Overview
Designed with BASS Elite Series pro, Mike Mclelland, and built on the popular and effective McStick frame, the Spro McRip 85 employs a bigger bill to get the bait down into the 8-10ft range (on 10lb fluoro) - prime depth ranges for bass early and late in the season. A suspending bait, it features the exclusive Spro weight transfer system, which allows it to cast like a bullet and also suspend perfectly on the pause. Available in a variety of proven colors, the Spro McRip 85 answers bass anglers' call for a smaller profile rip bait that can get down deeper to tempt those suspending fish.

Comments: I'd like to update my review. I had one start to leak that was never cast into anything. I went to replace it as it does catch fish. Under the new pricing, though, I passed. I'm looking right now at a couple of McRips sitting on my desk next to three Duo Realis Jerkbait 100DR's. The Duo's are much more finely designed. They are far better molded and painted. Their eyes are better done and they are equipped with perhaps the best hooks you can buy. They are larger with more internal structure than the McRips. In contrast to all of these attributes, the McRip now cost a dollar more than the Realis. Comparatively, that's aggressive pricing by Spro.

Comments: This is a good jerkbait that slots into a fairly unique size/depth range. It has better action than many others that dive as deep. They walk without easily blowing out when jerked. They aren't quite instant in their stop, though. They do suspend well. The hooks are pretty good quality. The paint is better than the grimy jobs on many Spro crankbaits. I always keep a couple in the watermelon red color n my box.

Comments: Was very impressed by how well this produced for me on the St-Lawrence River system. Chrome Shad and Old Glory do so well with sunlight in clear or stained water. Even in the dark, the vibrations it made while cranking it caught me walleye. Compares and even maybe beats deeper jerkbaits from JDM companies that are double it's price.

Comments: Works well and catches fish when fished with the correct technique. But the downfall is that the lure is overpriced and mine broke pretty fast :( got a small crack and started filling up with water.

Comments: Great Jerkbait. Used it for a 7th place finish at a club tournament on Lake Murray last weekend. Suspends great, fish ate it up!!!
