Perfect for tough bites and finicky fish, the Z Man Finesse Shroomz Jig Head offers a smaller version of the original Z Man Shroomz Jig Head that’s loaded with bite-sized appeal. Designed with a mushroom-shaped head, the Z Man Finesse Shroomz Jig Head is the go-to choice for a number of lighter techniques, including the increasingly popular Ned-rig. Built with a welded wire baitkeeper along the shank, the Z Man Finesse ShroomZ keeps soft plastics securely in place cast-after-cast. Finished with a razor-sharp black nickel hook, the Z Man Finesse Shroomz Jig Head allows anglers to scale-back their presentation and still produce big results.
Comments: The keepers on these jig heads are terrible. They are hardly welded on, crooked and they just snap off if you try to bend it out even just the slightest bit so it'll actually bite into your plastics.

Comments: QC is gone i keep breaking hooks
From: Unknown: Michigan 9/13/22
Comments: Don't know what's up with the QC on these but it's gone way downhill. Last year, I was catching fish hand over fist on them, and when they'd get snagged, I could normally just pull them out. The hook would bend out, I'd bend it back with pliers, and it would have no problem catching a 5lb fish with the right drag setting. My last couple packs, half the time when I try to pull them out of a snag, the hook breaks clean off the jighead. Never had a product that does that and hoping my next couple packs are back to normal
From: Unknown: 7/17/22
Comments: Definitely the proper jig for a Ned rig. Other companies go way too heavy or too big of a hook. The only modification I do with these is snapping off the soft plastic holder with a pair of pliers. That holder does tend to rip up many plastics and causes the ElaZtech (Zman plastic) to sit odd and require pretty frequent adjusting.

Comments: Using finesse gear, 6' light rod and 6lb copolymer. Broke 3 hooks in one day, all right where the bait keeper is soldered on. 1 broke while a fish was peeling drag.
From: John Cocktoaster: Illinois 9/16/21
Comments: I have caught many fish on these, and yes, they do get good hook penetration, but they bend out and the hook points snap off. I am sure it is not the equipment, as I use a 6' ultralight rod with 8lb mono, and these just keep bending out.
From: Unknown: 6/8/21
Comments: Quality hook and head but the bait keeper seems to break off very easily. Sometimes even just when removing a bait. From: Unknown: 9/27/20
Comments: With right gear hooks never bend out. I flipped a 5 lber over the rails of a dock with out it bending. From: Austin: California 4/12/20
Comments: Before I purchased the Finesse Head I read a few reviews about hooks bending out. I did some research and Z-Man talks about it on their website, and it essentially comes down to user error. I decided to buy the 1/20oz Finesse Head and I love it. I just got back from the lake and I was pulling trout on almost every cast. Last cast landed a 27" ~5lb Rainbow Trout and I nearly dropped my jaw in shock. I didn't even know trout that large were in this water! I'm using a Dobyn's Xtasy 742 (medium light) with 10lb braid to 6lb leader and my drag is set fairly light. You don't need a hard hook set to stick them good. The light wire coupled with a sticky sharp hook really makes it easy to penetrate any palate. I'm using these in 60ft water and just let it fall. I use to think this size was far too light for deep water, but the slow rate of fall is money. If you have finesse gear, this is without a doubt a great addition to your tackle box. From: Ryan: Provo, UT 12/22/19
Comments: If your hooks are bending out the problem is the rod. You should use a medium light in my option. Haven't bent out one hook and you fell the bait way better The Ned is a finesse technique so use a finesse setup and you'll be good. From: Chad: 9/22/19
Comments: A lot of reviews saying they bend and break and I figured I'd share my experience with these. I had the zman shroomz head with a trd and caught a 5 pound 11 oz bass and had absolutely zero problems. Hook did not bend or break. Still super sharp. BUT I have it on the proper gear. You CAN NOT use these on heavy gear. They are made for ULTRA finesse. If you have this on a med heavy rod with 15 pound line and your drag is set at 6 pounds then you set the hook like it's a 1/2 oz jig then yes the hook will definitely break or bend. You want a light action spinning rod with about 8 pound line or something close and set your drag around 2 pounds. You'll be golden and it's a lot of fun catching giant bass on a finesse setup. From: Unknown: 9/16/19
Comments: My grandson and I fished a private lake that we own a lot at yesterday and had no problems with these jigs. We caught 50 to 60 with multiple 3+ pound fish using a 1/6 oz and a FattyZ combo. It's my first day using these jigs but I'd have to say they held up very well, we used the same jig and worm all day!!! We were using spinning equipment with a braid to floro line set up. We were fishing weeds and docks, we even flipped most of the fish over the side because I don't use a net unless it's in a tournament. From: Unknown: Illinois 8/10/19
Comments: I love this jig head. The keeper is solid and the bait never slips. After reading the other reviews I have to disagree with many. My hook up has been 100% with these and I have yet to have a hook bend or break. I do use my finesse set-up so 15lbs braid tied to an 8lbs fluorocarbon leader on a medium light rod. Only issue I have is the paint chips easy but I paint jigs all the time so I just re-powder coat them after after it gets to bad.

Comments: LOVE ZMAN BAITS BUT THE HOOKS ARE REAL WEAK ON THESE. SWITCHED OVER TO LUNKER CITY NED HOOK. VERY STRONG HOOK. STILL USE THE ZMAN BAITS ON THESEFrom: Paul: Fort Myers 7/14/19
Comments: Like most reviewers here, I loved the effectiveness of this jig in combination with Z-Man Finesse TRDs. However, on a really good day of fishing I could not help but notice that my hookup ratio was about 30%. So after a detailed look I noticed that the barb on those is really tiny (practically non-existant), and they bend really easy. Whatever else plays a role here, but I won't buy those anymore and switch to something similar from another brand. I release my catch, but I prefer to hold it in my hand before doing so.
From: Alex: Greenville, SC 5/14/19
Comments: The hook on these jig heads are very weak. I had 3 hooks break while catching some 2 to 3 lb. smallies! They need to make a stronger hook.
From: Rich: Troy 10/13/18
Comments: I bought these jigs hoping some of the reviews were wrong but they weren't. Busted in half hooks, hooks that opened up and being small you would think they would penetrate easy but not in big fish. I am disappointed.
From: Pat: Green Bay WI 6/18/18
Comments: I love these baits. Last year in the summer I went out to Willamette River in Western Oregon. I was initially throwing just a plain Senko but it wasn't until I threw on the Z-Man Finnesse Shroomz with a TRD worm that I really started slappin' em'. Caught 63 fish the entire day, a lot of small ones but I also caught my personal best small mouth at 5.3 pounds. Great product Z-Man. Keep up the phenomenal work!
From: Stephen Blackhawk; Wack Oregon 4/9/18
Comments: Really wanted to love these. Fished a tournament yesterday and had about a 65-70% hookup ratio. That's unheard of with an exposed hook. I like these but they are not sharp and they also bend open every couple of fish.
From: Drew: California 4/8/18
Comments: I love these, but make sure that you're using light line. I've had a couple of these break on me, but only when I'm using heavier flouro.
From: Noah: Vancouver, WA 1/18/18
Comments: These are great jigs but the wire keepers fall off. It seems like every jig they fall off. Make sure you carry super glue. Hooks are sharp. Other than the keepers falling off these are perfect jigs for the TRD.
From: Cory: Mandan 4/3/17
Comments: These little jigheads are the way to go for the Ned Rig. The hook is very sharp & easy to set with a sharp lift, rather than a typical hookset. The Ned Rig catches amazing numbers, especially in tough conditions. No it's not a big fish bait, it gets a lot of dinks. But if it's a tough bite and you need some bass, reach for this and the bite will start.
From: Tyler: Grand Junction, CO 10/29/16
Comments: The Z-Man Finesse Shroomz Jig Heads are phenomenal. I have personally found that in shallow water, the lighter the jig, the better. Althought the wire does keep things together with the Elaztech material, adding a dab of Gorilla Glue will aid in keeping the TRD, or whatever you throw on here, stay in place.
From: Rich: PA 7/20/16
Comments: The Ned rig slams bass on blue bird days when the night is tough. Hooks are sharp but the only problem is they're weak & bend easily.
From: Logan: MO 7/3/16
Comments: I tried out the Ned rig with the T.R.D. & can't believe how well they work. I have been skunked the last couple times I went out bass fishing so I thought why not try it out and wow! I rigged it with the 1/15 oz. & I can't believe how good it works. I don't want to tell my friends because then they will get them too. Anyway, I caught pickerel, crappie, smallmouth and mostly largemouth on this thing. It is so easy to use, they hook themselves with just a turn of the reel and a sweeping motion. Try it, you will love it.
From: RJ: Enfield, CT 6/13/16
Comments: The ned rig absolutely destroys & won my last tournament thanks to it, sure you will catch some small fish but any size fish will bite these. Works amazing for bed fishing & sight fishing & fish cannot resist a zinkers cut in half or a TRD on this head jist keep your drag low and pull up into the fish like you would a dropshot hookset or else you will bend the hook out after a few fish and ive had a hook break. As much as you're tempted to set the hook hard with these you don't need to they are sticky sharp. Yet another great product from zman!
From: Rick: Otisville, NY 5/24/16
Comments: I don't know what it is about the Ned rig but the fish just love it. I love been using the green pumpkin color 1/10 oz and it's been working great. I pair it up with the z man hoolastick (I think that's what they are called) and I cut off about a half inch and it's a killer rig. Used it so much that there's barley and paint left on the jig. I highly recommend the Ned rig.
From: Danny: CT 5/8/16
Comments: The wire keeper on these works too well. Removing a Z-man soft plastic is difficult and does tear up the lure. Even worse is that when a fish hits, the wire keeper will completely tear through the side of the lure. I've tried these and have since switched back to standard jig heads with the molded lead keeper.
From: Scott: Topeka, KS 7/17/15
Comments: Anywhere you go in the country the Ned-Rig flat out CATCHES FISH! Personally i like putting a grub on instead of the TRD for a bit more action... get a couple packs of these jig heads, because i have lost a few on stumps/rock piles
From: Kyle: Tomah, WI 6/23/15
Comments: Got these out of a mystery tackle box 2 months ago. Kinda shrugged them off as something I wouldn't use. Went to elk horn creek near Frankfort, known for being a amazing small mouth creek. Water was the clearest I've ever seen, could see down 3-4 feet. Through a few other baits starting off, crank baits, zoo horny toad, and really got nothing. Decided to through on something different. Pulled out the ned rig, and holly crap my day went from starting off bad. To the best day I've had on the water in a very long time. Caught 22 small mouth, 1 large mouth, and a fat drum. All on the ned rig! What was a disappointment. Is now my go to bait in the creeks. Gonna try it in a few lakes too.
