Michael "Ike" Iaconelli used the a prototype of the Missile Baits Ike's Mini Flip Jig en route to his victory in super tough conditions at the 2014 Bassmaster Elite Series event on the Delaware River.
Sometimes dynamite comes in small packages, and that has never been more true than with the Missile Jigs Ike's Mini Flipping Jig. The brainchild of Mike Iaconelli and John Crews, it has several design features that set it apart from any flipping jig you’ve ever fished. For one, it is extremely well balanced with the weight centered around the hook shank. This combined with its compactness and perfectly angled weedguard allow it to get in and out of the nastiest cover with ease 99% of the time.
Its compactness and balance also allow it to fall faster than your standard jig, and keep it down better in current. This helps you keep better bottom contact and better contact with cover. The fine cut skirt also moves and pulses with the slightest movement, adding additional lifelike action. Available in a range of colors hand-picked by Ike and Crews, the Missile Jigs Ike's Mini Flipping Jig gets bit when standard jigs just can’t cut it.
Comments: Been using these for a couple years now. Never had an issue with any of the components. Caught a ton of big fish on this jig in a foot or two of water under overhanging bushes in the bright sun.
From: Unknown: 3/9/22
Comments: This jig really doesn't hold up well in the quality department when you factor in the price of the jig. The paint used on the jig head chips off with minimal contact in rock. The skirt bands tend to fail prematurely as compared to other jigs as well. If it were me I would suggest looking at the Keitech flipping jig if you want the same profile and style of jig. It's cheaper and has a tungsten head so your sensitivity increases exponentially over this jig.
From: Unknown: 1/25/22
Comments: A GREAT jig that is well designed, well crafted, perfectly colored and easily fished. The tungsten and weight forward head, fine cut skirt and ultra sharp hook make for a compact jig that is perfect when matched with a smaller trailer. Give it a try,you will not be disappointed.
From: Howard: Nebraska 11/7/21
Comments: These jigs have horrible quality. Ive snapped 2 hooks this week in half. Love the way they look and perform, but the quality is terrible.
From: Chris: Hazard, KY 6/5/20
Comments: Really wanted to like this jig because the profile is great. However, the overall quality is trash. I bought 6 of them about 2 years ago and only have 1 left. Weedguards just fall out. I had one lose its skirt completely on the 4th or 5th cast. Paint completely chips off even with minimal hard contact. Better options out there for finesse flip jigsFrom: Matt: Florence, KY 1/15/20
Comments: Very discouraging when on your 3rd pitch with this jig the weedguard falls off.. Invest in a better product than this..From: Donovan: Marksville 6/10/19
Comments: These jigs are not worth the money. The paint jobs are good chips very easy. I had the weed guard fall off on the first pitch. Save your money and buy a different jig.
From: H3: Martinsville, IN 4/26/19
Comments: best jig out there I fish a very pressured lake where almost everyone flips beavers and big jigs I can fish behind anyone and always catch fish great in muddy or semi clear water I like the black and blue with a black and blue rage menace grub and for semi clear water like 2-3 foot I love the california love with a green pumpkin rage menace grub I fish this on 60 pound bright yellow power pro braid with a 20 pound leader length depending on water
From: Nate: columbus ohio 9/7/18
Comments: These jigs are fantastic. I fish a lot of ponds and these crush em. Paired with a netbait Paca Slim the fish just can't resist.
From: Josh: Illinois 3/5/18
Comments: First day out flipping brush with the brown purple passion caught 4 largemouth . weights 5.8 4.0 3.11 and 3.8 love the jigs in muddy water
From: Josh: South Carolina 12/28/17
Comments: Sunfish IPA and Brown Purple Passion are lights out. When it comes to a confidence bait, the Ike Mini Flip is my hands down favorite.
From: NYAngler 10/20/17
Comments: these are great jigs cant say enough but weed gard could be little stronger but 4.5 out of 5
From: Unknown - 9/29/17
Comments: This jig is good and can catch fish because it is so compact, but do not buy it if you want to fish it around rock. The paint chips off very easily, if they fix this then it's be great.
From: Logan: New York 2/22/17
Comments: Very amazing Jig!!!! Black and Blue 1/2 is my go two. All ready caught a couple of keepers. Definitely going to buy more!!!
From: Juan Woodlake, CA 1/2/17
Comments: Great quality jig, does everything it should, definatley worth buying.
From: Jim: Lavalle, WI 7/11/16
Comments: This jig is great! I have had no problems at all with this jig. I like to pair it up with a baby d bomb as a trailer. The hook is super sharp & I never miss a bite. The weed guard is thick enough so I don't get hung up but it's still soft enough to get a good hook set.
From: Tim: USA 5/18/16
Comments: Jig has a great profile & works well for a half a day till the weed guard falls out, the quality is lacking for the price you pay.
From: Jack: USA 4/30/16
Comments: These jigs are the BOMB! They have a fine skirt they is not too bulky & when paired with the Sk baby rage craw they are irresistible. I have been looking for the perfect jig for quite some time now & it looks like I've found it. My favorite patterns are black/blue & green pumpkin in the 1/4 ounce model. I have yet to try any of the others but I will soon.
From: Troy: TX 11/3/15
Comments: only had these jigs for a couple of days each. The first one I lost it when a biggin wrapped me up in some timber. So far I like the fact that they catch monsters.
From: BamaBassMan: Pell City, AL 7/22/15
Comments: These jigs are $. Shenandoah River bass sure do love em. Add Sk baby rage craw for trailer= fish catching machine!
From: Kevin: Shenandoah River, VA 7/19/15
Comments: These jigs are great, i just have a slight issue with the 3/8 oz jigs that the weed guard falls out when when i catch fish. However the 1/2 oz jigs are perfect.
From: Mike: PA 7/16/15
Comments: I love this jig! It is a perfect combo with a reins ring craw. The bass smash this!
From: Pete: NJ 7/3/15
Comments: awesome product. Any color has produced. Fav is the bammer craw. Paired with a netbait tiny paco chunk. Grip the rod with both hands and hold on... before this lure i used jigs all the time and never caught a fish. It is most definately a new tool in my arsenol
From: Mark: VA 6/26/15
Comments: These jigs are great, the only problem I have is I just ordered only one to try out.
From: Leon: Jonesboro, GA 6/8/15
Comments: Great product. Used it at Kincaid lake in Illinois and spent the day flipping heavy timber and grass. 3rd flip into the grass caught a 4.5. Used this thing for a long time and have had absolutely no trouble with it. At all. No hook bends no skirt problems, and I beat my jigs to death. Pair these things with baby d bombs and hold on!
From: Jim: USA 6/6/15
Comments: This is a great jig, the bass on my home lake hardly touch any other jigs I flip. A couple flips in I caught a 3 pounder which is good for up here, I was very surprised
From: Hunter: Union, ME 6/2/15
Comments: just fished this jig for the first time yesterday during a somewhat tough bite. After flipping normal texas rigged baits into the tules at my local lake, I started throwing the mini flip jig with a paca craw on the back. The mini jig got into small homes and cover really well & I started getting bit right away. I really like this jig a lot but the hook will not hold up to heavy cover while using braid. My hook was getting bent out after rippin a couple smaller fish out of the tules. May not be meant for this kind of fishing but I'd like to see a stronger hook. The skirt is alright. Nothing special. If you aren't throwing this thing in the nastiest stuff, I say go for it!
From: Luke: CA 5/17/15
Comments: I got one in each color & the quality is top notch & bass crush these things. Awesome product
From: Joe: RI 5/6/15
Comments: Used it for the first time today. This thing is a beast it come through the timber & grass flawlessly. The 1/4 oz California love with a baby d bomb in black & red helped me catch some nice fish when nothing else was getting the job done. Awesome product and will buy more.
From: Blake: Columbus, GA 4/26/15
Comments: PROS: Very compact, haven't had it hang up on anything yet (12hrs spent using it), paint is like Rhino Liner for truck beds so its TOUGH, weight selection! Oh and fish inhale this thing. CONS: There is some left over lead from the jigs mold like previously stated.
From: Chris: TX 4/26/15
Comments: These are the bomb, no joke! Great quality, compact, and a good hook. I pair mine with an ultra vibe chunk. Thanks to Ike and John Crews for this great jig, will be purchasing more.
From: Nick: NJ 4/23/15
Comments: Not the quality I am use to from missile baits. Left over pour on the bottom of the jig head and the quality of the skirt is not up to par.
From: Michael: Houston, TX 4/23/15
Comments: I like the 1/4oz with a zoom ultra vibe chunk. Green Pumpkin and Bruiser are all you need. Once those tails on the trailer kick and the skirt flares, it's game over. Nice and compact, slips in and out of cover very well.
From: Nick: NJ 4/18/15
Comments: I don't see these as $5 jigs. The quality control is poot. I bought 2 of them, a 1/4oz and a 1/2oz. The 1/4 weedguard was no where near over the point of the hook. I gently pushed the weedguard to line up with the hook and 3 pieces of the weedguard fell out. I also hate the fact that the eye of the hook is painted over. Also, the bait keeper is nearly non-existent. It needs some type of bard. I expected a lot more from Missile. I love the overall shape and size of the jigs but they seem poorly designed.
From: Chris: Indianapolis, IN 4/15/15
Comments: For the record, I own these as well as other.
From: Honest Fisherman: Show My Review, USA 4/10/15
Comments: the quality of these jigs is not worth the 5 dollars. There is left over pour from the mold and the hook point was painted over. Even had to retie the skirt because it was so thin
From: Robby: IL 4/5/15
Comments: Bait of the year. A handful of these jigs in the right colors and sizes, a handful of d bombs in the right colors and I can catch Bass anywhere year round. Bait of the year.
From: Sean: Washoe Valley, NV
Comments: Using the craw colored pattern. it has a awesome dropping technique to it that drives the bass crazy.. highly recommended.
From: Andre: Buffalo Junction, VA 3/25/15
Comments: These jigs do not play around. The smaller size allows you to fish a heavy jig as more of a finesse style and you can still fish it when they're really active. This is a good all around flipping jig! The weed guard is a little soft for my tastes but the smaller sized hook helps not getting hung up. The head design is a work of art and the paint holds up very well. It feels like rhino lining you put in a truck bed. I got the California love color and paired it with a netball paca chunk and they hammer it in Alabama. I fish most heavy timber and have had no problems. Jig has caught 26 bass now and shows no signs of wear! 5$ is a bit expensive for a jig, but it's quality and will last longer than the cheaper ones. I definetely recommend giving this jig a shot, you'll fall in love with it.
From: Paul: AL 3/13/15
Comments: These jigs are killers. I went fishing with Shannon Wheeler, who works at Missile Baits. The weather was 42 degrees with rain and the water temp was barely 44. We caught 13 and of the 13, 10 came on the 1/2 oz. mini flip. I can't wait to get mine. If seeing is believing, I believe I will get more than just a few.
