The Strike King Rodent is a heavy cover fishing dream. Designed to make a major disturbance under the water, the Rodent searches out the big ones. The Rodents bubble tipped appendages and soft plastic tails have incredible action in the water. The Rodent is a great choice for heavy cover and works excellent on a Texas rig, Carolina Rig or as a Jig trailer. The new Rodent contains the world's best blend of soft plastic ingredients! This allows the use of large amounts of salt yet keeps the bait soft and pliable. The Coffee scent adds to the appeal as it masks human scents and oils contributing to added bites and longer hold times increasing hook-up percentages.

Comments: i was finally able to fish all three baits equally, SK Rodent scented really turns fish on to bite but no action or durability maybe two or three fish per bait, Sweet beaver has no scent or action but is very durable and also catches fish, D-bomb has lots of action and catches lots of fish and very durable ten or more fish per bait, i fish all three baits different times but D-bomb is king with action durability and 25 pack $12 verses 10 sweet beaver at $5 and SK Rodent is almost a dollar per bait must have gold flake in it, so you know which bait i will fish most, just one bass anglers opinion, i still need to try the most popular Berkley bait From: Christopher: Elizabethtown 9/4/20
Comments: I have always used texas rigged ribbon tail worms they always catch fish and I'm old fashioned but i found these baits in my local wal mart and said what the hell lets try it out and bought one pack , I took my worm off and put the rodent on the hook properly texas rig and I am still amazed at how the fish just keep coming and it's 98 degrees and water is high and clear so I used watermelon red flake needless to say I went straight back to wal mart and bought every pack they had , my first go to bait now is the 4" rodent I just wish they were more durable , to much salt makes them tear to easy , I'm ready to try some different colors now like maybe black blue flake

Comments: We get water up in the bushes this has been my best flippin/pitchin bait. Fish latch on and don't let go. Has really good action on the fall and has worked for me with many different size weights. Really good to punch thru the trash in backs of creeks and pockets. My favorite colors have become Blue Craw and Bama Bug. From: Coach: Shell Knob 11/1/19
Comments: Best flipping bait for when the water gets really hot. The coffee scent and action really do something to bass in 80 plus degree water. They're not very durable, but I wouldn't use them if the bite is good anyway.

Comments: I know I'm going to get backlash for this, but I prefer a Yum Wooly Hawg or a Sweet Beaver because of the added durability. As one of the other reviews said, I shook it loose for a rock after 10 minutes and then couldn't hide the point of my hook and because I fish lots of grass and moss, I couldn't stop having to pull of moss from the bait. They do make good jig trailers though because of the action of the "claws'. I'd give it a 6/10 because they are definitely proven fish catchers, but for people like me with a budget, you can't afford to have to rerig minutes and not be catching fish.
From: Grant: Paris, IL 10/10/18
Comments: Outstanding bait that can be fished alone or as jig trailer. Simply put this bait catches fish b/c it can imitate a crawfish or bream. So when you know bass are feeding on either of those two.....try it out.
From: Keith: Texas 5/10/17
Comments: Was using it flipping pads texas rigged with a 1/4oz weight, the plastic doesnt seem to hold up very well, after using it for about 10-15 minutes I couldnt hide the point of the hook under the plastic aka texspos any more it was so tore up.
From: Joe: Jacksonville, FL 3/3/17
Comments: Had a great day on them fishing a very pressured pond, with a 2 & a 3 on back to back casts! Not bad for the first time throwing these after sitting in my tackle stash for over two years, the fish are smart here in Jersey so these things are legit.
From: Jay: USA 5/7/15
Comments: Best flipping bait I have ever used. Works great punching mats and flipping docks and timber. Great on channel edges with stumps during pre-spawn. Double header candy is great in clearer water. I like okechobee craw in moderately stained water and blue bug or black with blue flake in dirty water. I get so many bites, the durability isn't a problem. One of my go to baits.
From: Michael: Mineola, TX 2/17/15
Comments: I am a beaver style bait fanatic and the KVD Rodent is by far the best choice. I don't know what it is with this bait but the action is intense and the strikes are continuous. My favorite color is Road Kill, I just bought up all they had here so I'm now ready for the spring.
From: Rocky: Weirton, WV 12/9/14
Comments: Best beaver on the market!! Close with sweet beaver but this comes on top because of the colors and how many PIGS i have caught using these baits. I fish these mainly for texas rigging and flipping. I've used black & red, black & blue, okeechobee craw, and summer craw. Great baits besides durability but i still buy a lot of em.
From: Matt: Louisiana
Comments: This bait is awesome. Bought 7 packs from fleet farm for 2 dollars each. The durability is not the greatest but the smell is great and it catches fish. From: David: Milwaukee
Comments: Might be one of the best flipping baits on the market. Just wish it was a little more durable, but I have caught giants on it flipping thick mats on 3/4 ounce weights. Have also thrown it on light weights for flipping laydowns and have done just as well. I prefer it for flipping though. Goes through cover exceptionally well.
From: Jack: Connecticut
Comments: The bait definitely catches fish. But it's too soft too use as extensively as other beavers. That softness helps catch fish but it tears more easily than a robo worm From: Justin: Mason, Ohio
Comments: I can't even tell you how many big fish I have caught on this creature bait this year! I have rigged it with a 3/16 oz weight and a 4/0 Trokar EWG hook (you will not loose fish with that hook- it's worth EVERY penny). That slow fall really triggers the fish around light shallow cover like reeds, lily pads, timber and docks. The only drawback is clearly the durability, but I will say despite that I still buy I ton of them because they are so worth the extra cost to replace them. As for colors, I've used green pumpkin, hard candy, Okeechobee craw, and watermelon red flake- they ALL work and can't wait to try out some more!
From: Tom: Ham Lake, MN
Comments: Great tournament bait, The fish really key in on the salt/coffee scent and hold on to it for a long while. Although the durability of these baits are not their strong point as they rip out the nose pretty easy. They consistently catch fish. In a pinch if the tear is not too bad a Bic lighter or arrow fletching glue will usually repair them for the next day till I can get some more. Would really like to see Strike King toughen up on the material though.
From: John: Louisville, KY
Comments: This bait is by far the best bait for flipping and pitching heavy cover. It smells so good make me want to eat. From: Michael: GA
Comments: great bait I've flipped a lot of creature baits but this one is the bomb yes they tear easy but defiantly worth it I've flipped nothing but this bait this year and I've caught more bass on it than any other bait and bigger fish on it then any other bait this bait has great action tht really Apeals to bass I would recommend this bait to anyone who likes to flip because It will hep u CATCH MORE BASS!!! My favorite colors this sumer was junebug, okeechobee craw, and candy craw
From: Sam: LA
Comments: i love these creature baits. very soft plastic that gives them great action, but, it also impeads their durability. even though they may not withstand alot, fish absolutly love them trust me. i live pegging a bullet weight on the nose of a owner flippin hook and rigging these things for some nasty trees. love this bait and fish do too!
From: Mat: OH
Comments: the coffee sent was a great idea, and really actually works, but the plastic used in these perfect plastic baits is so soft, and the put so much salt in them it impossible to get more than 1 fish per bait. This bait got my one 10 inch bass and the bait was done had to switch it out, the fluke type bait doesn't even last more than 3 or 4 cast because twitching it causes the hook to wear through the nose of the bait on soft twitches, and teh senko style bait good lord, can;t even put that one on a hook before it falls apart. The rage line are good and they hold up, but these im very disappointed in
Comments: GREAT bait!!! Love these things and have caught a ton of fish on them. Just wish they were a little more durable
From: Dustin: Eva, AL
Comments: This bait is ok. I caught a couple fish with them. But the least durable soft plastic ive used just hooking this thing once or twice would destroy it.
From: Jack: CA
Comments: great bait caught fish all depts good jig trailer
Comments: Great bait!!!!!!! helped me catch a 3.26 kg bass in the junior nationals and come second... would recommend it to anyone just buy a lot of them cause they tear easily..... but definitely worth it!!!!
From: Ben: Cape Town, Western Cape South Africa
Comments: Great bait but you'd be lucky to catch 10 bass a pack. Legs tear off after one jump but this is the bait to go to in a tournament.
From: Garrett, Canton, MI
Comments: Excellent lure, after seeing greg hackney use it first hand, i bought some to try. the rodent has been one of my go to baits sense then. it's hard to throw any other bait. like it's name, perfect plastic. awesome, can't wait for the smaller ones.
From: Kip: Harrisonburg, VA
Comments:Seems to be a softer body than a Sweet Beaver, size wise it's a little smaller profile as well. Plus with the coffee in it, it gives the fish a smell and taste that's different than anything else on the market. All in all this is quickly becoming a go to bait for me.
