Overview
At times, standard drop shot hooks may rig off kilter, resulting in lower hook-up ratios. The Standout Drop Shot Hook remedies that problem by rigging straight and perpendicular every time. For proper rigging, tie directly to the Standout Drop Shot Hook's bend and pull the tag end through the eye of the hook. Drop shot baits now stay in an upright position, offering proper bait presentation and better hook-ups.

Comments: Not the biggest fan off these hooks just because I feel they have to bulky of a profile. Personally for me fishing in clear water for Illinois Smallies, the extra bit of hook stands out to the fish and turns them off.

Comments: This is a great drop shot hook. It is sharp and holds its point very well, yet eliminates the tedious and time consuming need to reposition the line until the hook is upright, while avoiding the use of a flimsy built in swivel such as the VMC Spinshot. I use nylon monofilament line plus a Spro Power Swivel and a 24 inch leader ahead of the red size 1 hook in the dingy, shallow water lakes where I typically drop shot for largemouth bass. When I have occasion to fish crystal clear water lakes, I switch to fluorocarbon line and a smaller overall configuration hook like those made by Gamakatsu or Owner and put up with the tedium of tying them on, so I have confidence that the extra metal protruding off the back of the Stand Out tie down system does not put off any extremely wary fish.

Comments: These are awesome drop shot hooks for deep water fishing in Canada for walleyes and lake trout. I use the 2/0 size with a zoom 5" fluke and 1oz weight in 25' to 45' of water and hammer them! keeps the lure in the strike zone and causes bites.
