Flat out catches fishwhen they want this thing you can get hit every cast. throw a size 0 duo lock on the front for easier walking. if you can't walk this bait, that's a skill issue. ewg trebles are a must. the only real complaint i have about this bait is that the hook rash sets in fast. I've been fishing this one lure enough that I think the rash will actually eat a hole in it soon.

River smallies crush itThe Jr. is a go to In late summer/ fall, the big smallies in my river crush it. It’s usually very simple…. Throw it along a current break, twitch it, dead drift, and twitch it again. BANG. The biggest fish seem to love that dead drift. The attraction is the splashdown and initial twitch/walk on the cast, the dead drift mesmerizes them, and that last twitch launches all the missiles. When that doesn’t work, this thing walks like a champ and covers water. Missed blowups are a simple matter of changing colors or slowing the walk, and maybe having a throw back bait ready after a miss. I’ve had big smallies bend out the stock hooks, so I swap them out with upsized Gamagatsu short shank EWGs. I also add a teardrop split ring to the nose, and it’s good to go. It you can’t walk this thing, it’s back to school for you. There is absolutely nothing wrong with how this bait walks. Its you.

1 of the better walking spooksThis Spook is pretty good in the water and walks amazing and is cheaper than those 6th sense spooks. However it doesn’t like that much of tip.

GarbageGarbage like most strike king lures they are focused on cranking out baits and colors they don’t put the time in to make these actually work, the dawg jr is trash I can’t speak on the size up cause I haven’t used mine yet, dawg jr doesn’t walk and when you get it to it just rolls over can barely cast it, I’d rather spend a few dollars more and grab a lucky craft or evergreen or even a spook.

Comments: I can't imagine anyone not being able to walk the Dawg Jr. From a choppy, spitting and dancing bait, to a slow, wide sweeping glide, or a dead sticked twitch, this thing does it all. I do switch out the trebles and hardware, because we know what big smallies can do, especially in current. Other than that, the color selection, price, and availability of the bait is fantastic, probably the best of all the walkers out there. And don't tell anyone, but a Dawg Jr. in The Shizzle is my secret weapon. It has accounted for several 22" class fish recently on the pressured river I fish, when otherwise you wouldn't even know there were fish that size in there. Something about it presses the right button, and they just try to absolutely brutalize it. I'd like to another smaller version added to the line-up, who knows, maybe it will happen.

Comments: IMO the best walking bait on the market. It is so easy to walk, it catches fish and it's affordable. I am telling you I have caught more bass on this bait than any other walking bait. I live in central NC. Falls Lake, Jordan Lake, Kerr Lake, it gets bit in all of these big bass lakes. My biggest is 8-3 in a little city reservoir in Durham. It really is a phenomenal bait. Give it a try.

From: Michael: NC 9/23/21

Comments: Great bait , walks super easy . My only complaint is the paint job doesn't last at all . They still get crushed when most of the paint is gone but very disappointed with how it held up

From: Patrick: Massachusetts 9/1/21

Comments: Between Sexy Dawg and Arashi Cover Pop i have topwater covered!!!   I go by the code of KISS when it comes to fishing, i keep as few a proven baits as possible and this bait flat out does everything a walking bait needs to do.  It became my GO TO when the topwater bite was on.  Got second in a tournament with it, Third another one, and on fun days it was outfishing Megabass, and other high-end baits costing 3 times as much.

From: Jamie - 2/12/19

Comments: These are one of the easiest walking baits you will ever use. I replace the weak #2 VMC trebles(stock) with #2 Mustad EWG triple grips. Sometimes I will use a feathered treble on the back, sometimes I don't, when I do, I use #2 Owners. Just a FYI, a feathered treble will affect the action of this bait so consider that if you put one on and don't get bit.

From: Jesse - West Virginia 8/16/18

Comments: Love this bait! Caught a 9 lber on a super pressured southern california resivior! Magical bait!

From: Gabe: San Diego, CA 6/11/18

Comments: This lure is amazing for topwater the spots destroy it. I've over a hundred fish on it and it is pretty beat up but still  produces

From: Davis: Lake Lanier GA 11/27/17

Comments: insanely good walking action on this bait. wish it had a feathered treble, but you can add that....fish really chase this thing down

From: Tyler - 6/27/17

Comments: This is only my 3rd time to ever write any review  but I was so disappointed in this new bait. From every thing I have seen and read, this was going to be "the " bait In my tackle box. Not even close. Many time when I casted Bait it would tangle in the front treble hook. It looked good
In presentation  but delivered no results. Wasted my day Fishing with this bait. Rating from 1 - 5 would  maybe be a 1.

From: Brian: Ithaca michigan 6/17/17

Comments: This lure is fantastic I have had fish hit this several times until they finally got hooked. My favorite color is clearwater minnow. Out preforms any topwater lure I have ever used.

From: Thad: Johnstown, PA 5/25/17

Comments: The only thing that would make this bait better is to put a feather on the trail hook...easy enough to modify yourself and worth it...but would be nice if it came that way...makes a world of difference for some reason.

From:Rick: Illinois 11/6/16

Comments: I'm fairly new to bass fishing & I decided to buy one of these in Bone. From the get go it was easy to walk & I loved the rattle. which is loud. I have a spro frog & two live target blue gills but the only top water bait I have caught a Large Mouth on is the KVD Sexy Dawg. I love throwing this thing & plan on buying a few more once I decide on what colors I'd like. Overall great bait!

From: Adam: AZ 8/21/16

Comments: I fish the sexy dawg jr. On a clear water lake with spotted bass and it's unbelievable how they come up in 30 ft. Water and explode on this bait. Stripers will hit it as well.

From: Donald: Hayden, AL 1/15/16

Comments: Took this to El Salto, almost as an afterthought. My guide tied it on, said "long cast, amigo." I did, and caught fish that whole day. Seven pounds (3), eight pounds (2), and lots of four fives and sixes. I dragged it through mesquite trees, water hyacinths, and lots of lure-eating cover. The hooks, the finish, everything held up well. Excellent bait.

From: Joe: Bellingham, WA 12/14/14

Comments: I am very picky with my lures and have used a lot of topwaters. cheaper ones to higher end topwater "walkers" but this SK KVD Sexy Dawg impressed me majorly.  So easy to walk and has an awesome swooshing action.  At times, I can even glide 2 or so feet each way. The action reminds me of the older Heddon Zara spooks, yet it's easier to walk.  This is straight up an impressive Walker, and had earned a spot in my go-to topwater tackle!

From: Erica: Central, WI 6/2/14

Comments: This is the easiest walking bait ive ever tried in my 10+ years of being a topwater lover. If your having trouble walking the dog, get this bait and just focus on light twitches of your rod tip followed by immediate slack every time.

From: Derrick: USA 4/28/14

Comments: I really like this bait.  Very easy to walk and casts really well.  I fish farm ponds a lot and really like the bluegill color. Bone and Sexy Blue Back Herring also seem to work well for me.

From: Michael: GA 3/13/14

Comments: Love this bait! I had two challenges for this bait and it still worked great! One, this was my first pencil style bait and i was kinda confused on how to use it, and two, i fish in a kayak so i really can't get in a good position to walk it. SUPER easy to walk (even in a kayak) and the rattles are a great addition!

From: Chris: Oklahoma City, OK

Comments: I'm with Richard, how can people not walk this thing? I recently picked up the Dawg Jr. in Sexy Shad specifically to fish cold-water Smallmouth in Northern Wisconsin. Fished 3 mornings in a row with below 40 degree air temps and absolutely smoked BIG Smallmouth. Multiple fish 4+ each day. What I love is how you can vary the cadence with extreme ease. You can slow it way down and it sweeps wide side-to-side or speed it up for a nice tight walking action. Extremely versatile and super easy to work. I was fishing it with a 13 Fishing Omen 7'6 MH on 50 lb Sufix Braid for reference. Will be picking up more very soon!

From: Ryan: Minneapolis, MN

Comments: I'm not exactly sure how the below people are having trouble walking this bait. I'm running a MHM action and braid. The Jr. walks better than any other walk-the-dog type lure I have. It's very easy to switch up between wide and narrow walks. I recommend this bait when teaching people or when they want to learn themselves. The hooks on these baits are not the normal SK hooks. They are much stronger and sharper. Paint was great. I've been banging the Sexy Ghost Minnow off some rocks and trees, and its held up well. I will be purchasing more of these soon.

From: Richard: Edmond, OK

Comments: I was vacationing in Myrtle Beach and was fishing a lake that I did not know had big bass.  It was a rainy august afternoon so I decided topwater was my best bet.  I threw the Jr version in the bone color.  I was walking it by an island with some hydrilla and bam, a 21 inch 6lb monster.  I like the little version of this lure because it walks very easy and casts far.  The rattle is also an added bonus.

From: Ethan: Charlottesville,VA

Comments: If you order the bone it does not have the orange belly like it shows in the picture..

From: Stephen: Belmont MS

Comments: Won a club event last fall on the Ghost Minnow after owning it ony a couple weeks... if you do not over pull and use very short rhythmic jerks it does wonders...(some have an issue because they have not adapted to the bait..I had it easy because topwater for 30+ years has been my thing.) Its on 1 of my 3 topwater rods 8 months a year here in central, La....so try it (after upgrading the hooks some).

From: Doug: Vidalia, La. USA

Comments: Extremely easy to walk. Performs just as good as the spook. Actually easier to walk than the spook. Strike king PLEASE come out with a one knocker version of this bait.

From: Jeff: Rensselaer IN

Comments: This is one of the best topwater lures I have ever used. Every time I go fishing with it I always catch fish. It is my favorite way to fish. It walks very easily. My favorite color is clear sexy shad.

Comments: jackharius if you can't walk this bait then there isn't a walking topwater that you can walk. so easy a monkey could do it

From: Joe: Mcveytown, PA

Comments: I can walk a corn cob better than i can this bait.  Not impressed at all.  ill stick to my gunfish.  love your baits SK but this one aint cuttin it.

From: Jackharius

Comments: Great GREAT Lure! caught two 4 lbers back to back on my first two cast. amazing lure! got the sexy ghost minnow jr. my new go to topwater bait! worth the money!

From: Cali, GA

Comments: Fished a Ghost Minnow Dawg Jr this weekend. I liked the casting distance, walking the dog with it was quite easy. Some walking baits you have to work with a little to get them to walk. This one works just like the spook. Caught several fish on it! Another great SK bait.

From: Tyler: East Coast

Comments: This is a very good bait, at least right now the Smallies are smashing the Jr. on the Rivers around here, the Largemouths are reallly hitting it on the Lakes, great bait, Bluegill seems to work the best around here, Its is Easy to walk the dawg and i personally like it more than the sammy

From: Shawn: MI

Comments: Dont let this bait fool you. Its decent for the price but its no sammy. If you want the best top water lure look at the sammy. The Jr dawg is worse at walking then the dawg

From: Kevin: MD

Comments: I just got a dawg jr and it looks it will be an awesome topwater lure in the summer. This lure has a super loud rattle and awesome paint jobs. Can't wait to use it this summer for big smallies!!!

From: Kyle: MI

Comments: just got mines today, it has 3 clear ball rattles in the head and two round rattles in the back. the jr isnt 3.5 its basicly 4inches. but over all, GREAT lure

From: Bassin: Midwest MN

Comments: This baits looks decent. I am glad SK offers a Bluegill pattern along with the typical number (way too many) of Sexy Shad variations. Strike King needs to expand its color offerings IMHO. A bit of an aside, what happened to the Spro Dawg 100? Bring it back TW please!!!!
