The Seaguar Red label Fluorocarbon Line is 100% Fluorocarbon designed to be an everyday freshwater go-to line with all the knot and tensile strength--as well as the nearly invisible performance of 100% fluorocarbon--in an economical package that everyone can appreciate.
Comments: Lost two jackhammers using 15lb red label. If you are throwing more expensive lures, I recommend investing in a higher quality line like tatsu or j-flouro.
From: Unknown: 6/28/23
Comments: For the money this is some of the best line I've used. I have the 15lb tied on to 3 cranking rods that I use on rock jetties. I normally cut off the nicked line at the end of the day and go hit it again. I have never had this line break on me yet. I do like the way Sun Line Fc Sniper and P-line tactical cast compared to this but for 1/2 the price you can't beat it.
From: Unknown: 2/20/23
Comments: Truly some of the best line for the price. Never really have any problem with the line, especially if you use line conditioner. As a college angler, this is truly your best option with price, quality and durability.
From: Leo: In 11/10/22
Comments: At first, I enjoyed this line. Now, I only trust the 15lb for heavy applications because the 6lb that I use broke on dinks that aren't even half a pound.
From: Unknown: North Carolina 4/21/22
Comments: First Flourocarbon line I used. And it didn't disappoint! Thin diameter and strong. I recommend this to anglers that is starting off with Fluorocarbon.
From: Jiggy: Brooklyn, NYC 1/17/22
Comments: Honestly this is some of the best line on the market for the price. I use the 15 lbs. for pretty much everything from texas rigs to crankbaits to buzzbaits. Haven't had any problems with breakage or the line coiling up.
From: Kole: Phenix City, AL 9/4/21
Comments: If you follow all the basics of checking and tieing your line properly then this line is for u. Cheaper than most line and can handle hard hook sets. Hasn't failed me.
From: Lee: California 7/13/21
Comments: I've used several different brands of fluoro that are much more expensive than this. To be honest as long as you condition the line and check your line often for any imperfections, there's honestly no reason to pay twice as much for fluoro line. Don't get me wrong, it's not as good as some more expensive fluoro, but the differences are minimal enough to look past that at this price point.
From: Nate: Pennslyvania 6/29/21
Comments: Pros: Great price, strong line, holds up well if you wet your knots. Cons: average to poor memoryI still use this line as my main flouro, with expectations that I will need to replace every month or so, but with that price it's no big deal.
From: Nick: Virginia 6/17/21
Comments: Funny, I keep being told that there are better floro lines out there, and I spend the money to try them, but I always keep coming back to Red Label. Mind you, I primarily use it for leader material, but I NEVER have knot issues, I NEVER have breakage issues and its extremely affordable, relatively speaking when it comes to floro lines. There are more expensive floro lines out there, just not sure you will find a better line (Tatsu aside)....
From: Nick: Maine 3/14/21
Comments: If you're in the business of boat flipping meat nuggets, but you're balling on a budget; this is the stuff for you. Casts like butter baby. Just buy it.
From: Trenton: Illinois 3/4/21
Comments: This is my go to Flouro for Jig fishing and basically every other application. Mainly run 15lb. i actually get bulk spools of 15 cause its on so many reels. Casts great. Knot strength is great. Rarely ever have i run into any issues. I have gotten a few smaller spools that seemed rough but still had their strength. You can tow in any fish and even oak trees. Not well versed in the lighter stuff and have heard it doesn't have the best strength but highly recommend for running 12lb and up.
From: Dylan: California 3/3/21
Comments: I've used Red label for years & I love it. Strong line too!
From: Unknown: 3/1/21
Comments: Been using red label for several years and I really like it. I flip exclusively 20 pound test and never have any issue. I throw 15 and 12 as well. For the price, you can't beat it. It never lets me down.
From: Josh: 1/5/21
Comments: Yes this is a great line, to start off with using Fluorocarbon line. I started off using this line in 2010. Didn't never have a problem with it at all. Nice and sensitive abrasion resistance. Will give you the confidence in using Fluorocarbon. From: Unknown: Brooklyn, NY 12/26/20
Comments: Good knot strength and possibly general strength are the only good features this line has to offer, HORRIBLE memory, knots up easily, castability is not great, maybe I got a bad batch but if not you may as well use low gauge WIRE as fishing line. From: Unknown: 12/24/20
Comments: My "Go To" for 15# general purpose line. Very very strong when a good knot is used and I keep an eye for nicks and abrasion; memory is acceptable as ALL fluorocarbon has bad memory. I buy the 1000 yard spools and respool often. I prefer this over Invisx and Abrazx. I like Sunline Sniper or Shooter 20# for heavier needs. If I need heavier than 20#, I use braid.
From: Tod: Georgia 11/7/20
Comments: God awful line. snaps off randomly lost one of my dirty jigs swimjigs and today my $20 jackhammer chatter bait. From: Unknown: 10/22/20Comments: This is strictly my back up floro when I'm out on the boat and need to re string for whatever reason. for the price it's by far the best floro $15 can buy. if your just getting started in angling or an angler on a tight budget, I highly recommend you start with this floro before buying high grade line. it's very dependable, great knot strength, low memory at a great price
From: Dean: Las Vegas, NV 9/16/20
Comments:This line is my go to fluorocarbon, I have set the hook hard on the 20lb multiple times never broke off, and I drilled a hookset on a 5lb largemouth on the 15lb and bank flipped it and the line still didn't break... If you tie good knots and check for Knicks in the line you won't break off, this is the best fluorocarbon for the money!!
From: Billy: Ohio 8/19/20
Comments:The only good aspect of this line is the knot strength. Manageability, memory, knotting up, etc is all TERRIBLE.. even straight off the roll.. 0/10 would NEVER buy another seaguar product.. even with line conditioner this is the WORST flourocarbon I have ever used in my 15 years of fishing. From: adam: Massachusetts 7/26/20
Comments: Great knot strength, and easily manageable on casts. I mostly use this line as leader material, but sometimes spool 8,12 and 15lb straight. I have great results using all different sizes between 6 and 20lb test as leaders. Not sure what these people who consistently break off casting lures are doing, but it's never happened to me using Red Label for 8 years. It's hard to diagnose user error from reading a review, but when someone continually does the same thing over and over you have to wonder. For me it's a great performing line and available at a reasonable price.
From: KT: Illinois 7/7/20
Comments:I have to say no to this line, frayed very easily, even though it is strong. I was using 15lb test line and it got damaged quickly. Going back to Sunline superfluorocarbon, much better as an economical fishing line. From: Unknown: 6/8/20
Comments:I have used Seaguar Red Label for years. I keep a 200 spool of 8, 10, 12, 15, and 20 stocked and ready to go for leader material as I run braid to flourocarbon almost exclusively. It is very abrasion resistant, hard to break even when accidentally snagged and trying to break it purposefully, and just down right good line. The only thing I would not use it for is spoiling an entire reel. I tried this on my cranking rod and it was just too stiff. Went to Invisx for cranking. From: William: 5/26/20
Comments: I've been used this for a long time in the 20lb. I picked up three spools of the 15 and so far one spool casted off a 3/8 ounce jig and a 3/4 chatterbait, one is still on a reel, and one; broke on the spool, cast off a $100 Big Hater like it was a brick, and then a cheap DB Shad. You can't buy Big Haters anymore. I lost a bait I can't replace because a line that had been spooled up that same day was brittle and week it flung it, not on the actual cast, but the very beginning. This line is never going on another reel and I'd advise you not to trust it with your baits either.
From: Ford: San Marcos 4/29/20
Comments: I use this as leader material for my braid in both fresh and saltwater, from 10-20lb. For that purpose, it is solid all-around. If you're looking for a quality leader material, I'd recommend Red Label.
From: TP: NC 4/24/20
Comments: First off, this is some of the best budget line for student like me I can't afford the higher end Seaguar line.Ive used abrazx and invisx but I have to say red label to me is better for the money this line is the strongest 15$ line ive ever used. The only thing about this line is the finesse floro, anything under 15lbs is just eh to me id go ahead and spend the extra cash on the finesse line or tatsu if you have the money.
From: mitch: Illinois 4/22/20
Comments:Absolutely the worst line on the market. Have had this line snap countless amount of times with no frays or anything. I would rather use 20 year old 8lb mono over this stuff. Do not believe the reviews, this line isn't even good straight out of the pack. From: Unknown: 4/18/20
Comments: I've been using this line for several years and it is the best bang-for-the-buck flourocarbon line available.I primarily use this on casting gear for spinnerbaits, lipless cranks and pitching/casting jigs.It is quite a bit more abrasion resistant than you would expect, and I fish around a lot of zebra muscles.
From: Drew: Novi, MI 4/17/20
Comments: I use this line in 8,10,12,15, and 20lb sizes as leaders to my braided line. It has great knot strength, and is very easy to manage while fishing. It's very abrasion resistant, so it's perfect for bottom contact presentations around cover. I like that it is a little stiffer than mono, that aspect of it makes it a good leader material. The only time I use mono as a leader these days is if I want a floating line, like when using top water baits. I used to buy InvizX, but have switched over to Red Label completely now. InvizX is more limp, but it doesn't help any when using it as a leader.
From: KingTut 4/16/20
Comments:Best value fluoro out there. Very good stuff. Stiffer than your high end fluoro but you get what you pay for in that regard. Use line conditioner the night before you fish and it performs like a $25 fluoro. If you're routinely breaking off with this line it's you, not the line. From: Tanner: Tennessee 3/7/20
Comments: Just like me, you are someone looking to get the most out of a FC line but without a hefty price tag. Well I'll just say this. When I first got into casting reels, I was looking for a strong but buyer friendly FC line and I started out with Trilen and it became to crazy with the memory. So I stumbled upon this red label at my local retailer years ago and I can confidently say this is by far my favorite budget friendly FC line to date. And honestly haven't used any other FC line on the market because of this red label. I use anywhere from 12, 15, and 20# for all my needs. I have yet to break off once, we'll only if I get snagged up and have to hulk strength the line out and even then sometimes I have to cut the line because it just won't break. I can guarantee you won't break off and if you are breaking when catching fish make sure you are making a secure knot and wetting your line before you tighten you line and if you are unsure how the line did after catching a fish in some weird situation or just caught a monster in general then retie your line. This line have a 4.5/5 for me and that's because the memory on this line isn't the greatest but it's strong as nails.
From: Dalton: Iowa 2/25/20
Comments:This is a great line for beginners. I first used Redlabel, in 2008. I mean it's a little stiffer than mono. But it was more sensitive than mono. My catch rate went right up to. Never broke off fishing this line. Good stuff. From: Unknown: Brooklyn, NY 11/30/19
Comments:I used this line as a 8 foot leader on a casting setup. Great knot strength using the FG knot. HOWEVER, this line is not abrasion resistant. Broke off a ton while using this on a T Rig setup so don't use this by rocks or zebra mussels. Great line for the price though. From: C H: Texas 11/12/19
Comments:Absolute worst line I have ever tried to use. Not sure if it was just a bad batch, but the memory on this line before ever spooling it on was crazy. I spooled it onto a spinning reel and before I could even thread the line through the last of the guides the line was jumping off the reel spool and the bail was closed. Trashed it and used another brand I have used previously. Total waste of money. May try to use it as a leader, but not on anymore reels. From: Brian: Canton, GA 10/16/19
Comments:For the money, this line is pretty good. No problems on baitcasters and backlashing (if your backlashing that much, it's probably the reel settings, not the line). Don't even use line conditioner and have had the same line on for 2 years. Will be respooling next season though. From: Scott H: 10/7/19
Comments:I first used Red Label a couple years ago when I had no idea or had any knowledge of different applications for different lines. I cant remember having a problem with it then. I spooled up in April with this stuff and used it once on a combo and havent touched the combo since.Took it out today and this line performed flawlessly. Over 6 months hold and this line was casting a 1/4 oz. Trap a country mile on my Lews LFS. I will be buying Red Label again!
From: Matt :Delaware 10/3/19
Comments:Good line for the price. Doesn't cast as smooth as Invisx and has more memory. From: Rueben: Milford 9/22/19
Comments:Best line yet in 55 years of fishing.inexpensive, strong, casts well and knots hold just great.i doubt I'll be switching any time soon!
From: Robert:Roswell9/10/19
Comments: I've used lots of different lines and I absolutely love it. Knots are easy to tie and casts really far!
From: Bob: Roswell 9/2/19
Comments:This is the best line for the price period if your having breakoffs it's cause of nicks in the line or drag wasn't right I have only had one breakoff and been using this line for 10+ years and it was my fault cause the drag was too tight using 6lb but I have boat flipped 5lb+ lmb on 15lb and 20lb even caught a 20lb striper on 8lb in a massive brush pile if that says anything so go grab yourself a spool and fish
From: Unknown: Nashville, TN8/27/19
Comments:Fantastic line. Thin in diameter, strong, and barely visible. Used this for trout and bass. I like that I can buy 10lb thats normally the diameter of 8lb or 8lb the diameter of 6lb and so on. This stuff is really strong, just use lighter drag for ligher linesFrom:Unknown: 8/21/19
Comments:Great when used as a leader with braid. Strong line. I recently did battle with a 6lb bass that wrapped itself around two under water logs, I could feel the line sawing on the logs. I had to keep steady pressure on, and eventually got her out. My line was roughed up pretty good, but held the fish. I've caught lots of bass in some thick stuff using this line. I recommend it. I was using 30lb Power Pro with a 15lb Red Label leader about 6' long. It's my basic jig and t-rig set up.
From:Monty: Illinois 7/6/19
Comments:This line is great!! I tryed it because invizex In 12 & 15lb was out! I was skeptical because I've only ever used invizex... I've tryed a lot of different lines and kno some are complete junk! And it realy seams that the cheaper they are? The cheaper they are! NOT TRUE WITH THIS LINE.. red label is great!! I have more spools of seaguar laying around than any other brands and I am LOYAL2 them as a company!! Great line for price , and have never BROKE off!! And it's very usable !! WOULD RECOMMEND!From:Justin P.: Little Falls, MN 5/19/19
Comments:Was visiting the motherland AKA So Cal and had a chance to fish DVL. Problem was, I needed new line and my only option was Wal-Mart which makes me want to vomit. I picked up a spool in 6lb because they didn't have 8. I dropshotted all day with this stuff and got a nice 4 along one of the dams. This stuff held up fine. Give it a shot. Order it here though, stay away from Wal-Mart. It's evil. And it stinks. From:Unknown: 4/8/19
Comments:This is the only fluoro I use now, Its great stuff, I have rarely ever had a break off and if I did it was error on my part for not checking my line. This stuff has great knot strength and and is fairly abrasion resistant. Also ties well to braid. The best part is the price. Overall a good line with a great price point.
From: Zach - Pennsylvania 2/12/19
Comments:I purchased Seaguar Red Label 8# for drop shotting on my local lake and I love it. I was incurring line twist with this line until an old friend told me to do this. Said to unspool a 100 yards of line in your yard open ended. Just do a little walking. Then walk back to reel and start cranking. The line will roll perfectly on the spool naturally and you will not have line twist again. Did this for all my spinning reels and fixed all my line twist. This is the best most limp line FC of all I have tried. Ive been using for more than a year and no breaks or issues and still going. Highly recommend.
From: Gary - Jonesboro, AR 12/1/18
Comments:Red label lines is a great reliable flouro handles good hard hookset with jig or flipping.iv had few break offs in like last few years do to my being lazy not checking knot fishing the nasty stuff give the line a try you will love it when you get used to it also if your not catching fish very often the line will coil a little but still manageable so catch fish will help keep line stretched
From: Unknown - 9/15/18
Comments:This is the only fluorocarbon line that I use now and has been for the last 2 years. Use it from 6lb all the way up to 20lb. Spinning reels and casting, doesn't matter. Don't recall ever losing a fish due to line breakage either. 6lb & 8lb handle perfectly fine on a spinning reel, even without using line conditioner. Will never pay for high $ fluorocarbon again! Awesome product.
From: Bill - Tennessee 9/10/18
Comments:Just started using this line. Got hung up on a Texas rig with 17 lb. Pulled at it HARD, and didn't break off. Finally got it free. This line is pretty tough!!
From: Unknown 8/25/18
Comments:Tried before and wasn't a fan, seemed just to break very easy. My partner started using it and swore by it and its what I have been buying lately. Not the most abrasion resistant, but still a lot better than mono of course. Definitely worth 15 bucks. I use a lot of pline fluoro and cant even tell anymore whats what on the reels. Memory is acceptable. GOOD line. Try it.
From: JR:Alabama8/24/18
Comments:Anyone who says this line is not good is most likely inexperienced. I've been using fluorocarbon for 10+ years. This is not sunline sniper this is not tatsu. That being said I exclusively use red label for ALL my fluorocarbon lines BECAUSE I've tried them all and for the money this is the best line on the market. Yes it has some memory, yes it's not the softest line I've used. 1 spray of line conditioner the night before I fish and it feels and fishes line tatsu. If your breaking off more then once a day, your having other issues. Incorrect knots and/or burning the line, chipped or failing guides or line that is old/sat in the sun to long. I use 8lb to 20lb on 10 different rods. I can't tell you the last time I broke off on a fish. Check your knots boys, use line conditioner and go fishing.
From: Nate Goodwin:Kingston Massachusetts7/29/18
Comments:I use this line religiously. I usually purchase red label in the 1000 yard ten pound test. This spring when the Bonito ran through NC I took my bait casters out on the ocean and was catching bonito where the largest was eight and a half pounds. If you even fought these fish they fight hard! The line eventually got stretched from 20 or so of these hard fights and needed to be replaced, but this line holds up with the best of them.
From: Josh:Sneads Ferry, NC 7/27/18
Comments:A lot of good, a lot of bad reviews on this line. My experience using several flourocarbons from several brands I can say that this is a very good flourocarbon. You get quality for the money, now it's not gonna outperform tatsu or something premium but betweenthe $15-25 flourocarbons it's up there in the performance. Just dont leave the line out in the sun allday on the deck of the boat, use a reel cover and use line conditioner and the line will be great.
From:Gino: Medina, Ohio 6/26/18
Comments:Spray line conditioner on your spool immediately when you get it. Let sit for 24 hours and then spool it onto your baitcaster. It makes a world of difference.
From: MotherFluker:Santa Rosa, CA6/18/18
Comments:Bought 2 spools of seaguar red label, 12 lb and 15lb. Spooled up 2 reels with it. First off, when this line backlashes, which is quite often compared to other line, when you pull the line out to get rid of the backlash, it will knot up. Lost a lot of line due to this. Respooled and used it for another month. Started breaking off on hooksets in a tournament which made me frustrated. Not a fan.
From: Unknown 5/8/18
Comments:this is the best 20lb FC in the world. i throw it on a 1/2-3/4 lipless, texas rig, 1/2oz chatterbait. clear and strong. absolutely no issues, been using it for years.
From: Nitro - Tennessee 5/3/18
Comments:Been using this line for about 6 years now. No problems at all. A great line for the weekend angler.
From: Christopher - Brooklyn 4/19/18
Comments:No problems here. I do alot of bank fishing at my local damn for shoal bass. I've caught 4 and 5 pounders then hoisted them 10 feet up in the air to me due to standing on rock ledges. I tie a good polomar knot and wet my line.
From: Jonathan: leesburg 3/1/18
Comments:Ive been using this line for 5+ years now and its great. Ive have used abrasx and invisx and while those lines are definitely more manageable this line is just as strong and has as good of abrasion resistance as the higher priced lines. I don't ever have breakoffs with this line. With that being said i always use a line conditioner with this line. It gets a little stiff if you dont. So if you want a cheaper strong line and dont mind using line conditioner i highly recommend it.
From: Unknown 2/14/18
Comments:Tried this line instead of Seaguar InvizX because of the lower price. I learned very quickly you get what you pay for. This line has terrible memory and breaks way too often on hooksets. I've lost way too many Texas rigs and jigs from setting the hook with this line to ever consider buying it again. Do yourself a favor, spend the extra money and buy InvizX it's well worth it.
From: John: Pennsylvania 2/2/18
Comments:this line sucks was throwing a weightless fluke on red label 15lb test and threw my fluke out let it sink around a foot and twitched it once and bass took my fluke before i could set the hook the line broke and i had spooled it up on my rod 5 min before i hit the pond and there is no cover in the pond i was fishing i advise using sunline 12lb works great.
From:Unknown: 1/28/18
Comments:Worst line ever. Can't keep from backlashing no matter what reel i put it on. I don't know how it is on spinning reels but on baitcasters its useless.
From:Unknown - 12/15/17
Comments:I really like the 10 lb line for my drop shot rig. I caught an 18 catfish with the 10 lb line. It took awhile to land but I will stick with this for my drop shot rig.
From:Richard - Santa Rosa, Ca 12/14/17
Comments:I must be doing it wrong because I have no issues with this line... It's strong, works fine on the spool, good abrasion resistance, and great price!
From: Carl: Holland MI 11/23/17
Comments:I've literally fished them all. Literally. Pound for pound this is the best. It's worth double the price. The 4lb is maybe the best finesse line ever made. For the money it's not even close there's monos that are more expensive.
From: MetatronStar: Socal 10/1/17
Comments: Tip for this line, only use it as leader line, never spool a reel with this stuff unless it's a larger spool or smaller pound test. The abrasion resistance, and knot strength is amazing, but the memory is just not good on reel spools.
From: Unknonwn 8/21/17
Comments:This line is bad which I was heavily disappointed in..... The memory is terrible and when it does get a slight birds nest and you try to pull it out the line will snap within the spool due to it being complete garbage. Save your money and go get some P-Line!
From: PondHoppinSC: South Carolina 7/17/17
Comments: Tried the 8 lost 3 fish caught 4 I fish large Mouth in a clear deep lake over 300 feet deep when I make my long casts and get bite this stuff stretches like a slinky when i set the hook at 7 or 8 o clock and I end up at 1 trying to still get a hook set. One spit the hook and other pulled the hookoff at boat. Mite be ok for hard bait and I don't own 1 spinning rod had to try 10 dollars wallmart. Lots of MemoryNo abrasion residence
From: T-ManSan Diego. 7/4/17
Comments: Great line I have 15 pound Red Label on my spinnerbait setup and 20 pound on my jig setup. Line has held up great low stretch, high sensitivity, virtually invisible, and abrasion resistance. Line also is very managable on the spool of a baitcaster and has very low memory. This line also has great knot strength (improved clinch) (palomar). I have landed many big fish with this line the latest being a 4 pound bass on my jig rod the line held up great and allowed me to get the bass out of the brush.
From: Oklahoma 6/16/17
Comments:I use the 12lb for crankbaits and jerkbaits and use 15lb for jigs. I haven't had and problems with it's so far. Definitely good for the price.
From:Chad:Massachusetts 6/2/17
Comments:I've been using the 10# and #12 size for spotted bay bass as leader material for my 15# power pro and I've gotta say I love this line! Sometimes i even throw 1/8oz jigs which helps it sink faster and stay in the strike zone. 10# I usually use for more finicky situations and 12# for when I'm fishing the pilings.
From: Mario - Anaheim, CA 4/13/17
Comments:Just used the 8lb test for the first time today on a spinning reel. Has some memory but that is to be expected. It behaves very well on the spool and has very good knot strength (palomar knot). I was able to break a treble hook with it. Overall this is a quality product and will continue to buy and recommend this. **Update**5/22/17** I take back what I said, this has birdsnested twice (spinning reel) and is starting to turn green now that the weeds are starting to grow in. 2.5/5 spend the extra $5 and get invisx
From: Mitch: Black Earth Creek 3/18/17
Comments:I just landed the biggest bass of my life, 11lbs. This line handled it great. Good sensitivity, strength, both as a main and leader line at an affordable price IMO.
From: Unknown 3/1/17
Comments:I love this line, only brand of flourocarbon i use on the market! I buy this time and time again, it is very abrasion resistant + it is very nicely priced. I have no clue what people are talking about when they say this line doesn't hold up! I've used the 12, 15, and 20 lb and they ALL hold up with great performance! 10/10 for me!
From: Nick: Chester, VA 2/8/17
From: Ryan: Cortland, NY 8/2/16
Comments:This line is surprisingly tough bought the 6lb & I landed multiple 3 to 4lb bass without any flouro complications great knot strength good cast ability & fair abrasion resistance for the pound test I was throwing really impressed keep up the good work
From: Brian: OH 7/12/16
Comments:This is the best Flurocarbon line you can buy for the money! Strong & is very sensitive with the right gear! The only problem I have had with this line is the memory on the line. It's not bad at all after the first day of use. When you put the line on your reel and go out fishing you will backlash a couple of times. Once you get the line tight on your reel & break it in it cast pretty well! If you have the extra money go to invizex but this is a great line for the money!
From: Kayden: IN 6/24/16
Comments:the best budget fluorocarbon. the 8lb handled a 5lb catfish in a brush pile. 20lb is very strong i use the san diego jam knot & the improved clinch knot. im very impressed with this line.
From: Collin: IL 6/7/16
Comments:This line is fantastic. Anybody who has problems just doesn't know how tie knots for flouro , I use a uni knot or polamor knot never had problems ever. I use #20 for pitching jigs to heavy cover and have pulled several big bass out of thick pads no problem.
From: Hunter: Pascagoula, MS 5/26/16
Comments:Big fan of Seaguar, not this series on line. The line has good castability, invisibility, tensile strength, but lacks in abrasion resistance & having low memory. Treated the line with KVD conditioner & still retained lots of memory. It performs best on a baitcaster & horrible on a spinning reel in my opinion. In the future I will stick to their InvizX series, which I have no complaints about.
From: Big Steve: Mid Hudson Valley, NY 5/22/16
Comments:I've been using Red Label for several years now & it is great. I use spectra for 95% of my fishing & Red Label is what I use for my leader material. I have NEVER had this line fail on me. If you tie good knots & recheck your line often while fishing, you will be fine. Well worth the money.
From: Ryan: Castaic, CA 5/17/16
Comments:Loved these jigs for river fishing in WV they will hang up easier than most jigs with heavier weed guards but the slower fall rate makes this bait trigger strikes only problem I have had is not getting some 3/8 oz can be a little difficult to get the 1/4 oz down in deeper water with current.
From: Lance: Nitro, WV 5/5/16
Comments:This is probably the worst line i've ever bought. tried every knot & blue gills bust me off on 8lbs test. now Seaguar invisx on the other hand. that stuff must be made of dreams because its perfect.
4/26/16
Comments:I have recently purchased the 8lb for my spinning rod, this line (on the same spool & bait) held up to 38 in muskie, two 3lb smallies & 10 2lbers this line is well worth the little money you have to pay!
4/23/16
Comments:Overall this line is not too bad. If you have the extra money go ahead & get invizx. If not this line will work good just be careful tying your knots & check your line constantly.
From: Dalton: Chattanooga, TN 3/19/16
Comments:This is extremely good line. Casts well, and durable. Using 15 lb test line & a San Diego Jam knot this line answered the call and landed a 38" stripper.
From: Terry: Glen Burnie, MD 1/15/16
Comments:never getting this again! Just strung up my new swimbait rod with 20lb test. After three casts I watch my hudd sail off into the middle of the lake never to be seen again. I was so disappointed.
From: Caden: San Diego, CA 12/31/15
Comments:I use this line on most of my reels. Its really smooth and sensitive. For the price you really can't beat it. For the people that have a problem with it don't check their line for abrasions or have knot tying problems. The line is great if you take 5 seconds to check your line after a snag or landing a fish. For me its either this or Tatsu line but coming from the same company you'll know your not going to get let down.
From:Justin: NY 12/27/15
Comments:This line is great, I don't see why anyone would use any other Fluro. I switched from the expensive Sunline Sniper to red label and notice 0 difference for a fraction of the price.
From: Mike: Stroudsburg, PA 12/20/15
Comments:absolutely the best flourocarbon for the price. Used it for buzzbait a & caught a 4 pounder & 3 pounder plus three or four in the 2 1/2 range & was flawless. Also used it for Texas rigged beaver baits, fishing along the banks & the k it's held great (uni knot) & did not miss a bass & none were under 2 lbs. great line
From: Koltin: USA 12/17/15
Comments:Can't believe so many people like this line. I bought this line expecting the performance of the rest of the seaguar line up & this line certainly didn't give the results I was expecting.I got 12 lb test & constantly lost and had to retie lures. Invisx is definatly worth the extra money
From:Quinn: USA 11/3/15
Comments:I use 8 lb on 2 different rods, one fully spooled and the other with braid mainline and red label leader. I use 10 lb on my shallow cranking rod & 12 on my deep cranks. 15 lb on my flipping rod and 20 lb on my swimbait rod. I trust this line enough to throw my 6 Oz deps 250 on 20 lb line. Been using it for 3 years and only had a couple fish break off which were probably my fault for not re-tying. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
From:Brandan: Salt Lake, Utah 10/28/15
Comments:The more I use this line the less I want to buy anything else. The 15lb is great! the 12lb is great! the 20lb. great! This stuff is just too smooth & strong to ignore. it is super strong & reliable & I must say this line has 100% of my confidence. This is a very good line. The sensitive is out standing.
From:Calvin: Jackson, MI 10/18/15
Comments:except for a couple errors on my part, this line has yet to fail me in the three years I've been using it. I've used different brands and more expensive fluorocarbons and I personally just cant justify spending top dollar when I get great and consistent performance from red label.
From: Clint: NC 9/10/15
Comments:i bought 12 pound because i didnt have enough money for trilene and im impressed i uses it mostly for medium cranks and i love it i bang it in to rick alot and dont have to retie as often as pline fluoroclear
From: Daniel: USA 9/9/15
Comments:This is a very good line. I use it for fly-fishing and its as good as or in some cases better than many of the expensive ones out there.
From: Pat: Ireland 8/7/15
Comments:Take my advice: never use it as leader material if you plan on using a knot-to-knot connection. I was using 15# Red Label to 30# Power pro and broke off two fish on the hook set(Don't try and tell me I tie bad knots; it works just fine with the exact same knots and main line with 12# P-Line Ultimate). That aside, it works fine as main line. I haven't had problems with it in that application. Overall, decent line, certainly worth picking up a spool if you're interested.
From: Nick: San Francisco, CA 7/25/15
Comments::this is the best line I have ever used. Anyone who complains of it breaking is either tying their knot wrong or simply not checking at obvious times for frays. Last year I used it all year but changed my line often 3-4 times all year and I fish a lot no issues. Tried simplifying things this year and haven't changed my line from March and it is still strong. Very surprised with its longetivity!!!
From: Evan: WV 7/19/15
Comments:This line is outstanding, inexpensive, and will last a long time provided you use for leaders. Don't spool up with it. Use a power pro mainline, get a spool of equal diameter red label, splice it with a uni-uni knot and you're good to go. It's abrasion resistant, so a little nick will NOT cause it to fail. It's invisible for any water. It's thin for better bait performance. Best of all, it doesn't cost an arm and a leg, so you can get a spool of every size for what it would cost for one 1000 yd spool of something else and be ready for anything.
From: Tony: Yukon, OK 7/18/15
Comments:Used this in 12ib for my baitcaster and I am quite impressed. It's castable but a bit stiff. For the money as other have mentioned it's not bad. I have yet to have a break off or any unbearable birds nest on my casting reel. Give it a try.
From: T. Vang: WI 6/30/15
Comments:Exceptional line! I use 10lb red label for all my crankbait rods. It can handle a 1oz bait all day long. I have complete faith in it AND it is the most reasonably prices fluro on the market.
From: Brandon: Fort Knox, KY 6/30/15
Comments: The reason this line is so poor is because the diameter of for example their 10lb line is about as small in diameter as 6lb line, so one little nick and it's broken instantly. I am amazed at how popular this line is for such low quality!
From: Brett: USA 6/16/15
Comments:for the money, you can't beat Seagar red label. I use 10 & 12 for crankin & 15 for just about everything else. Very good, inexpensive & strong !
From: Banks: Kimberly, AL 6/10/15
Comments:The more I use this line the less I want to buy anything else. The 10 pound is great! The 15lb is great! the 12lb is great! the 20lb.... great! This stuff is just too smooth and strong to ignore. I am not a fish so I cannot attest to its visibility under water.
From: Nate: Pasco, WA 6/5/15
Comments: I'm not going to give this line a bad review yet bought 17lb for my worm rod very wirey get a lot of backlashs. But im going to get a bigger swimbait rod soon and try it on that only casting big heavy baits if it does not work for that im going back to Berkeley 100 % Floro which is what I'm putting on my worm rod
From: Nick: Defuniak Springs, FL 5/16/15
Comments:Great Value for the Money, however, I wouldn't buy anything less than 10lb. I used 12 at first, and had zero problems, when I converted that rod to my braid rod, I bought 10lb test for my cranker, and It was horrible. Lost a few lures because it would snap off at the knot. Switched to 12lb Abraze-X and have had zero problems.
From: Sam: MO 4/15/15
Comments:I fish 100 days a year. I have tried them all and I mean ALL. I have tried the Japanese Fluoro, Berkley, Blue label you name it. There are some expensive lines out there that might preform a tiny bit better, I have not encountered any situation were this line did not preform as expected. More often than not the line exceed my exectations. I fish lakes, streams, rivers and creeks if its fresh water and contains fish I have fished it. This line is well worth the money. Learn the seaguar knot and you will not be sorry. The clinch knot and even the blood knot can fail if it is tied improperly. The seaguar knot reduces the friction when tightening down on the knot. Tight lines and good luck!
From: Cal: UT 3/25/15
Comments:Without question this is the best low dollar flourocarbon on the market. Seaguar is the only company in the world that manufacturers their own resin for their lines so they are able to make a better quality line at a lower price than any of their competitors.
From: Rob: Lewistown, PA 1/29/15
Comments:really the best bang for your buck at $10. I use it on every reel i have and I'm amazed at how strong it is. even used it for surf fishing and stands up very well.
From: Slade: CA 1/18/15
Comments:I bought this line in 15lb test for my jig rod, fished it maybe three trips and pulled it back off. The line is really strong and abrasion resistant, but it is the stiffest line I have ever used. It also had a bit more stretch than I was expecting.
From: Michael: Leland, NC 12/28/14
Comments:awesome line for the price, I've used the 12lb for my square bills, traps, and jerk baits and I've pulled in tons of fish in the 5-9lb range this season, no break offs or complaints great job seaguar !
From: Alex: Miami, FL 12/9/14
Comments:I've fished a few fluoros and had to trash them because they're just too stiff. But this line is limp and still has the benefits of fluoro. 6 or 8 on drop shots, shaky heads and small jigs can't be beat for the price
From: Greg: Lake Nacimiento, CA 11/20/14
Comments:I like sun line but it's too much money. Used 12 lb and caught many 3lb plus smallies, seems to be very strong for 12. Interested to see if there is a big difference in thickness and stiffness between this and 15
From: AL: USA 11/2/14
Comments:This is a solid, inexpensive fluorocarbon. It is much better than other cheap fluoros on the market. It is strong, sensitive, and a pleasure to cast and pitch. The only thing I have noticed is that after a few trips it turns a milky white color and I have found that break offs are more common when this occurs. Other than that, a solid fluoro that is the backbone of my line arsenal.
From: Nick: IL 8/9/14
Comments:best of the cheaper flouros for sure. and around $40 for 1000yrds isn't bad either. but because it is cheaper I would respool it often. I usually fish sniper or invisix but gave this a try based on price. only spooled up one reel with it just to try it out ,team gold, and it was great the first 3-4 times out catching 3-5lbers. I use kvd line conditioner and it still got significantly weaker after a few trips. good line for the price but imo make sure you respool often or cut 10-15 yards off after a few trips lost two traps at st. clair making that mistake myself.
From: Will: MI 7/25/14
Comments:I tourney bass fish and fun fish with 10 lb red label and love it! Great product for the money. If your having problems casting this put it on an abu Garcia or bass pro baitcaster and you will see amazing results. It's the reels not the line this stuff is awesome!
From: Donnie: Mansfield, OH 7/13/14
Comments:Ok, so I've tried and reviewed at least 10-12 different fluoro lines over the last 5 years or so and this is my take on this line. This red label is very strong, has good abrasion resistance, and has decent castability. It does tend to have some stiffness and memory, alot more than Gamma and Sunline, BUT I was actually surprised that this line was as good as it is, especially for the extremely low cost. $11.00 is very inexpensive for a good fluorocarbon line. It's not as good as Gamma, P-line, and Sunline Sniper, but for the price, it's a great line with a lot of strength. I use the 15lb. test and it's never failed me yet. Great job Seaguar!
From: Tom: N. Charleston, SC 7/9/14
Comments:On the advise of a fried I tried the 15 lb and 12 lb test. I found it hard and difficult to cast. Extremely stiff and felt heavy when casting. I can't speak for strength and durability, I didn't get that far.
From: Steve: North Charleston, SC 7/5/14
Comments:very good line! Have been fishing it this past spring and have caught several bass over 5 lbs. No break offs and heck, I haven't retied more than a few times and only when changing baits! Plus, I use a Palomar knot with it and no knot problems whatsoever!
From: J.R.: Morton, TX 6/20/14
Comments:Awesome line, regardless of price. I've now caught a 53 and 40 inch musky throwing DT's for Smallmouth with 12 lb Red Label on a Revo S. Both ripped drag like crazy. The 53 had it wrapped around his mouth the first time I got him to the boat, thought for sure it would break on his teeth. 6 charges later he was in the boat. Could not recommend more.
From: Ryan: Arbor Vitae, WI 5/15/14
Comments:I have been using the 12lb test on a Tatula for bass and striper in Central Cali all season and love it. Often when I get caught on a small log or rooted bush, I end up pulling the entire thing out of the water with literally no damage to the line itself. This is within reason of course. Pretty amazing for 12lb test, plus its cheap. As for people getting break offs, I have found that making a few short casts to "loosen" everything up and to get rid of any memory before launching my baits really helps to reduce potential birds nests. With that said, I fish free spool and have been extremely satisfied with its overall performance. Definitely recommended.
From: Kevin: CA 5/14/14
Comments:This has been my favorite fluro yet. Never had a break off and its very manageable for a Fluorocarbon line. The only negative thing i could say is i think it has just as much stretch as mono.
From:Cameron: VA 4/20/14
Comments:I use spinning gear. I always wanted to try fluoro and after seeing Seaguar advertises it as a spinning gear-friendly line and reading reviews here, I decided to buy 2 spools. At first I was quite disappointed when, after filling the spool with the 10lb, I saw the line coming off like a spring. I envisioned huge bird nests but I was surprised that every cast was problem free (I used lipless cranks). Then I tried the 6lb on my UL reel and I expected the worst but frankly, the 6lb behaved even better. I am now able to work my UL lures a bit deeper. I recommend this line to anyone who wants to use it with spinning gear.
From:Peter: CA 4/8/14
Comments:I have been using this line for the past two seasons fishing the mighty Mississippi. Let me tell you with all the zebra mussels in there this line holds up. I use #17 and #20 lb when flippin jigs and soft plastics to rocks and wood cover that are loaded with mussels and I know I will get the bass out of there without breaking off! Great line!
From:Russ: IL 3/22/14
Comments:i use the red label in 17lb on my swimbait rod and it holds up very well, chunking 3-5oz hudds, rago skt swimmers and savage line thru and hav. Caught 7 fish over 12 lbs last year biggest being 13.60 and i horsed them in, great product and has never failed me will be using this line for years to come.
From:Brad: TX
Comments:best fluorocarbon I have used especially for the price. Super smooth casting, low memory, superior knot and abrasion strength. Obviously review by unknown person has no idea how to use a baitcaster or tie knots if he is breaking this line casting and getting birds nest.
From:David: VA
Comments:I've used invisX and that Vicious CRAP. This red label is all that! Very low memory and hella knot strength. Haven't had any breaks either
From:Stone: Charlotte, NC
Comments: great line, great price and super strong, I use it for a main line and a flouro leader. From: Chris: IL
Comments:Absoultely great for the money. Use 15# on my all purpose rod, 12# on my cranking rod, 10# on my jerkbait rod, and 20# on my jig/flipping rods. It has not failed me once, and personally when I find something good I stick with it and that's what I have done with this line.
From: Morgan: Plano, Texas
Comments: This is some amazing fluorocarbon. Cheap, strong, sensitive, easy casting... It has it all. Get this line
From: Doug: Florence, AL
Comments: Great Line, I have been nothing but impressed, if you put a little line conditioner on it, it will perform like a much higher end line. Good buy. From: Logan: NJ
Comments:The 10 lb line has cost me 3 jerk baits it isn't very abrasion resistant I also have the 8 for finesse fishing and not problems there.
From: Nick: Redding CA
Comments:I must say I always find myself going back to this line is troubled situations and in times of anger, its not only just the cheapest fluro out there but it is super strong and reliable and I must say this line has 100% of my confidence. From: Tyler: Orange county, CA
Comments: Hands down the best fluoro on the market for a great price. i have the 10lb and the 17lb and theyre both awesomeFrom: Tyler: Cincy, Ohio
Comments:I used the 15 pound to ledge fish on kentucky and barkley all year last year. it performed awesome. no problems what so everFrom: LA: Lyon County, KY
Comments:Just bought this stuff and man 20lb is very stiff but you can manage it if you put it on tight. I love this line I have tried almost all the mid price fluoro line this stuff so far with be what I use when I use Fluoro and not braid. dont hesitate to buy this stuff it is really goodFrom: Robert: Austin, TX
Comments: I am using ten pound test for a few of my baitcast setups. This line is very smooth. It casts lot better than most fluorocarbon. I am hoping that I can start using this line for all of my reaction bait fishing. So far it seems promising.
