Overview
Designed for the Midwest Finesse “Ned Rig” technique, the Z Man Ned Lockz HD Jig Head is a finesse-sized jighead that can be fished on heavier equipment. Featuring a mushroom-shaped head design that allows anglers to get their finesse presentations into denser cover, it also has an extra strong Mustad Ultra Point Hook with the power to pull big bass out. Its multi-collared baitkeeper locks ElaZtech and other soft plastic baits firmly in place as well for less re-rigging and more consistent presentations. Available in a variety of sizes and colors, the Z Man Ned Lockz HD Jig Head delivers tough-as-nails performance that finesse anglers will appreciate.

My Only NED HeadI've tried most of the NED heads on the market but I keep coming back to this one. Great hook, perfect keeper for elaztech, and offered in every size I need.

Comments: The redesigned keeper seems to hold Elaztech baits a bit more securely than the classic Z-Man Ned head: I use superglue less often with these. But these jigheads also run heavier than advertised. This is due to that lead keeper on the shank, I think. The "1/15oz" heads I've weighed here at home actually run between 1/11-1/12oz on average. It's not an enormous difference, but when sink rate really matters (when fishing over rocks and deadfalls in current, or when bass are neutral/negative and a slower can help trigger strikes), it's worth remembering. I've found that classic 1/15oz heads tend to outperform "1/15oz" Ned Lockz in those sorts of situations. I guess I'm saying I'd love a "1/20oz" version of these that actually weighs about 1/16!

Comments: At first when the ned rig really blew up there weren't many mainstream options for ned heads so I bought just about all of them. I thought I would like these heads the most, but surprisingly out of all of the heads I tried I liked these least of all. The wire is a bit thicker then some of the other heads and this hook didn't penetrate as well as the thinner diameter hooks. Obviously this is my opinion and don't get me wrong the nedlockz work but for what you pay for these you can get tungsten heads with a sharper hook.

Comments: I love this jig head from Z-Man. It is an important addition to my fishing arsenal. I use the 1/10th ounce with the #1 size hook. I usually rig it up with a Smallie Beaver by Reaction Innovations which is a match made in heaven. The little lead collar keeps the bait from sliding down and the stronger hook is good for multiple fish.

Comments: These are hands down the best Ned heads for any small Ned bait. Have been catching many nice sized fish with the biggest being 6.5 lbs on a SINGLE NED HEAD. These things are crazy durable and the hooks have never bent on me. Get these and you won't regret it ;)

Comments: These hooks are a fair amount stronger than the standard ned rig heads, which is why I chose them, but I am not really happy with the bait keeper. It has not held the bait in place like the other wire style ones out there.

Comments: This is the only Nedhead that I'll use - this hook is super tough. I love the keeper and small profile. This is my go-to until my z-man plastic won't stay on and then I revert to the power finesse shroomz jig with a different still keeper.

Comments: or the guys and gals who prefer to use braid to fluoro like me, these are the heads to use. I've been using these for a while now and have caught some pretty decent smallies up to 4 lb. on these heads with no bending out whatsoever.

Comments: Even though these are more expensive than the other ned heads, get these. I have had many hooks bends and breaks on the other ned heads, but haven't had even the slightest bend on these.

Comments: Works a lot better than the ones with little wire that breaks off and the hook will break on them. First fish
On these heads was a 5-12 smallie with no hook bending.
