Designed by Kevin VanDam to be the perfect all-around drop shot bait, the Strike King KVD Dream Shot is based on the popular caffeine shad design with its triangle hinged tail section that quivers and shakes with the smallest movements. It was also the bait that Jonathan Van Dam used to catch the majority of his quality fish and win the 2012 Bassmaster Elite Series Mystery Lake Green Bay Challenge on Lake Michigan. Available in a variety of colors, the Strike King KVD Dream Shot is made with Strike King’s killer Perfect Plastic material and will keep you in the money.
Comments: Two words to describe this lure. SMALLMOUTH CANDY
From: Brandon : West Virginia 5/20/23
Comments: The best drop shot bait hands down. Catches me fish year round, multiple species. I never take the dream shot off my rod. Highly recommend
From: Jimmy: Maryland 4/24/23
Comments: These are the best dropshot baits period beats straight tail roboworms and other styles baits with ease in Gin clear water and catches the big ones on highly pressured water!!
From: Austin: So Cal 7/17/20
Comments: This bait is AMAZING I don't now how many times it has caught me a fish on a bad day. It is my go to drop shot bait. The softness is pretty good compared to other baits but that being said the durability is not the best. I will 100% be buying more. Strike King knocked it out of the park on this bait. From: Jake: North Carolina 6/30/20
Comments: I purchased 3 packages of Dream Shots, 2 in KVD magic and 1 in brown purple. Most of the baits in one pack of the KVD magic just hung vertically down towards the weight. The other 2 packs did stand out horizontally. All baits were rigged the same way. So there maybe some may be some inconsistency from pack to pack. When they do stand out horizontally, they get bit. From: JD: New Hampshire 12/28/19
Comments: These are amazing drop shot baits- period. Don't buy into all the sour mouths who seem mostly to just not like KVD and therefore have some desire to see anything with his name attached to it fail- what you care about is catching bass- right? Well look no further cause if you want to do so with a drop shot rig, this is your best option. I don't know or care about any of the politics or whether someone copied someone else or any of that- but I know in my experience, these things work on a drop shot. And further more, they work in crystal clear waters, fished slowly- which imo it's the ultimate test.

Comments: When it comes to worm drop shot baits, this is the best out there. I stick to the simple colors like watermelon red, green pumpkin, and occasionally brown/purple. 100% would recommend and I will be purchasing more soon.
From: John: Pennsylvania 7/22/18
Comments: It was a much cooler morning and very low pressure behind an unusually strong front. Nothing at all was biting. I had tried everything in my bag. Finally, in desperation, I rigged a green pumpkin dream shot weightless. I let it sink to the bottom. If the line didn't jump before it hit bottom, I twitched it a couple of times and let it fall to the bottom again. These things sink really slowly and have amazing action doing so. Every cast yielded a bass. Most were small but the biggest (of 8) was about 3 pounds. A few days later there was another front that had moved through. I went straight to the weightless dream shot again. It was very windy (about 30 mph). The water was muddy so I used chartreuse this time. Same results. The bass hit it every time.

Comments: There are definitely some pros and cons to this bait but trust me it flat out catches some fish. I've caught a 7 in a neighborhood pond dropshotting with this and I've caught thousands of bluegill. A major con is the price and how easily the bluegill tear this bait up when you hook one. Usually rig it with a 1/0 Gama Dropshot hook and a 1/16 ounce VMC tungsten weight

Comments: Hands down the best drop shot bait I've ever used! Went to Clear Lake and I was using this bait and absolutely killed it. I was fishing with two other good fisherman that both swear by roboworms. They caught fish but oohing like the fish I was catching. The fall is amazing and the action in the tail is unmatched by any bait I've ever used. One of my parters refuses to fish anything with the name KVD on it but when he saw me catching fish he's never seen caught on a drop shot he went to the local tackle shop and immediately picked some up. Greatest drop shot bait I've ever used hands down.
From: Cameron: Stockton, CA 6/24/15
Comments: Strike king should rename this bait. Caught a 5 pound smallie on this first cast on drop shot. Caught several other three's and two's later on which is great for idaho. Hands down the best drop shot bait, if you think otherwise you are confused.
From: Tanner: Star, ID 5/26/15
Comments: Great drop shot rig for catching fish in slowly days or high pressured waters. But don't buy it for the durability, they last two good fish abd that's it. Sometimes even the rock bass rip the little tail off, so it's one bait out for zero fish sometimes, but I still buy many of these.
From: Thierry: Canada 4/10/15
Comments: Great drop shot bait. Not sure how others are rigging this with complaints but it sits horizontally and catches bass. Have won two tournaments using this exclusively this year. Boated 25 fish in 3 hours. Best colors have been KVD Magic and Pumpkin Sapphire. Durability has been fairly good for a plastic, especially in the 5".
From: Travis: MI 7/16/14
Comments: This bait holds true to its name "DREAM". By far the best drop shot bait I've ever used. Smallies kill these things and I've landed some nice large mouth too. Better than a robo worm in my opinion.
From: Blake: Charleston, WV 3/7/14
Comments: used this bait today, not the first time ever using it but its my first real time actually really workin with it and my god am I impressed! I was fishing with four pound mono and a sliding egg sinker as my drop shot weight because I left em at home. Anyways on my second cast at a spot that was just a joke I got bit by the biggest bass I have ever seen personally, but because I was using 4 pound it broke me off in the weeds with ease. EXTREMELY IMPRESSED
From: Andrew: Dana Point, CA
Comments: great bait. darts like a minnow and the tail paddles. Havent had much trouble with durability yet eitherFrom: Brendan: Gardern Illinois
Comments: Recently bought these in Chart Blue Glimmer Back at my local Dicks, the color looks great and was excited to try them on a drop shot. Unfortunately they don't sit horizontally, instead falling vertically on the drop shot and ultimately was a waste of money considering theres much better drop shot alternatives for a cheaper price. Will not buy these again and wouldn't recommend them to anyone looking for a drop shot lure. Stick to Roboworm and other floating worms/shads.
From: Mike: Fall River, MA
Comments: I don't understand how anybody can complain about these, they are great I have caught tons of LMB with them. Best colors are the KVD magic and the candy color. Roboworms suck compared to these in my opinion. Only drawback is durability, tend to not last long and panfish love to bite the tails off. Magnums are a little more durable though and work just as great!! Still my favorite drop shot bait period and I've tried almost everything.
From: Brandon: West Chicago,IL
Comments: The bad reviews talked me out of buying but later decided to try a pack. Other people may not like them but the smallmouth do!From: John: WA
Comments: One bait does not work everywhere all the time. But, I am catching nice LMB with the Dream Shot much of the time. Especially on the fall so be ready! From: Jim: Phoenix, AZ USA
Comments: good stuff. great action on the fall, you dont see it but the bass doesFrom: MV
Comments: Awesome drop shot bait. I caught 2 smallmouth back to back one went 2.5 and the other went 3.0lb's. Soft like roboworms, one fish and it's pretty much destroyed. Will definately be purchasing more of these in a variety of colors.
From: Jason: Winters, CA
Comments: This is an excellent bait. I was fishing with it in Northern Michigan, and out fished my buddies who were using roboworm by a lotFrom: Yang: San Diego, CA, US
Comments: I will stick to roboworm and reins for drop shotting, theres alot of hype about this bait, its ok but its not a roboworm or reins bubbling shakerFrom: Steve: Ventura, CA
Comments: IDK how all the other reviewers are rigging this. but it doesn't stand out horizontally on a drop shot, it sits vertically, which sucks in my opinion, if I'm drop shooting its because fishing is tough and I'm just letting it sit the rte, for that this bait will not work. Looks decent on the fall but a drop shot bait, IMO, should sit horizontally on the hook and have a great fall. Disappointed
Comments: Destroys Michigan Smallmouth, and holds up wellFrom: Dekota: MI
Comments: After drop shotting this bait for deep water smallmouth I believe strike king should take Berkeley's moto cuz they truly out fish live baitFrom: Brad: PA
Comments: i can't help but laugh out loud when i read some of you saying this is too expensive. are you kidding me. go dig some night crawlers in your yard. you bass fish and you are saying a pack of lures that cost less than 5 dollars is too expensive?
Comments: I have to agree here with a lot of others. Great marketing Strike King, but this bait is not even in the same league as the Robo products.
Comments: This bait is awesome and does catch fish. It may not be better then said product but it does what I need it to do and put fish in the boat. I read these comments and I am surprised half of you aren't women. $4.59 is not expensive price. Strike King doesn't copy cat other bait company's. If you complain about losing baits and it being expensive you shouldn't fish period.
From: Keith: East Coast
Comments: Actually Tyler, KVD and Zona took a Caffiene Shad and cut it to come up with this exact bait.. From: Steve: VA
Comments: I was surprised by the way some people slammed this product. Have been using it for the last two years, and you drop it in front of a Smallmouth, he eats it. That's all I care about. From: Scooter: Gladstone, MI
Comments: Not saying this is better then a robowarm or anything but it did just win an elite event in wisconsin and kevin wasnt the main one behind the design it just got added to his line of baits, Kvd didnt copy it and he didnt copy a square bill
From: Tyler: USA
Comments: Actually Mark Zona designed this baitFrom: Utah
Comments: I really like this bait and it works fairly well on largemouth. Personally though, I like Roboworm FX Sculpins. All around great bait though, good job KVD
Comments: No were near as good as Roboworms, Shaking Squirrel Worm, or a Kamakazee fidget! Save some money and buy the 3 that I mentioned. TW needs to start carrying the Kamakazee fidget again!!!From: Brian: Pittsburgh
Comments: dont waste your money , doesnt even come close to the roboworm, attraxx worm , or crosstail shad just another kevin van damm copy of another company like he did with the square bill. in the water the action well there really is none that i can see the tail does not quiver like the hype at icast. it really doesnt do much of anything on a dropshot rig .the plastic used is not the consistancy of the other products i mentioned and therefore you get no action out of the bait. strike king is a copycat company riding on the shoulders of kvd what a joke.
From: MI
Comments: Deadly on Smallmouth. That is all I can say.
From: Greg: Nova Scotia, Canada
Comments: Too expensive, like most of Strike King's plastic offerings. From: Dean: British Columbia, Canada
Comments: I was given this product before it was on the market and I am not impressed. Save your money and catch more fish by purchasing the roboworm sculpin FX 4inch. From: RD: Miffco
