Overview
In fishing, line choice can make the difference between going home skunked and cashing a check. This is especially true when using a leader or topshot. Which is why Sunline has developed the Sunline FC Fluorocarbon Leader, a 100% fluorocarbon line made for all of your leader and topshot needs. Built using Sunline’s E3 raw materials, the Sunline FC Fluorocarbon Leader provides the perfect balance of tensile strength, knot strength, and stretch. The Sunline FC Fluorocabon Leader is also made with a Triple Resin Processing that gives it enhanced knot strength and increased abrasion resistance. A perfect match for Sunline's SX1 Braid, the Sunline Fluorocarbon Leader has a low water absorption for negligible strength loss under water. For the leader in leaders and a top-notch topshot, look no further then Sunline FC Fluorcarbon Leader.

Comments: For years I've fished braid to 12lb copoly leader for everything except power fishing. When I realized that this product in 16# has the same diameter as my 12# copoly with some stretch I had to try it. It has worked well for me so far. Abrasion resistance is above average, and I've had no problems with knots. I use an 8/5 improved Alberto and a 6 turn san Diego.

Comments: Got a spool of 6 lb from a friend and used it all summer for dropshotting. This line holds up extremely well with use, you just need to tie a strong knot to keep it from slipping. The abrasion resistance is amazing, I caught a 9 pounder on a dropshot that wrapped me around a couple dock pilings and my line wasn't even frayed when I checked it after landing the fish.

Comments: It's ok. I bought a 50yd spool of 6lb to give it a try. I primarily use it for drop shot applications. I've had multiple cases where this leader failed at the knot upon setting the hook. These incidents are few and far between, but I have had better luck with FC Sniper. Sniper is also much cheaper per yard.

Comments: Used it all season and I cannot say it holds the true Sunline standard. Back to big spools of Sniper.

Comments: Thought I give it try, however from my experience leaders got broke off, does not seem to hold up and way too stiff. Just use your regular FC sniper line for leaders and reap the full benefits.

Comments: I ordered this line because it was price seemingly fair and usually I never have any issues with Sunline. When I got it and tied my FG knot it seemed fine and even while fishing it was fine until I saw a bed fish. I flipped my Texas rig on the bed and the 3 pound female ate immediately. I set the hook and bam, 20 pound flouro snapped like 2 pound. It didn't break at my palamar knot or my FG knot, just a clean break not due to any fray or anything. I tied up another Texas rig and found another 3 pounder on a bed. I flipped my Texas rig at it and it ate then, bam, snapped another 3 pounder off on a hooks with 20 pound flouro. I have never broken off a fish in my life because of anything other than a knot failure or fray in the line. Do not buy this garbage!

Comments: I recently bought several spools to fish a Costa event with. I am a big fan of Sunline, however this line does not make the cut. For Pros: very strong, thin line, good abrasion resistance, extremely hard. Cons: too hard, difficult make good connections with. The hardness makes the line turn brittle on any connection knot that you double the line over on (I tie a modified Albright). If purchasing, try a FG knot.

Comments: Only leader I use. I tie 8lb leader to 10lb braid for finesse. Very strong and abrasion resistant. I use a double uni knot.

Comments: Line diameter is a little on the larger side. But excellent leader line nonetheless. Great abrasion resistance & super strong. Used a alberto knot to main line.
