Comments: Over the years I have been blessed to have many reels, of all the spinning reels I have owned, none compare to the Shimano Stradic FL, quality is superb, feel and function are second to none. It is a top shelf reel for a reasonable price that you will enjoy fishing with all day or night.

Comments: Very impressed! This reel works flawlessly, and the drag is super smooth. Definitely worth every penny! If your on the fence about getting one of these, don't hesitate. Just get it in your hands, and assure you will be happy once you have it.

Comments: It's my go to reel the why: I see folks comment that reels is too big for a certain rod. Reels are about gear ratio, size does play a small factor in fatigue. You can always slow down a retreive but speeding it up is limited to gear ratio. Stratic is gretas for this and the weight is minimal.

Comments: I use the reel on a dropshot rod and i am impressed with the functionality and how smooth it is. Very nice quality and durability. Really puts confidence in my fishing. I landed a huge striper on it without it snapping the light line. Wasn't in a strugle and put the power in my hands giving me the advantage to land such a big fish on a light set up.

Comments: This is the 2nd Stratic I have owned. Very smooth and light weight. However, I have bern disappointed with the bail closing when making a cast. Not every time but much too often.
From: George: Florida 3/11/23
Comments: Great reel very smooth this is the first one of this model. I have 3 of the other Stradic CI 4+ models and I fish tournaments and haven't had any problems. A little pricey but worth it.

Comments: This is a strong reel. It has a very solid frame that just simply doesn't flex no matter how big the fish or how heavy the cover. 3000 size has a great drag. The drag stays very consistent and isn't easy to accidentally move. Overall this reel is as good as my Vanford reels just a little bit heavier with a noticably stronger frame.

Comments: I give this reel just an ok. Drag was not up to par with Ci14 seems and looks a little cheap 3 stars out of 5.

Comments: Took it fishing to south Louisiana for inshore redfish and trout. It handled bull reds with ease! Great drag, great casting. Great reel.

Comments: Shimano Stratic Spinning Reel HGFL, I have been using Stratic reels for 21 years. A lot of improvements since then. The new reel very smooth, good quality, fairly light 7.9oz.,gear ratio ,6.0:1, and a 35'' line recovery,Great drag. It's just a good reel.

Comments: I owned a Stratic Fk 2500 and Stratic CI4+ 3000, both reels performed flawlessly with no issues fishing inshore saltwater. I recently purchased the new Stratic FL 3000 and paired it to my Phenix 7,6 M1 with Daiwa J8, 15lbs braided line to target RockCod or Rock fish in Monterey, California. The new Stratic Fl is smooth and solid. The casting distance has improved with the taller spool. First night out I limited out with no issues with the new reel. It performed flawlessly which I can't say the same for my Diawa Ballistic LT 2500 that failed me.

Comments: Smooth as silk! I use it for finesse applications like the Ned rig and dropshot! It is worth the money to spend on it!

Comments: Awesome reel! I own 7 Stradic reels from the early nineties up till now and all still in action. Love the color of this new one and it's smooth, casts great and durable. Buy one and you will not regret it.

Comments: Great reel. I own the Ci4+ and this FL, both reels are amazing. Paired this FL up with a Tatula Elite rod, perfect match. Excellent balance, and they look great together. Eventually will buy few more for various techniques. Can find nice aftermarket round EVA foam knobs that really feel nice too, when using these reels for heavier applications, otherwise the small grip is fine for finesse stuff.

Comments: I bought the 2500 and it was smooth and quiet. I was impressed but I didn't like the regular handle. The 3000 has the T handle so I returned the 2500 and got the 3000. Great handle but the reel was very noisy. Hard to believe it was the same reel. I guess I shouldn't really be surprised this day in age.

Comments: Great reel. Very happy with this purchase. Have this on my ned rig rod (2500 size). Very smooth and excellent casting distance with light baits. I have a Vanford as well and I'm really not sure which I like better. I really don't think you can go wrong with either one.

Comments: Awesome spinning reel very smooth casting right out of the box durable I think it's most definitely the best spinning reel out on the market right and there's not a big difference between the stradic 3000 and 4000 you have alot of people who will argue that you need a smaller reel and you should buy the 3000 but I disagree you have the option of putting smaller size line on the 4000 in certain fishing situations but not that much room to add bigger size line to the 3000 but there again that's just my opinion based on what type of fishing situations I'm in I live in the south my home lake is Lake Lanier but I also go over to Lake Guntersville several times a year as well if that gives anyone a better idea of how versitle this reel can be!!!!
From: Matt: Canton, GA 1/8/22
Comments: Smoothest reel I own. Only had a couple opportunities to use it being winter now, but when I have used it, it's worked beautifully. My opinion may be a bit skewed due to my usual reels are usually under $100.
From: Dan: Lewis Center, OH 1/5/22
Comments: Bought the Stradic in the 4000 and I think I like it slightly better than my Vanfords. I have 3 Vanfords also in the 4000 size. Don't get me wrong, I love my Vanfords. But I think I prefer the heavier weight of the Stradic and also the handle has a slightly larger paddle handle, at least in the 4000. Not sure if the smaller sizes come with one. I filled up my Stradic with 12-pound Trilene XL and use the reel for throwing Yo Zuri Rattlin' Vibes, Whopper Plopper 90s and flipping Sweet Beavers. I will definitely be ordering another.
From: Ken: Tulsa, OK 12/12/21
Comments: This reel is smooth, casts well, very minimal handle play, looks good and has a nice sounding drag clicker. It's not lighter than air to turn like the Vanford with its MGL rotor but it's a different type of smooth and a totally different reel when compared to the Vanford. It is heavy compared to Vanford and Ci4 Stradic but balances some rods better than the super light reels do. The drag clicker sounds better than the drag on my Twin Power which is loud and crisp but this Stradic FL is louder and crisper. Shimano knows what they're doing and this is a top notch reel with top notch features.
From: David: Black Hills 10/18/21
Comments: For the price, I just can't imagine there being a better spinning reel. So solid, so smooth, and casts beautifully. If I had more money I'd put this on every spinning rod I own.
From: Ben: New York 9/20/21
Comments: There was a time when I smirked at the thought of 200$ on a reel, then I bought my first CI4+.. loved it, but I desired a louder drag system and a better color, and bam they dropped these babies. My reel of choice every time I'm on the water, would recommend this spinning reel over all others and I have used a few in my day. My PB of 9.4 came on one of these reels, on the very bait I learned to fish with way back when.. the Ole Zoom Fluke
From: Kaden: Pikeville, TN 8/12/21
Comments: Hands down the best spinning reel! I have the CI4+, Vanford, NASCI, and the Stradic FL 2500. All of them are fantastic reels and money well spent, but the Stradic FL is the one that I will be buying another one for my arsenal. Smooth, well balanced, light, and casts a mile. Love this reel!
From: John: Chester Springs, PA 7/18/21
Comments: To be honest, I grew up with shimano being the best reels money could buy... then for about 5 years, they slid backwords. I had several reels lock up on me, spool shafts bend, etc. However. Since they released the Stradic FL, I am proud to say that I am once again a huge fan of Shimano! Ive picked up 2 of these in the 2500, and have paired them both with IMX Pro spinning rods. Beautiful reels for $200, and if you have a longer rod that you need a little bit more weight to balance out, these are my #1 recommendation all day long!

Comments: A lot of good features. but I miss the anti reverse off lever and extra spool.

Comments: Best Reel I have ever owned and I have Many Shimano CI4 reels. Hands down, best spinning reel for the money.
From: Sal B: Deerfield Beach, FL 11/2/20
Comments: Very seldom do I ever purchase any gear/equipment that's a first iteration model. However, I've great success, and developed faith in Shimano products. The new Shimano Stradic Spinning Reel, in my case, the 2500HGFL model, is absolutely outstanding. I've used it extensively for 6 weeks and it has exceeded all my presupposed performance expectations. It is worth every dime; it is as advertised.
From: Trace: Oceanside, CA 10/30/20
Comments: Never fished with a Stella but hard to imagine how one could be smoother than this Stradic. Zero slop turning the handle and feel remains fluid under load. Drag is butter.Love the 3000 size for the angry smallmouth up here.
From: Nate: MI 10/29/20
Comments:I have the 2500 model that i paired with a megabass Ronin. I love this reel it is buttery smooth feels very precise and fine when turning the reel handle. the hagane body is solid and looks awesome. I have caught big smallmouth and large mouth on this reel and it has performed as advertised. I am very happy with this reel and i am going to start replacing my older Quantum energies with these.
From: Clint: New Jersey 9/24/20
Comments:Great Reel but... Shimano missed a global home run on it. They left out previous generations of standard features; 1. No reverse 2. No service port 3. No cloth protective bag 4. No folding handle
From:Unknown: 7/8/20
Comments:After owning two Stradic Ci4+ models I knew I had to get this reel. I got it and paired it with a Zodias 7' med light for dropshotting and holy crap it's the best finesse combo I've used. The drag is louder on purpose and is very solid. I actually enjoy how touchy this drag is compared to the Ci4+. It feels like just a few clicks is all you need to adjust instead of the quarter turn. Once I used it for a small underspin I was really impressed on the smoothness. Definitely smoother than the other but both are outstanding. It's performed flawlessly but after using it with a swimbait I'm throwing it on my 7' med rod instead. Phenomenal for the price. If you're looking at this reel just buy it. Definitely grabbing a 1000 for ultra light fun fishing.
From:Jed: 6/3/20
Comments: Recently purchased this reel in a 4000 for inshore fishing. Spooled reel with 20lb pp v2 and couldn't be happier with the ergonomics, finish, line management, and overall performance of the reel. Haven't had the reel long enough to speak on longevity by any means, but product seems of great quality just as I've always seen with the majority of Shimano products.
From: Eddie 5/16/20
Comments: Got the 4000XG for striped bass and all I can say is, it's the smoothest spinning reel I've own so far, cast very far, little more heavy than the ci4 but it makes up for it in other areas. can't go wrong with this one
From: Richard: California 5/3/20
Comments:This reel is just ridiculous. I have the 2500 paired with a 7'7 Medium Phenix feather, and its like cheating. It is a dream to fish with and feels like a way more expensive combo. If you're wanting this reel and looking for a rod to pair it with go with that combo. You won't be disappointed. I don't use a lot of spinning or finesse gear so this is my "all around" setup for anything finesse and it definitely does the job.
From: Unknown: Guntersville, AL 3/2/20
Comments: The reel is good but they could have done better. I like the micro module gearing in the reel but it seems like it takes a good bit of work to turn the handle. I prefer the ci4+ over this for the fact that the ci4+ is so much lighter and effortless to turn the handle. Also the drag compared to the stradic FK and ci4+ is much louder and not nearly as smooth. The drag feels cheap compared to the amazing drag on the FK and ci4+. I think for the extra money the ci4+ is the way to go, its a much better reel in my opinion.
From: Lawson: West Virginia 2/25/20
Comments:I've had the 2500 stradic FL since it came out and it's the smoothest reel I've ever owned. When you spin the handle it glides and there is ZERO noise. I sold my ci4 to get another FL so I've got 2 now. I've had one since october and I've fished it regularly and it's still brand new. I've got one paired with a Shimano curado 7'1 medium and the other on a g loomis NRX. The NRX setup is the most sensitive set up I've ever had.
From: Unknown: Kerrville, TX 2/24/20
Comments:Picked up a 4000 paired with a Dobyns Champion XP 7'3 Medium this fall and holy smokes this reel is a winner. The attention to detail is absolutely insane, so powerful yet sensitive and easy to work fish. I mostly used this combo this fall to throw small swim baits but will also be a great Wormin/Tube combo. Working a swim bait with this thing was a blast, butttah smooth and geared to perfection. Can't wait to get more, can't recommend this reel enough, enjoy!

Comments: I've 3 Stradics - the CI4 - FK and now FL. It's exactly as I was expecting - I love how sooner or later shimano incorporates all their high end tech into their lower dollar reels - and with this one they did. Has some nice little upgrades over the Fk. With some nice modern visual eye candy looks. Paired mine up (3000 size) with a Phoenix feather7'7 medium. Stunning match. I foresee this becoming one of shimanos most popular reels - simply put it has it all at a more than fair price .
From: Dean: Las Vegas 11/13/19
Comments:Well.... you WILL be switching out all of your Stradic ci4+ to these FL's. Shimano quality with a loud drag system. You will be able to hear the reel screaming in your videos. Strong build and smooth as butter. Finally something that beats the older Stradic.
From: Tony: Virginia 11/8/19
Comments:Hands down one of the best spinning reels on the market! Smooth..mans it's smooth! Very durable and worth every dollar! We all know that we pay for what we get! I run this reel on the smoke spinning rod from quantum. Worth it guys!
