Overview
The Extra Wide Gap Plus hooks, from Owner America, are uniquely different than other wide gap hooks. Start with the exclusive Owner Cutting Point; it actually decreases resistance as the hook penetrates because the sharp edges of the point cut rather than act like a wedge that increases resistance as it goes in deeper. These hooks have the beautiful black chrome finish that will virtually eliminate corrosion and heavy wire that will not straighten out under load. The offset is very deep, sharper than 90 degrees, and called the Z-Bend by Owner, which helps the plastic bait stay in place when you drag it through rough cover. Another key difference is the fact that the point is on the same plane as the eye, which means 100% of the force you put into the hookset goes into the point for maximum penetration. Owner does this without sacrificing the deep bend for a true extra wide gap hook.

Comments: Great hooks! I use them mainly for bulky creature baits. I haven't had a problem at all with them penetrating these type baits.

Comments: These hooks work but I can never get the hooks to fully penetrate it's odd because I use 20 lb Floro and a 7'6" extra heavy Flippin stick and the hook doesn't seem to penetrate to the bend. I've chalked it up to the fact the cutting point is a diamond shape and wider on the sides of the hook than the hook wire diameter itself. It's a shame. I'm no Googan either I've been fishing for 27 years and seen a state record smallmouth get caught in front of me that's 8lbs and some change.

Comments: Favorite flipping hook, use 4/0 on the new Big Bite BFE last year and had great hookups, fished on a Dobyns DC 736C SH and 25lb Sunline, never ever had to worry about straightening out

Comments: One of my favorite hooks for power fishing, great product!

Comments: I love these hooks. I've been making my own weighted swimbait hooks latley, and these here are the best I've found for what I'm trying to achieve. The extra wide gap between the point and shank is key for me. The sharpness of the hook is most definatley a huge bonus. Some are actually too sharp almost lol. I use the 2/0 mostly. Usually with a 3" paddle tail, or some 4" swim baits. And the 4/0 for 5 and 6" baits. I've had 2 of the 2/0 bend iut a little, one on a good size Jack Crevalle and the othe on about a 3' Tarpon. Landed both fish, but they were obviously bent. The 4/0 are definatley tougher. I'm not gonna stray from these for a while. Definatley a hard to beat hook.

Comments: my 4/0 gama hooks have been straightening out on me on 3lb and over fish but i do use braid for beaver baits t rigged thinking about these but they cost so much more , guess i'll just keep changing the hook after a four pounder!

Comments: I've been using Owner Hooks for many moons. I fish speed worms and plastic worms a lot here in Florida. I have caught several bass on these hooks including 2-8 lbers. and a 9 1/2 lber this year. I use 3/0 and 4/0 mostly. When you have a big bass on in hydrilla you need a hook that's gonna penetrate and hold that bass. These hooks have never once let me down, and I've never lost a bass because of these hooks.

Comments: Been using these hooks for well over a decade. Maybe 2. Socal guy with a lot of species to target. 1/0 and 2/0 in the bay for t-rigged plastics for spotties. 3/0 for Senkos/Flukes, 4/0 for Ika and 5/0 for Beavers. The hooks are thick and they can tear up some plastics a bit more than I'd like (I'm looking at you, Senkos), but it's still worth a few extra wasted baits to me. I've tried lighter wire options from both Owner and Gamakatsu over the years and had plenty of hooks bend out and even a couple snap in half. Thousands of fish and well over a dozen species caught including some large fish on heavy line with drag buttoned down and never an issue with these hooks.

Comments: I have used the wide gap plus for a year now and all I can say is amazing things about these hooks. I use #3 #4 and 5s for the big worms. I caught 40 fish on the same #3. 40 lb braid to 18 lb floro leader and flawless results. Thank you owner and thank you tw for keeping them in stock.

Comments: I personally use these to rig the Fat Ika and the Jackall Cover Craw so far, I have no complaints because they've never let me down.

Comments: I mainly use these when I'm fishing Twin Tail Skirted Grubs or a Craw of sorts. I love the Wide Gap Plus with the cutting edge tip. In the past I believe I lost some fish due to poor hook sets trying to get the needle points to push through bigger chunks of plastics, but with the angle of the wide gap plus and the cutting edge; the number of missed hook sets is almost "NILL". I can't ever foresee myself using anything but Owner Hooks for as long as I'm able to cast a rod.

Comments: This hook is with out a doubt the best hook I have ever used. It is super sharp and is super strong. Owner really makes quality strong hooks there is nothing better out there!
From: Bandit: Omaha, NE 5/7/14
Comments: My favorite hooks by far! Very sharp and strong! It's really incredible how sharp they are. And because they're stronger you can put more pressure on a big fish when needed, without having the hook to bend, even with the smaller hooks.
From: Marco: Portugal
Comments: Super Strong, Sharp Reliable Hook. Have used this hook exclusively for the last 2 seasons and love it. It has a little different "wide gap" bend than most hooks and has a excellent hook-up ratio. Very different point, almost like it's shaped like a diamond, try the 4/0 most common with the PowerTeam Lures 3.5" TRJ it's a perfect match, swung many many fish in the boat never bent one out. Give them a try

Comments: Been using Gamakatsu hooks for the longest time for plastics. I use Owner trebles for my swimbaits and love them. So I decided to try these out because I know how stick sharp they are. Caught a little dink of a bass and decided to throw him in as bait because I saw a bigger one chasing it when reeling in. I watched the line moving around and knew the chase was on. Felt a huge thump and set the hook. 2 fish on one hook. Awesome!!

Comments: Used Gamas forever, loved them! Then started missing fish when flipping cover. Friend told me to give Owners a try. WOW! Awesome, awesome, awesome, awesome.........haven't missed a fish since changing. Getting all my hooks changed over as quickly as possibly!

Comments: I keep VMC` and Gamas in the boat for fun fishing but tie on nothing but Owners for tournaments. Tried them all, nothing better than Owner.

Comments: tried these out one time and from now on I no longer use gamakatsus... These have a thicker diameter and hold up tough. Have not had any bending or tip rolling. Couple words from the wise try these out you won't regret it

Comments: Owner hooks have had to earn their place in my tackle box. They are my favorite hook brand hands down. I used to use those cheap Gamas, but they had a habit of tearing up my soft plastics 'cause they were so thin. I tried a pack of Owner 4/0 Wide Gap Plus hooks and I was a convert from there on out. I gave all of my cheap Gamas to my friends and switched completely over to Owner. Guess who is the only one never missing a strike in our weeked pot tournament. Ha. Owner will never let you down!

Comments: best soft plastic jerkbait and tube hook on the planet! that extra gap gets through meaty baits with room to spare. they hold up to braided line and a locked down drag very well also. the point holds up too.
From: bassNredfish: Louisiana, USA
Comments: These hooks are great. They hold a point very well and the diameter seems to be perfect. These hooks don't bend when you have to use pliers or a palm strike to get the hook out of a fish. I use these for light and heavy line and they work exceptionally for both. Take up the slack and lean back and you got em. The PLUS is another feature that is ideal in my opinion. They have a open bite that seems to stick fish in the upper jaw or far in the back of the mouth. I am telling you they have improved my catch rate big time. I have used about every hook and have always found these to be twice as good.
