rings & the hooks OMG! No need for upgrades on these. For those having problems with the tail hook catching on the blade add an extra split ring to the hook. This will take care of this & catch fish that short strike the lure. Great new colors.
