Overview

Zoom took one of its most popular and effective fishing lures and added a swimming paddle tail. The Zoom Swimming Super Fluke also features a new formulation and enough bulk to cast it country mile (even weightless). The extremely soft plastic allows the boot tail to impart a tantalizing kicking action, and because of its streamlined design, it still works great around vegetation and timber. Rig it on a weightless or weighted swimbait hook depending on what portion of the water column you plan to attack, and like the original, it can also be rigged in a variety of additional effective presentations. Excellent for schooling bass or as a search tool when you are trying to locate fish, the Zoom Swimming Super Fluke is available in a variety of colors to match the forage in your local waters.

GreatI love fishing the Jr size on a finesse mojo rig, and it straight up catches fish of all sizes. I haven't tried the larger size but I will soon. My favorite color so far is either the disco violet for overcast days or the white ice for sunny conditions. I recomend using a 2/0 hook or maybe smaller for these. A 3/0 hook slightly improved the hookup ratio but compromised the tails action. I fish these in NC, SC and Minnesota and they catch fish everywhere.

Comments: I 100% am aware on how to fix bent soft plastic tails...but you shouldn't have to. Be aware you will have to use this trick on every bait in the pack. I get to fish one day a week, if I am lucky...and not a full day at that. I will NOT spend any of my free time boiling baits to fix them. Better packaging will fix this issue and Zoom won't do it. Hard pass for me.

From: Dudewright: 11/14/22

Comments: Caught a 6lb 21" smallmouth on the river with this bait two weeks ago . Was slow reeling it and twitching rod like fishing a swim jig. This bait has a deadly roll to it when worked at perfect speed

From: Phil: South Carolina 7/20/21

Comments: Peg a 1/8 oz weight. They work much better with the bullet weight vs the swimbait hook. The silver flash and pro blue red pearl smacks them.

From: Trey, Guntersville 5/28/21

Comments: I picked some of these up the other day because I love the classic super fluke and was shopping for paddle tails, saw these and figured why not. These work well as swim jig trailers but that is about it. When I rigged them on a weightless Swimbait hook they would go straight to the surface as soon as I started reeling, which caused the tail to stop and the bait sort of just glided over the surface. I rigged them on an 8th oz hook and was able to use them, but if I reeled too fast they would immediately go straight to the surface again. There was nothing wrong with the quality of these baits, and I am a BIG zoom fan, but these just weren't what i was looking for.

Comments: The standard 5 inch are lethal in Saltwater for striped bass. If you receive a few that are bent simply boil some water and carefully dip the tail in the water for 5 seconds. 2.) Then while the plastic is soft, lightly pull the front and back of the plastic at the same time and hold for 10 seconds. 3) Place the corrected plastic in a bowl of ice water to chill then dry off. This will straighten out it out. You can do this on most zoom plastics with a deformity. They will bend out of shape as packaged but the quick fix is so simple even a cave man can do it. Simply easy fix and it keeps the cost way down.

Comments: Love the standard super fluke, but these aren't so great in my experience. They are durable but that's where the positives end. The material isn't soft enough which makes the whole bait roll back and forth instead of just swimming like most paddletails would. I'm sticking with keitechs, worth the couple extra dollars to have a swim bait that runs true.

From: Ryan: Muncie, IN 5/16/19

Comments: Everyone says the tails are bent but it really doesn't make a difference. They slay fish either way. I fish them over pads and grass and the fish just crush them. The only bad thing I could say is the durability of them but I have caught 5 pounders on these without their tails. Just another great zoom product.

From: John: CT 6/1/17

Comments: Awsome bait as are all most all zoom baits at a great price. Keep up the good work. About the packaging, keep it the way it is. Its keeping the price down. You go to the preformed packaging and the price point is no longer there. The amount a person has to straighten is so minimal its a non issue.

From: Cory: Mandan, ND 2/13/16

Comments: These are among the first plastic lures to EVER work for me. I had lost faith that I wasted almost 70 bucks on lures and tackle but it finally paid off today and I hammered a nice 2.8lb bass at 15 inches on the Rage Craw. I had 2 other bass explode all over my Superfluke on California 420 but they never fully commited, just swiped it. I also had a Northern Pike absolutely NAIL my Superfluke. It still came out in one piece. Just tells you how durable it is. Very nice day of fishing and nice plastic baits!

From: Braden: Monticello, MN 8/27/15

Comments: Went night fishing with the swimming super flukes in perl & me & my sister both caught 7 nice sized bass we where fishing it weightless on a 3/0 wide gap kinda swimming it on top & the blow ups where unreal and dip in boiling water to straighten the tails out

From: Tim: NJ 8/4/15

Comments: These baits are my swim jig trailers and some people say that the tails are messed up sometimes, but I have used many packs, and I have never had a problem.

From: Mitch: MN 7/7/15

Comments: This is one of my favorite swim jig trailers! Watermelon Red then dip the tail in Chartreuse and game on.

From: Justin: Redmond, OR 11/19/14

Comments: Haven't caught fish with them yet but I can't wait to! Yah they come a bit bent, but all you have to do is dip the tail in boiling water for ten seconds and straighten it out again. The swimming action is great, it wiggles and the tail has a good paddle to it. I rig it on a 3/0 offset wide gap, with a little split shot in front, gives it a little wiggle on the fall. Overall a good bait in my opinion

From: Chris: Oklahoma City, OK 8/15/14

Comments: These are great, I was actually suprised as to just how good these work as there are more realistic looking swimbaits on the market. What sets these apart is how the tails wiggle at the slowest retrieve speeds unlike other swimbaits. Also the durability is pretty darn good. Yes the nose can rip, but just tear it off and rehook and you will get a few more fish out of it. I caught 11 bass off of one jr pearl swimmin fluke the other day. The jr version works perfect with a 2/0 ewg hook & 1/16 oz weight texas rigged.

From: John: Oskhosh, WI 8/7/14

Comments: Packed horribly wrong. Each tail is bent. I would rather spend my money buying a swimbait that is packaged correctly and will give me straight tails out of the pack. Zoom....come on! Every time I see these on the shelves, same issue.

From: Jay6: USA 7/25/14

Comments: Very effective! I do alot of fishing in both fresh and salt and these are very effective for fishing eelgrass beds in harbors, I use the 3" swimming super-flukes T-rigged, with a 1/16 oz bullethead, and a 1/0 EWG hook. IMO these outperform all other swimbaits in this size, especially the wildly-acclaimed Hammerheads. Freshwater-Albino in shad-populated waters, baby bass, smokin shad, and junebug absolutely murder the largemouth! Saltwater- White ice and white Pearl are deadly for California Halibut, while watermelon magic, and watermelonseed slay the spotties and surfperch! Try this- T-rig on a 1/0 hook, again, use a 1/16 oz bullethead, peg the weight against the nose of the fluke, and slow roll in in the surf for massive Barred surfperch!

From: Marcus: Anaheim, CA 6/18/14

Comments: Used this bait for the first time this past December.  Put a white pearl on a 4/0 Lazer Sharp EWG hook and fished it weightless in a shallow grass filled lake.  Swam it, jerked it, and caught four bass (biggest was 20") and three pickerel.  Had a number of hits where the fish were grabbing the tail.  Can't wait for the weather to warm up a little and try it again.

From: Dave: Virginia Beach, VA

Comments: I use this bait from early(february)in the year to spring time.I like to rig it weightless using only a very small swivel with an 10 inch leader and only a 2/0 hook. Killer set up for early prespawn bass. White colors... to watermelons, you simply put em in the boat with this!! Its one of the deadlest baits out there.

From: Michael: Ripley, TN

Comments: This is an amazing bait.  I have the 5in version in Watermelon Magic.  This bait rolls from side to side just like a crankbait.  It also has very good tail action on the fall.  I fished it with a weighted swimbait hook and it looked amazing.  Caught two 2lbers and missed a 3lber.  Very nice bait.

From: Ethan: Charlottesville, VA

Comments: Great bait to use at night. Work them slowly with a steady retrieve and hang on!

From: Clay: Crossville, TN

Comments: Those that haven't tried this bait don't know how great it is.  First time out, slapped it on a 5/0 weighted swimbait hook and caught a 41.5" muskie on the first cast.  Then caught a bunch of bass after that.  Great lure!  Tail action is awesome!

From: Thor: MN

Comments: Owner 1/8 oz 4/0 belly weighted swimbait hook + baitfish swimmin super fluke = goodnight!!!!!!

From: Shazam: USA

Comments: This works well with a swim jig

From: Chris: Ohio

Comments: CAN U SAY BAMA RIG!!!

From: Trevor

Comments: i was kinda skeptical with this swimbait because ill i used before was gambler big EZ's but i caught some pretty good fish off this bait and im very impressed

From: Jacob: Lakeland, FL

Comments: Zoom Flukes always catch fish no matter how tough the conditions. The California 420 is a deadly weapon I always keep in the arsenal. Day or night, murky or clear water, the California 420 always gets me on fish!

From: Jin: Southern California

Comments: i think its a great bait but i would love to see zoom bring this bait to a biger size like they did with there flukes.

From: Jase: FL

Comments: i really like these baits i have had great sucsess with them fishing them on the outside weed edges. i have on e tied on my 6,6" med hvy vendetta with a abu garcia revo sx with 65 pound power pro braid, they will always have a place in my tackle bag

From: Jared: USA

Comments: Good alternate choice to a normal tube paddletail swimmer. Had good success slow rolling in clear water. Two thumbs up

From: Ceaser: CA Delta

Comments: I like the bait, but it is packaged very poorly. Tails are bent and will need to be dipped in hot water to be straightened enough to fish with. Would like to see Zoom folks put these in a clam shell to preserve the shape.

From: Alan: Adairsville, GA

Comments: These new flukes are the truth!! Bass Love'EM!! I got pack in WMR and caught fish everytime I used them until I ran out. Actually I still have one tied on that I landed a 5lb'er with earlier this morning. They hold up about as good as a normal fluke.

From: James: Orange Park, FL

Comments: Just bought some. They look great, but the jr. size is smaller than you would think. They are only like 3"

From: Dakota: Monteagle, TN

Comments:  These baits are so good and versatile. The tail is the differrence and Disco Violt works well in all colors of water and even at night. You can rig them anyway that you like and there is noway to fish them incorrectly! I would like to see a few more colors such as black and blue, black and gold and solid black.
