Comments: I've been using Top Knot of over a year now and will not change. Smooth casting, great knot strength, low memory and excellent abrasion resistance. It is well worth the money. As a tournament angler it gives me one less thing to worry about, try it you'll like.
From: Pat: The Colony 7/28/22
Comments: I used this line with a Daiwa Steez baitcast reel and after three casts, I was reeling in a slinky. It's the worst flouro I've tried. Save your money and buy Sunline FC Sniper or any other brand for that matter.
From: Don: Dover, NH 7/13/22
Comments: I'm a big fan of this fluoro line and have been for several years now. Sure, it's not as smooth or as manageable as lines twice as expensive as Top Knot, but it is strong, abrasion resistant and knot strength is very solid. I fish on a budget and have switched to Top Knot from Seaguar Inviz-X and Abraz-X and I really haven't been able to tell much of a difference. The performance of Top Knot Compared to those lines has been very favorable and I'd recommend Top Knot to anyone.
From: Jim: Kentucky 7/7/22
Comments: Hard to break and casts a Mile and also very good price what is there not to love !!
From: Austin: New York 3/17/22
Comments: I decided to try this line as I've been using pline copolymers. It's worked good for leaders in 10 lb and the 14 lb on 3 bait casters has been fine. No over runs, no break offs from weak knots, pretty amazing since I've always heard what a bear 100% fluro is. It's definitely more sensitive and thinner. I've sprayed it with KVD line conditioner regularly so I don't know if it helps or not. It doesn't seem to cast as far as the pline stuff. I had to pretty much back off all the reels all the way to get a decent cast. I don't know if that's the line or the conditioner. Either way, it still casts far enough for what I'm doing with it. I'd recommend it at this price as I've had no issues with it other than casting distance. I bought some more.
From: John: GA 2/5/22
Comments: Fluoro is fluoro, a lot of people don't understand that it can take some time to get used to. If you're debating between Red Label and this stuff, get this stuff. Only a couple bucks more and way worth it. I'd say its good for newcomers since it's still relatively cheap. And its got a bit of stiffness being a true fluoro so if you can learn on that other lines will be a breeze. Overall definitely purchasing more, use the 12lb to crank with. From: Caige: New York City, New York 4/27/21
Comments: Bought 16lb to try. I tried to like it. It's stiff, has memory and kinks. It has a tendency to bird's-nest more than other lines. Then after 2 very small fish on a texas rig, the 3rd bite broke on hookset at the knot. Knot was a san diego jam and was wetted before cinching. No bueno.
From: Craig: IL 4/11/21
Comments: After trying all the flouros including extremely high priced ones, I tried The Top Knot as a test. I was first interested when I read reviews and saw people complaining about Top Knots memory. That was a good sign. Means it's true flouro without a ton of conditioners to make it limp and in-turn weaker. This is a small diameter very strong, very abrasion resistant line. For casting reels or spinning leaders this is a top value line. Don't try to spool a whole spinning reel with it.
From: Tim: Milford, Ohio 4/2/21
Comments: I have a great experience with this line it is tough and very strong I have used most of the sizes for different applications, I would recommend trying it and the price is right! From: James J: Coweta, OK 2/1/21
Comments: TOUGH AS NAILS! Of course it has some memory, it's fluorocarbon. If you like a TRUE fluoro, you will love this line!
From: Mason: Beaumont 11/5/20
Comments: I use this as a long leader (15 ft to 25 ft) to braid on my baitcasters with an FG knot and its as good of line as you can buy. It does seem to have a lot of memory so my guess is that it would not be the best choice for a main line. I live in the Pacific Northwest and our lakes are clear and rocky, so you need to change leader material almost every time you go out just based on how abrasive the fishing conditions are, for those who say this line has poor break strength my guess is that youve kinked the line or weakened it in some way because I find it as strong as anything on the market.
From: Rob - Idaho 11/1/20
Comments: This line is tough, very abrasion resistant, great knot strength. I use it for leaders and on baitcasting for main line. I am very, very happy with the results. Look at the diameter per pound text of this line then compare to most other flouros. Top Knot is a real winner. And trust me I've tried em all. Top Knot is a stiff line, you're going to have memory. I'll take those trade offs anytime vs breaking fish off. If you want small diameter and lots of strength this is your line. Get use to it before you try to make a mile long casts and you'll be fine.
From: Tim: Milford, OH 8/27/20
Comments: All the bad reviews, well here goes: you buy cheap line, you get cheap results. Heres the thing... this is 100% fluoro, No conditioner, no additives, it's not buffed like invisX, nothing like that. It's straight fluoro. it's going to have a memory and kinks etc. Your high end seaguars and sunlines and P-line are not always 100% fluoro, and if they are they have been run through buffers to smooth it out, conditioned etc. If you want soft, supple line, you're going to pay double the price for it. You are expecting Ferrari performance at Ford prices... what did you think was going to happen? From: Dave: Kentucky 8/5/20
Comments: wow 10 pound is killing it for leader line !!! and the price is amazing ive tried so many lines this is up there with the very expensive stuff.
From: Austin : New York 7/24/20
Comments: Well I bought this line in 12 and 20 lb test. I have used the 12 lb for chatterbaits and squarebills with no problems. The 20 lb on the other hand was a complete waste of money I threw the whole spool away. While attempting to spill the line onto my reel I felt nicks in the line and terrible coils. From: Ryan: Bloomsburg, PA 3/27/20
Comments: Bought some of the line at acadamy since it was on sale. I love there baits and wanted to give the line a test. Smooth casting and very strong. From: Chris: Owasso 1/31/20
Comments: This stuff is good. It fishes good, I've been setting the hook hard the last couple weeks testing it out, not one break. A couple of sprays of Line conditioner the night before and this stuff is smooth as can be.From: Stephen: California 1/5/20
Comments: I used 8lb flouro as a leader on 15lb powerpro and had no issues breaking off etc. The line is very strong and I trusted it landing some nice fish in my tourneys this year. The key is to set your drag right in general to avoid breakoffs etc
From: Adam: Harrisburg, NC 12/27/19
Comments: I own this line in 12, 16, and 20 pound tests. While it does have bad memory, it doesn't matter to me as I use it for leaders. It has great knot and tensile strength. If you need fluorocarbon for leaders, this stuff can't be beat in value! From: Mike: Orlando, FL 12/23/19
Comments: I tried the Top Knot 20lb and 12lb line. How would I describe this line? Does anyone remember the wire toy "Slinky" ? That is what it reminds me of. Coils and backlashes were the norm. No amount of KVD line conditioner has any effect on it! Needless to say, I won't be buying anymore of this line and I like Yo-Zuri products overall! From: William G: Germantown, TN 12/9/19
Comments: Worst flouro I have ever used. I bought this on a whim and put it on my new Curado. I have never backlashed so much since I started using a baitcaster years ago. I have not seen a line with worse memory yet, super stiff and kinky. I cut it off my reel mid day and the entire thing is going in the trash. From: Josh, Campbellsville, KY 7/25/19
Comments: Poor Quality Line- I bought a 1,000 yard spool and was planning on filling several baitcast reels with it. I got about half way into filling the first reel when I felt a rough spot on the line. It felt like about a 1/4 inch section was extremely frayed. I put minimal pressure (probably less than 5 lbs) on it and the line snapped. The problem repeated itself with several other reels. It looks like Yozuri is splicing their line during the manufacturing process and it has a very weak breaking point in that splice area. I would not recommend this line as I will never purchase it again. Go with P-Line or Seaguar. From: Donal: 7/2/19
Comments: Bought 2 spools of this line to try it out because of the price, 16lb and 20lb. Broke the 16 three times in one day all on hooksets, and I check my line for frays constantly and retie often. Later that day was sight fishing a 4lber on bed, worked her for 30 minutes and broke the 20lb on the hookset, and watched the fish swim around the bed with my bait hanging on the outside of its mouth. Threw what I had left in the garbage. I did catch some fish on this line that day, but it breaks far too often for me to use and will cost you in a tournament. Spend a little more and get a good fluorocarbon that won't randomly break so easily.
From: Colby: Florida 5/14/19
Comments: I think alot of the people below comment on the memory. Purely flourocarbon 100% have bad memories. You you go higher end the formulation changes to have more additives into the line to reduce memories. Overall this line do what it do as a flourocarbon line. People just want a 12$ flourocarbon line to work like a 30$ flourocarbon. Not gonna happen cheap people.
From: Backlaster 1/15/19
Comments: Have heard a lot of negativity about this line , however I catch a lot of big bass and this line gives me no issues doing so! Seagaur is my only alternative when I can't find Yo-Zuri fluorocarbon! Super smooth casting for me I absolutely love it
From: Unknown - 1/6/19
Comments: I got 2 Free Spools of the Top Knot Mainline Fluoro on a special offer when purchasing a few Topwater plugs. I will never buy this line and was glad when I discovered the horrible memory kink that I hadn't paid for it. I was very disappointed in this product.
From: JJ 10/31/18
Comments: I bought this on a whim because I needed to respool in a hurry and it was all that was available at the moment. I've got to say I was very impressed with this line for the money. I have now resplooled almost every reel and continue to do so. I didn't have the line memory issues some were talking about. It's got very low stretch and is very abrasion resistant. Best bang for the buck for sure..
From: Dave M: Georgetown,TX 10/26/18
Comments: Good Line. I don't know what the others are talking about with the memory because I've had no issues whatsoever. That being said, I've always used Reel Magic as I'm spooling line as well as before and after each outing. I hit the spool pretty well initially but only use a spray or two before and after fishing. I was skeptical about trying it out because I've always used higher-end fluoros but I'm pleasantly surprised with how it's performed. I can actually say that I've not broken-off a single time and I've broken Sunline, P-Line, Bass Pro, and even Seaguar here and there... With the price, it's hard to beat. I've been using 16lb for squarebills and lipless baits with great success. I've even landed fish that frayed the line badly. I've also used the 8lb as a leader to 15lb braid without any malfunctions. Spool it properly, use conditioner, re-spool if you fish more than a couple times a week, and most importantly, tie a proper knot for fluoro and re-tie every few fish. I switched to the Miller Knot a few years back and I can count on one hand how many fish I've broken-off, regardless of brand.
From: Kyle - Illinois 9/25/18
Comments: I bought this not paying attention to the label, so I bought main line when what I wanted was leader. At any rate...I purchased a 10lb roll for snapper fishing just to try it out. I was quite happy with how it held up in the mangroves on a variety of fish and the lighter line in shallow water was great for stealth. So I went back to my local retailer and purchased a 14lb roll for some light tackle inshore fishing. Long story short, I landed my PB slot Snook in the mangroves on this line. I've lost smaller snook on 20-25lb flouro under the same conditions. The line was frayed and scraped up pretty good but held on long enough to bring a 17lb 32" bruiser to hand. I'd definitely recommend this line for what ever you're doing in or off shore.
From: Charlie: Miami, Fl 9/2/18
Comments: This lines been doing good, I don't see why people don't like it, your not a pro bass angler? Your just a daily go whenever you got time. Me I think it's a budget fluro that many people can buy. I've tried sunline, great but just don't like how they spool the line and how it get weak after a few sessions in the rocks. Bought sunline 14lb for leader and most of my fish broke off! Never again SUNLINE
From: Unknown 8/30/18
Comments: Agree with Brandon. Worse memory I have ever seen. Does not cast well at all. I'm glad that I bought it on sale. That eases the pain of throwing my my money away!
From: William: TN 8/10/18
Comments: This stuff is garbage its so twisted up when u spool ur reel it will already have bad line twists and the first fish i try setting the hook on my line snapped inside the reel..(from the twist) from about 3 lbs of force and it was 16lb line i put the rod in car and wen i got home i took line and put it in garbage where it belongs
From: Cody: San Antonio 7/28/18
Comments: One of the best lines on the market for the price. Good abrasion resistance and has very little memory compared to other fluorocarbon lines in the same price range. Have used 16lb on my jig rod and 20lb on my swimbait rod for about 6 months, and have not had a single problem so far. Would recommend to anybody looking for a good cheap line.
From: Nathaniel: Wise, Va 7/25/18
Comments: Bought a 16 lb to try so far no memory issues, low stretch and seems to be abrasion resistant using it on big football jigs, and worms ties good knots and like the price. Going to get some other tests to try.
From: Brad: Tennessee 7/11/18
Comments: The reviews for this line are so mixed. So I'll put it this way. If you're looking for fluoro on a budget I'd encourage you to give it a try. I've been pleasantly surprised. It's strong, low stretch, and super abrasion resistant. It does have some memory issues, but I think it's silly for people to compare a $12 line to a $30 line. It's just not apples to apples. Overall 3 out of 5 stars. But compared to other fluorocarbons at this price point 5 out of 5.
From: Carter: Rochester, IN 5/9/18
Comments: I used this with 16 and 8lbs for my mainline...both had terrible memory problems. I normally go with KastKing fluoro 8lbs and the difference is night and day. Really wanted to like it :(
From: Sam: Mountain View, CA 10/1/17
Comments: I've been using this line in 8, 10, 12, and 14 since it first appeared on TW. I think it's great! It's the only flouro I buy now. Strong knots, no problem with abrasion, and while it's a little stiffer than some of the "premium" lines, it's more than manageable and I've had no problems with it on the spool. The price is rediculously good for the performance!
From: Rick: USA 6/30/17
Comments: Love the other Yo-Zuri lines but this one was terrible. Bought 10lb and used as a braid leader and broke off 3 times with little use. Disappointed.
From: Aaron: Cincinnati 5/27/17
Comments: Yo Zuri top knot is a great fluorocarbon line it has little memory and small diameter great line for the money
From: Wes - Georgia 3/9/17
Comments: Memory is bad even with several uses of kvd spray. this line frays very easily , even a bobber stopper frays it.. the pros are it's invisible in the water , shock absorption is good and it is low stretch...just don't compare it to invisix or sunline sniper. I think even vanish is better than this top knot.
From: John: Lakeland, FL 2/8/17
From: Dan: Tampa, Florida 2/3/17
Comments: This stuff is legit. I have absolutely no trouble casting this line and I have yet to break off a fish. The strength is unbelievable, I'm comfortable using this stuff in and around heavy cover when I'm not pitching creature baits with heavy braid.
From: Justin - FL 2/2/17
Comments: This line is really good for the price I bought the 12 pound for deep cranking anf have not had any problem yet.
From: Wes: Georgia 1/9/17
Comments: Guys, save your money. I decided to try this out because it was priced fairly lower than seaguar and Sunline. There is a reason why this is cheaper. It is garbage. The memory is terrible. You will lose significant casting distance. Strength and abrasion resistance is good. But you will have headaches dealing with the memory because of backlashes and decreased distance. Save your money.
From: Brandon: Portland, OR 11/25/16
Comments: Terrible memory.. It is abrasion resistant and strong, but has the worse memory ever. I've used Seaguar and Fc sniper in the past and will stay with those two lines. There is so much memory that you will get backlashes when you cast. KVD conditioner didn't help much. You lose casting distance with this line.
