From the coast of California to the Swamps of Florida, the Teckel USA Honker Frog features a classic design that has been proven to put Donkeys in the boat. Created by Japanese lure maker and tournament angler, Hideki Maeda, the Teckel USA Honker Frog was designed using a classic amphibian shape and action that anglers and bass still can't stop thinking about.
The Teckel USA Honker Frog features two metal feet attached at the rear of the bait using premium ball bearings. These metal feet generate a unique waking effect that is sure to grab the attention of bass lurking beneath the vegetation. Additionally, the Teckel USA Honker Frog also features a built-in weight that makes casting a breeze, and ensures that it won’t land upside-down. The combination of a razor-sharp Gamakatsu double frog hook and an extremely collapsible body gives the Teckel USA Honker Frog a strong strike-to-hookup ratio.
Comments: The frog looks good and the fish hit it like it made them mad I mean the strikes are just violent but the hook are to low and tight to the body of the frog every time I set the hook on a bass the hooks bury into the body of the frog. I love the shape and so do the fish but the hooks need to be rethought.

Comments: The frog gets bit. But the hooks are horrible. Body style of the frog sculpture is nice design. But the Hooks are not design for this body style at all. They will need to be a custom hook for this style frog to make this lure much more effective which they do not have on the market. The swivel broke off one of the metal clappers when I hook a tiny northern. Only went threw 1 fish. The rest were bass which I missed all of them on. I was looking for frogs so was here already so I mind as will do a quick review. Sorry Teckel this just my honest review. Improve on the hook maybe size up or make the frog softer. These rubber so dang tuff make it softer to make up for the poor hook up ratio. From: Mango: Wisconsin 6/18/20
Comments: Teckle has the best designs, and the worst hooks there are. Throw any Teckle frog and it will get smashed all day, with the lowest hookup ratio of your life. The blades are a great alternative, and make a ton of noise which is why I bought these in almost every color. Now I just take the blades out and put them into Spro and Booyah frogs and its an absolute killer

Comments: Awesome frog. Doesn't take on water. Feet spin and clank together on a steady retreive or u can throw it in the thick stuff, frog excels at every aspect. Highly recommend

Comments: Awesome frog. The feet clank and clack on a straight retreive wile twirling and spinning. Makes a sound like no other. I like to twitch it a couple times and pause. Not the best for super heavy cover but it does work. Better for more open sparse cover. Takes on no water. Highly recommend.

Comments: Awesome frog. Like others have stated, some of the frogs don't sit proper between the hooks, however i haven't noticed it effecting the hook up ratio. The metal feet spin and clack together. No water intake. Floats great. Highly recommend

Comments: This frog locates bass like no other. Unfortunately that is all it does. The hookup ratio is horrendous. Have a follow up baits handy because while they swipe at this baits they never actually get it, possibly due to the paddle. Those same bass are landed on a Lunkerhunt Prop frog.

Comments: So after having the Sprinker which is a great frog, a friend of mine turned me onto this one. I will tell you, this is by far the absolute best frog on the market hands down! If I had to choose only one frog to fish it would be this one!
From: Carl: Detroit, MI 8/16/17
Comments: Fantastic frog! This out fishes normal frogs for me by a long shot. It's like a toad that you can pause or fish slowly and in the thickest cover. Very good hook up rate too. If I miss a fish it's usually because the bass completely missed the bait. After a good 50+ fish on it there are only a few minor scratches on the paint, no tears, never sinks, I love it! Can't wait to get my hand on the Sprinker too when it's back in stock. Teckel has the frog thing figured out.

Comments: Went out this evening with a slight chop on the water and sprinkling. Nothing I used would work butBarometric pressure was free falling. I should've been slamming fish! I grabbed this frog out in bone color never having used it before. I got about 7 blow ups! Unfortunately I didn't hook any fish. Switched to the black color. More blow ups. No hook ups. The legs in this frog make an unbelievable clacking sound drawing in fish. I've never seen any other lure like it. The concept is amazing! The frog sits low in the water, walks well and is extremely weedless. However I'm forced to believe the hook up ratio (possibly because of the blades) is horrible. I'll try bending the hooks out, and give an update soon...

Comments: This lure is highly effective. I have gotten bass & tiger musky, there is a great deal of action created on the surface of the water. However; the body often needs to be adjusted as it doesn't sit right within the weedless hooks and you will likely miss a lot of fish. Overall, a great lure with a couple drawbacks, one of the most effective weedless frogs available. Colors also aren't very good. The bluegill color is best, but not currently available for some reason.

Comments: This frog is sick! When you real it in slow the metal legs bang against each other & make it look like bait fish flipping on top. The sound the and flash the blades make are completely unique to anything I've seen. My local lake is known for its frog fishing and I've had a lot of blow ups on this thing. Whether the fish want bait fish, blue gill, or frogs this covers the board. Really excited to see what it does for me this year!

Comments: I really have to take back the things I said about this frog. It has stopped sinking. It has a great hookup ratio & I haven't tuned it. The other day I caught 6 fish on the black with yellow head. No misses. Try it you will like it.
From: Beau: NE 5/21/16
Comments: Incredibly versatile & effective. Great consistency between each bait. To my surprise it does not take in water as easy as the first glance would suggest. Most importantly, it gets choked without hesitation.
From: Drew: Australia 5/13/16
Comments: I've jumped between multiple frogs but this one consistently gets a blow up & for whatever reason, it has a great hookup ratio as well. It does not tear/sink even after 20+ bass, good price, attracts bass even under windy condition. what else can you ask for? I just wish Teckel makes a popper frog. This frog is so good that I can't find a reason to pick up the Whacker Frog.

Comments: These frogs work great on the water. Never had to squeeze water out of any of them. From: T-Funk: DC
Comments: Don't be fooled by the awesome colors and presentation! These sink in about 3 seconds! Both of them I got sank! That sucks cause I was really pumped to use it! From: Beau: Panhandle, NE
