Sunline proudly introduces the newest edition of Shooter Fluorocarbon. Built in an effort to create a line that's useful in all applications, the Sunline Shooter Fluorocarbon is now available in an even wider range of sizes. The difficulty in creating a fishing line that’s exactly the same across a broad range of sizes is consistency. In response to this challenge, Sunline made three precisely formulated versions of the Shooter Fluorocarbon, each one tailored to techniques associated with its range of sizes - Finesse Special, Marionette Special and the Power Special. All three fishing lines retain the characteristics that have made Sunline Shooter Fluorocarbon so popular: little-to-no memory, low underwater visibility, and an amazing castability. In addition to these key features, each version has been enhanced with attributes that improve performance in their specific tests and line diameters. From the lightest finesse techniques to the toughest power applications, Sunline Shooter Fluorocarbon has you covered.
Finesse Special (7-9lbs): With an extra 3% of stretch and a special abrasion-resistant coating, the Finesse Special gives anglers peace of mind when handling a bigger fish. Built with incredible knot strength, the Finesse Special delivers an enhanced sensitivity and the ability to detect the faintest of bites. A small line with a big bite, the Sunline Shooter Fluorocarbon Finesse Special is perfect for finesse applications like dropshotting.
Marionette Special (10-20lbs): Same formula as the original Sunline Shooter Fluorocarbon, the Marionette Special offers anglers a well-rounded line for a variety of applications. Perfect for fishing a jig or smaller swimbaits, the Marionette Special offers incredible knot strength, as well as, an amazing straight strength. The ultimate combination of sensitivity and abrasion resistance, the Marionette Special will get the job done in a variety of conditions.
Power Special (22-30lbs): A small increase in stretch gives the Power Special more shock absorbency when flipping or throwing big swimbaits. Built with beefed up abrasion resistance and an unmatched durability, the Power Special is perfect for horsing big ones out of timber and heavy cover.
Comments: Awesome line. I live up north and most of our waters are clear to very clear, so I use the #20 & 25 as a leader when working lay downs, docks, and grass. I landed a 17lb Northern on the #20 while pitching a 1oz jig to Largies on a deep weedline last summer. She tore-up the leader pretty good, but she came in the boat ~

Comments: I use the 7lb in finesse absolutely incredibly as a mainline or leader. Sensitive Strong and holds knots very well. I've had no issues.

Comments: Used 18 and 22lb and unfortunately i didn't like it. Very good sensitivity but abrasion resistance with the 22lb was really quite poor. Found myself afraid to set the hook properly skippin docks with a jig when i knew my line was over some metal. Broke off a few times when i feel i shouldnt or wouldnt have with a different brand. The 22 lb also exploded randomly on a hookset fishin a weedless swimbait. Pline and gamma are far superior lines in my opinion, I would not use this line ever again especially not in a tournament situation. Blows my mind how many pros use it, even as a substitute for braid a lot of times. Maybe i got a bad batch?

Comments: I've been using the 30lb. version of this line for over a year now throwing very large swimbaits like DEPS 250's, Hinkle Trouts, etc. This is by far the best line that I've used for these kinds of lures. Have NOT snapped off any lures using this line. My son recently put a brand new spool of Seaguar Abrazx 25lb. line on his Diawa 300HD to throw his favorite lure, a DEPS 250 (bass color). He said he made his usual side sweeping style of a cast, always being very careful never to do a snap cast like we all do with our typical 1/2 lures, etc. Not 10 minutes into fishing, the line snapped and he watched his much beloved and costly DEPS 250 fly off never to be seen again. It broke his heart. I told him from now on that he is going to be using the Sunline 30lb. line for throwing the large swimbaits, he agreed. I just wish the 30lb.version of this line came in much larger spools. It is on the expensive side but I look at it as insurance for my very expensive lures and for my peace of mind. This line flat out performs.

Comments: I have used this line a number of times and I found this line has a bad, bad memory. After some use, it start to give casting problems. For this pricey line I would expect more. Sniper is a better line and less pricey.

Comments: I bought the 16lb Marionette version (extra stiff and durable). If you prefer braid but want to try Fluoro for line shy fish or better slack line / windy condition sensitivity, then this is your braid. It is extremely sensitive, very low stretch (for a non-braid) & knots very well (use lots of spit). It however is not very manageable and should not be used on spinning gear IMO. With a bait caster throwing bigger baits via overhead casts is fine, but any sloppy pitches or hard casts into the wind are likely to blow up pretty good. Try Sniper if manageability is your preference.

Comments: Only have experience with mainly the 22lb Shooter. Use it for pitching plastics and jig's to pads, slop, wood, and deeper weed. The line has great feel and jumps when fish hit on slack line falling presentations. No breaks offs with bass Pike seem to be able to slice it easily. Overall very happy with the line. Requires some KVD conditioner daily to keep it settled down.

Comments: This line is superb. Been using it for about 6 months now & have had no problems. It has little to no stretch, extreme sensitivity, pretty good knot strength, and excellent abrasion resistance. The only complaint I have is the price, they really screw you over here. 164 yards for $40 or 660 yards for $100!

Comments: was not pleased with this. At first it was ok, but after a bit it started to get milky on me. You need to condition this line a lot, mine was taking on memory kind of quickly. I prefer Seaguar to Sunline, that's just me.
From: Mystery Man: Vineland, NJ 10/6/15
Comments: I pulled up an 8 pounder that was wrapped up in some drift wood on 12 lb shooter without the line breaking. Strong, smooth, sensitive, and expensive as hell.
From: Taylor: Raleigh, NC 4/27/15
Comments: Casts well and has low memory but the strength is not great. Tried to swing two different 2-3 pounders in the boat this weekend and had the 12lb line snap both times. Never had that trouble before with other fluoro brands.

Comments: Best Flourocarbon line I have used so far. I haven't tried Seaguar Tatsu but of the lines I have used this is far and away the best flouro. Seaguar red label is the best cheap flouro but if you're spending $25+ sunline shooter is the way to go.

Comments: I have bought some 14lb line 3 days ago. Super sensitive, super strong, cast like butter, little stretch, glow through the water with ease. First time I took it out caught a few decent bass. While using my jerkbait I hooked up to a 20+ pound carp. Handle it well. I didn't worried about the line breaking or rod breaking. The day after I foul hook another 20+ pound carp. No problem when bringing in that carp. Pricy but well worth it.
