Overview
First introduced in 1939, the Heddon Zara Spook offers an iconic walk-the-dog action that has been proven to not only catch fish, but catch more and bigger fish as well. Essentially the same today as it was 75 years ago, the Heddon Zara Spook delivers a pronounced, sauntering action that is responsible for countless tournament wins across all levels of bass fishing.
To create this magical action, cast the Heddon Zara Spook out and then with a bit of slack in the line then use your wrist to rhythmically manipulate the rod tip, while simultaneously reeling. If done correctly, the Heddon Zara Spook should walk back-and-forth across the surface followed by a gentle wake. The heart-stopping strikes created by this action are incredibly aggressive and one of the most exciting ways to catch any fish.
Capable of drawing fish in from great distances, the Heddon Zara Spook produces time-tested performance and explosive strikes that have been speeding up angler’s pulse rates for the better part of a century.

Comments: This good old lure is one of the lures that I throw, when nothing else gets a bite, even on a cold winter day or a middle of a hot summer day. I just get back to basic walking bait, when the fishing is tough. The Zera Spook still catches fish.

Comments: I've been using this bait for nearly 20 years. I got a G-finish as a kid and I've used these ever since. It is by far my favorite top water bait to throw. It walks easily and consistently.

Comments: The original Heddon Zara Spook is still the best topwater "walk the dog" lure in it's class. Hook harnesses prevent the bait from fouling while the lure is in motion and keeps the hooks from over extending forward during a strike. Truly a surface lure that has stood the test of fisherman and time!

Comments: I compare this bait to an athlete, It's too good to be on the bench! Every time I've used this bait, GOOD things have happened! Some of the biggest bass(smallmouth and largemouths) have come off this bait! It makes topwater easy. Would recommend this to any beginner to topwater'

Comments: This bait walks the dog and then some. I got it in the bullfrog color. Tried it out today, and it blows water out of the way as you walk it. Quality!!!!!

Comments: I have a 3700 series plano box full of japansese and other high end brand topwater walk the dog baits that has sat in the bottom of my boat for three year ever since I stumbled upon this lure. My favorite pattern is the frog pattern which I have not found since my intital purchase, try putting split rings and 2/0 ewg trebles on this bait, the hooks that come with it work good for about 2 fish.

Comments: These are easily the best walk-the-dog baits out there. Easy to walk by keeping just a bit of slack in the line. The only bad thing about these is the treble hooks. They come with poor trebles that bend, break, or rust easy - but with a small screw driver they are very easy to upgrade.

Comments: These are my favorite lure of all time. Hands down. They are the original walk-the-dog bait and they are the best one out there. This bait has been responsible for well over half of all the trophy size bass I have caught. My favorite color is the G Finish Shad. This bait is what I throw when I want to catch big ones, but it will also catch numbers as well. My favorite time to use it is around the shad spawn in the mornings, and at high noon when the sun is directly overhead. But with an overcast I will throw this thing all day.

Comments: These things are great. The first time I got one, i was afraid I wouldn't be able to walk the dog with it. My first twitch of the rod and it spun a 180. And I hadn't used one before either. Picking one of these up if you're looking for heart pounding blowups and perfect action

Comments: I can't believe no one else has raved about these lures yet! They are durable, cast like a dream, and attract BIG fish. The walk the dog retrieve is easy to master and the long shank 1/0 trebles do the hooksetting for you. You cannot go wrong with these lures. They've been hauling in lunkers for 75 years and tackle warehouse has them for a great price. Do yourself a favor and buy one then go catch that fish of a lifetime.
